Rogue landed the kick and snapped her head to see her smack the wall. She contorted to catch Edith's claws coming at her face, and flew back to the ground, Edith atop her. One set of claws caught the left side of her face, deep gouges of four claw marks from her ear to her nose.

Simple reaction had Rogue emitting a nasty roar, and an arm blocking the other set of claws to her face.

The smell of her own blood made her anger crank up a notch. She hoped Alexz was holding her own, but from the feel of it, the void was being played with on both ends of the spectrum, by Veroen and Alexz. Bad bad bad.

Rogue hit her left wrist quickly with her right hand releasing silver dust particles into Edith's face. She had to get the dog off of her. Rogue's eyes burned deep emerald as she shoved a knee into Edith's stomach to throw her off after releasing the silver in her face.

Meredith could honestly admit she hadn't been expecting Rogue to be crafty enough to have silver dust particles with her in case a lycan happened to come close range. That was her mistake and when the particles were released the lycan followed suit in emitting an agonized snarl of pain as a few of the particles hit her eyes. Lucky enough for Eden, there weren't enough to cause a ton of damage but the ones that did touch her eyes burned and embedded themselves into them like a tiny sliver making its way into the pad of one's finger tip. Needless to say it hurt like a b***h.

When the blow came to her stomach the lycan simply took it and hit the floor a few feet away from where she was kicked and attempted to nurse her eyes. At the very least she could see. It hurt to see but she could see and that was all that mattered. Sure she could try to beat a vampire elder by four senses alone but untrained in the area that might leave her with a distinct disadvantage. She'd have to be more careful when confronting Rogue head on.

Instead of charging the elder, the lycan growled and circled the vampire, waiting for an opening to make her move. She inspected Rogue for weaknesses, injuries, etc as she circled and snarled. Eden wasn't down or out yet that was for sure. She could take a much more brutal beating than this one and if Rogue didn't pick it up soon the lycan was going to prevail. Why she was still holding back even Eden didn't know. She just didn't have it in her to go all out even when Rogue was responsible for the death of her children.

Blood dripped from the deep gauges on Rogue's face from Meredith's claws.
She rocked back and leapt forward in a catlike motion, landing on her feet, spitting blood from her mouth. Rogue needed to feed more often, point blank.

Her eyes met Meredith's and glowed a bright emerald fire, she stretched her mind to see the aura spectrum and 'see' her emotions. She kept her front facing Meredith as she circled, never giving the dog her back. Rogue wasn't an idiot. Blood dripped from Rogue's arm and face.

Rogue roared at her, baring her teeth in a feral way and leapt at Meredith full force head on in a seemingly wreckless motion knocking Meredith into the desk on a corner. In a swift motion, Rogue reached under the desk to grab a gun with silver nitrate bullets out of the holster.
She swung the butt of the gun at Meredith's face, and at close range fired at her shoulder to cripple her more than anything.

The bullets fired toward Meredith's shoulder at point blank range were impossible for her to dodge and so she had to take the hit and she took it hard. As soon as the silver nitrate pierced her shoulder there was an inhuman roar that reverberated throughout the entire room. It was pretty clear that someone in the room wasn't too happy. The shot had hit her hard and Rogue's gun butt to her face had knocked her to the ground where she clutched at her now limp arm. She couldn't believe she'd allowed this to happen. Where was her fighting spirit? She wasn't going to win this fight this way.

Meredith went to pick herself up and realized that her one arm had been shot perfectly in the muscle and that the limb was completely useless and dead to her. She had to pick herself back up with a single arm, not that it was difficult but it was still annoying. The hunter leader stood and that was when the nitrate started to kick in a little bit. She started feeling drowsy as well as she was feeling a little weaker than normal. Sure the silver had hurt but she'd never been shot by a nitrate round before so she hadn't built any immunity to it. The hunter leader's eyes began fluttering and her movements were starting to become afflicted with increased grogginess.

She decided to do the only thing she really could do and pulled out her own hand gun and began firing some more UV rounds at Rogue. Eden had to keep the elder away from her and had to prevent her from pumping her full of UV rounds while she did so. So far this wasn't going as smooth as she'd seen it in her mind.

As Meredith scrambled Rogue unloaded the rest of her round aiming now for a leg. Rogue did not remain still as the last of the shots went out. She jumped over the desk and rolled on the floor, the gun empty before she hit the ground.

For a mere split second Rogue's back was to the dog as she released the empty clip and reloaded a new one that she held in her opposite hand.

She heard the shot fire before she felt it, the UV bullet ripping through her lower back on the left side, going completely through her body and exiting through the front. She arched forward and roared loudly, the pain searing and burning more than any normal bullet could. Though it exited, the bullet left UV leaked and burning the flesh it had touched.

She moved and aimed squarely at Meredith's other shoulder, and then shot at her leg. Rogue had had enough.

(( I'm seriously struggling to write anything decent for Meredith lately so I apologize for the crappy posts and I'm going to just have Meredith put down for this post so V and Rogue can resume and do what they wish to do with Alexz and Eden. (Yay for Alexz and Eden getting beaten up! We rule! XD) ))

When Rogue fired her shots at the hunter leader, Eden had already been preparing to move but due to the silver nitrate beginning to pump through her system she followed through with her thought a tad too late. The weakness and grogginess she was beginning to feel from the nitrate was slowly beginning to get to her. Rogue's shot fired perfectly into Meredith's knee cap and lodged itself into the bone. Had it been a solid silver bullet the thing would have simply blown a huge, painful hole through Meredith's knee cap but Rogue's intention was to pump her up with silver nitrate so her body stopped functioning as it was already starting to do. Her processing was already slowing down and she was starting to make simple errors that would cost her this fight.

