From Not Always RightQuote: Thank You For Shopping At ApocalypseMart Pet Store | Jensen Beach, FL, USA (It’s Halloween, and I’m dressed up as a vampire and wearing a pentacle necklace. The crew is planning on going out after work for a party.) Me: “Did you find everything you needed tonight?” Customer: “Yes, thank you. Can I just say that I think it was very nice of them to let you all dress up for tonight? I really like what you have on.” Me: “Thank you, ma’am.” Customer: “But don’t you think you took it a little too far?” Me: “Uh… took what too far?” Customer: “Well I understand that you’re supposed to be some type of vampire, but don’t you think that necklace is taking it too far?” Me: “Oh, that. That’s not part of my costume, I always wear that.” Customer: *loudly* “Well if you want to risk burning in H*** for wearing that devil worshiping symbol, that’s just fine with me… but they shouldn’t be letting you wear that here in a public place!” Me: *sarcastically* “Well, why shouldn’t they let me wear it? After all, we all practice together and I’m the high priestess. In fact as soon as you leave, we’re gonna close up the store, start a bonfire in the parking lot, and then dance naked around it until dawn.” Customer, to one of my managers: “Aren’t you going to do anything about what she said to me?” Manager #1: “Yes, ma’am. As soon as you leave, we’re going to close the store.” Customer: “THAT’S IT?!” Manager #2: “Of course not, ma’am. You heard the rest of our… plans.” (And with the kind of timing that only happens once in a lifetime, a stock boy unwittingly walks out of the back room while taking his uniform shirt off at the same time. The customer practically runs out of the store.)

Congrats MoonJeli.
I have nowhere else to say this, but it's been picking my brain ever since I thought about it in Roman Art and Archaeology. You are warned, possible cringing ahead.
We were looking at structures and methods attributed to Romans, when somethng struck my friend after looking after a particular structure.
A latrine.
Roman toliets were long benches which would have seats in them, no dividers. In fact, you'd often go there to basically have a crap n' chat. There's plenty of graffiti like "Cornelius Alter had a good s**t here."
Anyways, To fast foreward for a second, I must mention the story of Jesus crucifixion. A memorable moment is him being offered a sponge of wine and refusing it.
And this is where our brains began hurting. You see, at these toliets there a trough of running water at your feet, and a holder about every two seats. There's also only one reason why a Roman Centurion would have a sponge on a stick.
Toliet paper.
The Roman solution of the need to wipe was a sponge on a stick. Handy, and reusable. You see, you would rinse it in the trough at your feet and leave it for the next person to use. And in the army's case, I believe it was that you got one sponge on a stick per company of men, and yes, it was the centurion who had it (presumably I guess he, being of higher rank, got to use it first each day.)
Which forced us to ask the question, if there's really only one reason why a Roman centurion had a sponge on a stick, then is that the same sponge on a stick that was oftered?
I have an extremely overactive mind which sometimes causes pain unto itself.
Otherwise, my school is striking. I agree with their reasons, our admin is full of idiots who make idiot decisions, but I'm losing money each day. Boo hiss.

In what universe does a "friend" point out flaws that don't exist when giving a personal reference.

Oy. Coven is inbound tommorow; first time they've ever all come to my house for a weekend. I wish I felt like I was going to enjoy it. I just feel tired and somewhat apprehensive.
Reason I'm hosting: our bard is playing a couple gigs at the Beatles Festival here this weekend. So it's a good reason to have a more casual weekend here, than the usual harvest-and-feast at the covenstead.
Reason I'm not excited: cleaning. doing all the cooking. having the people who are apparently staying at my house not communicate with me at all as to arrival or details.
herding cats sucks dried sheep s**t.
