That got a chuckle out of Malik.
"the master never teaches a student all his tricks. not to mention what you could learn in a decade, he already knows how to nullify. but it will prove for some interesting entertainment."
And..runes require touch. lets see her try to 'fight fire with fire' when those hormones kick in full.
"And of course, Sevilin is a mercenary. I trust him only as long as I am the one providing the largest pay, and thus have to keep him at arm's length, despite his prowess or advantages. You, I can keep a much tigher leash on, so to speak, and have less to worry about betrayal."

A poke at Malik with her fork. "She's right you know, she can work cinnamon and you know how high that scores in my books. I'll count it all up to as 'I like to know who my intended is hanging around and what they are doing, so as to keep her safe and protected because I love her oh so very much', right?" A little laugh at that one, ah yes cinnamon making her mood more pleasant. But ew, we had to talk about Sevilin again. "So what, you think he would instantly turn should someone provide a better offer than you?" It was a stupid question really, she knew that answer. "I mean, I know he probably would...but instantly turning relatiant enemy against him or him against you...that's something I never want to see come to pass. Rune mages are horrors...my mother could sink her kingdom into the sea if she wished it so..."

The imps kind of looked at their cake, had a bite, and yeah, it tasted good, but cake looked so much better when it was smeared on the undersides of chairs, where the icing could have a good chance to harden to rock, and never come off. Oh yeah, it was pretty funny wtching people attack rock hard, caked on iceing!
So of course, that is what they did with the remainder of their cake.
And when their own was ready...they gobbled it down without a word of complaint, leaving none for the others. Which was just fine with everyone, they were certain. That's okay, they had put specific ingrediants in it.
They were trying not giggle, but that didn't work, so they had to hold their hands to the mouths.
They had made...bombs.
"Hunting and killing what?"
He rolled his eyes. "And what if these certain people decide not to give you their affections?"

He always had to go and spoil things didn't he? Couldn't ever leave her with her deluded illusions, now could he? She rolled her eyes, "Yes well in teh meantime I suppose it gives me something to do and I get to annoy him for two hours at a time every day. Woo hoo lucky me." She finished up her cake, it no longer tasted as good when Malik started talking and grinned at Piper, "At least someone is on my side." She shook her head at the imps but chose not to say a single word about it, just let it go. "I don't know. Sevilin might be better off elsewhere. He wouldn't be here to annoy me. But as long as Malik pays him, it should keep him happy."

"Anything I choose."
A ruffling of feathers at that next question.
"I don't know. maybe find another. Or just travel and hire myself out as a contract killer. I don't know."
A slight smirk.
"Keep you in buisness."
Malik rolled his eyes a bit, before growling lightly at the imps.
"Both of you stop your antics. or I'll make it so your bodies will get turned inside out."
Then back to the other two.
"This is the way of life down here. being prepared to meet a dagger at any and all angles. so yes, I am fully aware that even right now someone is trying to buy Sevilin's services from me. and that right now, I hold his allegiance only through money."

Malik got poked with a fork for his growling before she licked the icing off the fork itself. No excessive movement, and no foul temper. Because a bad mood for Malik meant lashing out. "Boys do try to be a little tiny tiny tiny bit toned down, I can't have you upsetting him." Though they listened more to Zahara these days then her. Then a look at Malik ith a snicker of sorts. "Well my oh my let us make sure to keep Mr. Master Rune Mage happy." Sarcasm was fun. Even cinnamon frosted cake was in compeition of her feelings on Sevilin Inthara.

She shot a glance at the imps and grinned at them then shook her head, "You two do need to tone it down just a bit. No need to destroy more than a few things today right? Call it a special occassion and give Malik a break. Just for a day." She ruffled both of their hair and then sighed, "Well I got up dark and early and I'll have to be up dark and early tomorrow as well and every day after that so I'll leave you two be. There's some things I want to do anyway." She headed back into the kitchen and got down on her hands and knees to clean up the mess the imps had made on the floor, the walls, the celing, the underside of the refrigerator, though how they'd gotten food there...she didn't want to know.

