That? I based it off of a circular cycle, in which things move through one portion, then return to another to be cleansed before being sent out again. The toxins are removed and the pure material is recycled for another go around. Like a dialysis machine.
Our goal with that was to make an afterlife (heaven/hell) view that would conform to -every- major religion that we could think of. No one specific view on the universe, but many coming together into one.
We did not use God anywhere in that system, and the gods that were included were like the D&D version and not the all-powerful creator. Instead we based our 'higher power' off of a 3-way split between responsibilities/domains: Life and death, the universe, and the flow of events; otherwise broken into Death, Creation, and Fate.
As for me personally? I'm the high priest of WALL.
