'Why yes,' Yokome said. 'Not many people know about our salon because it just opened. Be sure to stop by to see what our salon has to offer for our geisha and maiko. You can also send maids to pick up hair ornaments and such.'

"I am sure this is an excellent way for our young maikos to learn about the world,"Serena smiled.

"Ne Onee-sama...since the conversation seems to be slowing, might we possibly start a game of Big Liar?" Mizu asked her Onee-sama in a low whisper. She did not wish to appear rude, and wondered if playing this game might liven the patron as well as the geisha and maiko.

"Yes, continuing our game of Big Liar is an excellent idea, Mizu! Who wants to try next?"Serena smiled.

Yokome knew she was no good at making up stories and she was horrible at being the person who told the stories. So she sat back and waited for someone else to step up.

Mizu could only force herself to smile in reply. As a maiko, she was too low in rank to be the storyteller of such a game, and she wasn't sure if she could remember any stories of amusement under such duress at the moment.

"I would be happy to go if no one else will, Serena-san." Nitta smiled.
"Ok, my first story takes place when I was still young, only 7 or 8 at the time. My mother was a geisha, still learning dancing at the school. One day she received a new dance fan from the iemoto, dance master. On her way home, she placed it in her sleeve, only to find out later that it had fallen out. She sent her maids to look through the okiya and all through the streets and teahouses she had visited that night, but no one found it. Late one night, over two weeks later, there was a knock at the door of the okiya. But by time the maiko there opened it, no one was there but the fan. It was wrapped in blue silk with a dog's paw print in ink upon it. Mother asked around, but no one had heard anything about it and she never knew who or what had brought it back." Nitta looked around at those gathered.
"My second story happened to myself when I was a maiko. I was still not yet used to my hairstyle and had to have it redone nearly every day. After I had it done one morning, I came home for a quick nap before that evenings' appointments. But I didn't know that one of the maids had left the window open in my room. As I woke up, I heard a loud cheeping. I sat up quickly and two birds flew up. My onee-san came in and started laughing, showing me where the two birds had nested in my hair!" Nitta laughed.
"Okay my friends, which is my lie?"

Serena laughed, knowing Nitta had probably stumped her. "I am going to guess the first one is the lie, Nitta-san!"Serena said with a smile.

"I hate to be contrary to my Onee-sama," Mizu began shyly, "but I believe the second to be a lie? Oftentimes it is the more absurd story that is truthful though I can see why a bird might nest in a maiko's hair." One of her hands came up to delicately touch her own hair with a slightly-colored blush coupled with one of her shy, easy laughs.

Nitta laughed softly, listening to Serena and her younger sister.
"On the bright side, one way or another, one of you will have to be correct, yes?" Nitta took a sip of her tea.

Mizu giggled softly. "I never thought of it that way!" she confessed with a bright smile, "but that does show some advantages to being contrary to my Onee-sama," she jested lightly.

Tora smiled gently, "I agree with Mizu-chan, I believe the second one to be false." Tora blushed and sipped her tea.
((OOC: So sorry to have been gone... so much shopping to be done and I only have one phone line. I used to get on all the time at the school... now that I'm out, I can't. ^^'))