Sitting comfortable on the stone ledge, Tarathiel/Kimmuriel twiddled his thumbs with little thought. He was waiting it seemed, always waiting while in Deep Water. No wonder he left for twenty years, not much fun here. Fun...
Alas, to be once again intertwined in the eternal fray of elvish warfare, where the enemy was able to survive every trick, until their numbers wore too thin, and the drow unleashed a fury which they had thought ended. Oh, the losses in that war. The elves of course, lost almost every hero they had, save a few who were elsewhere during the war, which is odd to suggest, seeing as the war lasted the better part of a mellenuim. A few of the soldiers escaped, a ship or two, and a few peasents alongside them. Not a wizard walked beyond the walls, nor a drop of royal blood. That war, Tarathiel's birth, marked the extent of which he loved his life, or at least, marked why he didn't want to die. Or at least, five hundred years later, why he wanted to live.
Tracing his scimitar with his hand, ceasing his half amused twiddling, the drow contemplated how best to use his skills, or at least how to keep them from wasting away. How long has it been since General Tarathiel and his retuine, and when would the next challenge arise from the abyss? It seemed likely that he would never again have the fancy of fighting a warrior better than himself, as there most certainly were none to be found. He sighed and wondered what to do next. Shaking his head, he rose from the ground and walked along the edge to where his faithful Lavi was eating a mound of flesh he conjoured.
"So, I guess we should place the finishing touches on our defenses if we are to survive- What am I saying... Do you think I should merely stand infront of the gates alone and allow them to come to me?"
The dragon lifted his head and gave the drow a very wierd look.
"I guess not then. Why, not strong enough to tak'em all?"
The dragon shoke his head back and forth.
"I'd tire and be consumed?"
Again, the dragon disagreed.
"Because I might open the gates and lead them myself?"
The dragon nodded in agreement.
"Am I that unreliable?" The drow laughed, and mounted his dragon.

They looked at her with a puzzled expression. "Tone what down?" Honestly, they were just being themselves, not extra rampunctous or anything. Just harmless fune.
They started whispering, "Is this better?"
"Or maybe we are supposed to tone down on the low key?"
"HOW'S THIS THEN?"
They fell into a fit of giggles, as usual.
Moonstone gave him a bit of a look. "You're not going to flip out if she decides on another? Or none at all?" Some concern in his voice as well.
He rolled his eyes. "I'm certain I'll have enough busness as it is without you making more."

"I know my rights if she chooses another."
Yes, he knew the Vah customs. as Moonstone did. though Cymarron hadn't invoked it with Nailah..Onyx might.
"and buisness is buisness..now matter how you attain it."
A slight grin. one thing that Cymarron had been quite pleased about Elias and Nailah leaving was that Onyx had rather liked the idea of organized crime. being the boss behind smokescreens and shadows and backroom deals and hitmen. Probably becuase Onyx was the more aggressive of the two.
Malik only winced lightly at the yelling, before reaching over, taking one by the head, and smacking his head into the others.
"Let me put it to you this way. You do things to aggravate and make me feel worse, I do things to make your starflower's life worse. cause and effect. such as right now. starflower won't be spending to much time with you, since she has to clean up the mess you just made, and she has to study as well for Sevilin. the less destruction and mayhem, the more free time your star flower will have."

Piper rolled her eyes when Malik took to making imps bash heads, as she set her fork on her now empty plate. Let no crumb of that stuff go to waste, that was for sure. But she propped an elbow on the table and rested her cheek against her palm. "They are kind of cute you know...taking things literal and all...or rather absurdly the opposite. And do I have to send you back to bed or are you going to leave them alone? The more you mess with them the more fun they have and the more they bother you. They're allowed to bother anybody but you right now." Then a tug on him, seeing as he was done with his food. "Okay Mr. D'Vinn, back up to your room with you, you just have to bed out the rest of the day and night then tomorrow you can wander and work to your heart's content." Where upon that statement and not bothering to argue on it, Malik was herded upstairs to in fact spend the rest of the day and night in bed.

Zahara didn't do much else all day except clean. It took her quite a while to clean up the entire kitchen after the imps had finished destroying it. Discovering icing hardened on the bottom of the chairs had been a pure accident but once she'd realized it was there, she couldn't very well leave it there. A knife in hand, she'd chiseled at it until finally it was gone. Scrubbing and chiseling and washing tired her out so when the kitchen once again sparkled and the dishes had been washed and put away she dragged herself upstairs, took a quick bath and then fell into bed, too tired to worry about clothes and dropped straight into reverie praying that Sevilin was going to let her sleep.

Well...here he was again. It was dark and early...and she was lying there in bed, with him standing at the foot of it. What kept herself up so late that when she did crash she had no time to put clothes on or even get under the sheets? Amusing.
Though he merely stood there with arms crossed. He still didn't like that fact that she was indeed bare. But nevermind that right now huh? With a sigh he stepped toward the bed...and this time grabbed the sheets, yanking the whole damn thing.

Sheets are yanked and the body curled on top of them gets yanked as well until she eventually crashed to the floor. She lay there for a moment blinking and only glanced up at him briefly before using her arms as a pillow and laying her head right back down on them, closing her eyes. "Not this morning. Go away." she mumbled. It was too early, she was still tired and her arms were protesting at all the scrubbing she'd done yesterday.

"That's not your decision to make." A boot was then wedged under her ankle and kicked up so that he kicked up her leg and thusly grabbed her by the ankle...and started to drag her. Hey he said he'd do it everytime if he had to and he was going to. Drag her right out by her ankles.
"I do not see why you insist on making this so diffifult for yourself. Act like it's a torture, really...whining like some child about it." A roll of his eyes as he kept on and a little smirk as Nym decided to catch a ride on Zahara.
