This is odd...isn't Xol suppose to be a bad guy? And why is this Gaitin fellow dictating the future? I don't think it's right that one individual forces the flow of time just because their character comes from the future. It's very easy to break the future, because your future is just one of the millions upon millions upon millions of possibilties. Gaidin does not know what someone, let's take SoulShard as an example, is going to do. Partially because the little bugger is insane, and partially because he reacts to what ever the situation is...Here we go, what if Lan was to suddenly take Truinthil up on his offer? Then you'd have a rampaging giant walking around, that wasn't in your little future...was it? Some characters do things at random, take Hashii or Mokubo for example, neither one of them are highly engraved into the story lines, so they're free to roam about and do what ever they please at random.

With the past taking a different course from Gatia's future, its no longer the future that will take place here. He just didn't want the same thing to happen here. Now the future is up to everyone.