Now with more silver nitrate lodged into her and Eden's system being a hyper fast flowing system, it didn't take long for her to feel the effects of the nitrate. Lycan's body temperatures were warmer than humans' due to their inhuman circulatory system working at least ten times faster than a human's. While it was beneficial for healing factors, it could also be used against them in the case of silver nitrate. Now some lycans were able to build up small immunities to silver nitrate so that it would take longer to affect them but Eden hadn't spent enough time to cover training her resistance so she succumbed to the toxic compound in a manner of minutes.

As Meredith collapsed, Rogue put a hand to her stomach assessing the damage. She would need to feed soon. She returned her attention to Veroen. Rogue had felt the Vampire Elder collapse shortly before Meredith did. She took this into account as she used her eyes to assess what was going on.

"I'd advise against Alexz's death." Rogue spoke the words softly as Veroen held his katana. She tried to ignore the void as it oppressed the room.

Veroen heard Rogues voice.

Did he heed her words? No.

He let out a dark chuckle, and then proceeded to thrust the sword down towards Alexz, in a stabbing fashion.

If Rogue wanted him to stop, then she would have to make him.

The Void Master was not about to stop now, so close to feeding his thirst for payment of his sorrows, and torment.

The void was so thick and tangible in the room. It had called for her in these last years, and the diamond incident left her stained with it. Each day she fought against it so it did not have total control.

The only way to save Alexz had her letting go of her resistance to it.

As he raised the sword, Rogue whispered to the void. Fine.
It entered her, and she would have to repay the void for its use now. Nothing without sacrifice. She knew this from Kyrre, the only true master she had found. At least with more control than any vampire she had ever known.

Rogue moved towards him with incredible speed, but projected the shadow growing within her at his sword, wrapping its grip around the hilt, stopping the sword from cutting into Alexz, but barely.

Her voice was thick with the void as she spoke into his mind, If you have any love left in you, let it save Meredith or you will have one more death, and it will not be on any elder's hand. Her blood will be spilled on your behalf and on your quest for retribution...
She held a hand back toward Meredith without looking at her, a shadow creeping up around her neck.

Veroen looked up as a strand of void stopped him from stabbing Alexz.

Impossible.
He spoke to himself in his blackened mind.

He stared at Rogue with a slight look of disbelief, and felt the Void move around Meredith's throat.

Indeed, the Elder b***h had given herself to the void as well, just as he. But there was a difference. Veroen had been with the Void much longer, and his connection was darker, and more twisted.

He glanced at Meredith, then back to Rogue.

A chuckle emitted from his throat, and slowly grew to soft malevolent laughter.

Then he spoke with a look of death upon his face.

"You will NOT harm her!"

Suddenly, multiple large black Void tentacles sprouted from the confines of Veroen's long leather trench coat.

These...things, were not shadow, but actual hardened flesh born of the void. The markings on Veroens body spread, until it was difficult to even see his skin color.

Not even a second after, the tentacles elongated, and swung at Rogue with alarming force and speed.

As they did this, he reached out his Void infested mind, and dispelled the shadow around Meredith's neck.

"You will not succeed in stopping me." He said in a deep, and twisted voice.

He pulled back his sword, and held it upright, and stared at Rogue with what now looked like black, infected eyes.

She stared out into more than just the room as the void cascaded through her being, through her gifts, through her age.
The void was branding her even as he spoke and blew off the shadows she had created.

The only living thing in this room is what the void truly wishes to kill.
She smiled to Veroen, and whispered to the void. The void craved to swallow the living even more than it craved the vampires emptiness. To destroy life.
Take her... She whispered to the void.

Black rose out of the floor almost like hands and pulled down on Meredith's neck choking the life from her.

Veroen's eyes flashed sanity for a brief moment as he realized what was happening.

Edith was going to die, lest he do something about it. And quickly.

"Let her go! This is between you and I, not her. You have already had your fight with her. And your Co-Elder still lives. If you kill her, I will do the same to Alexz, and then I will come after you with twice the vengeance I come with now."
His eyes showed fear, mixed with rage and hate. Yet his mind was functioning on a rational level for the moment.

If indeed he lost Edith, he would not only lose his significant other, but his only source of will to keep control of the Void within. If she was lost, then he would lose the will to fight the overpowering Void's desire to gain all control. And through Veroen, a 6-century-old Assassin, it would do great and terrible things if it was completely let loose.

"I killed none of your beloved, and we've all been wronged by our brethren vampires by being given this life at all. We are death to the living, and how many loved ones have you slaughtered in your quest and bloodlust. We are all guilty of the same crime.

You belong with us.

Edith does not have to die tonight. But if she lives, Alexz lives."

Rogue pointed her finger to Alexz on the floor.
She tried to remain still as the black crept into the whites of her eyes, leaving her irises glowing bright emerald like green flames. Her voice was deep and crisp with power from the void as it pulsed through her, delighting in the slide of Rogue's control to let the dark creep deeper into her being.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 26, 2010 10:06 pm

Veroen's eyes narrowed at her words. It was true. He was a cold blooded killer, and the amounts he had mercilessly slaughtered over the centuries was almost endless. Whether or not he liked it, he was no better than any of these Vampires.

He turned his head to the right slightly, out of frustration at the situation.

He wished to die. His existence had caused nothing but death.

But his immortal life could not be ended lest someone killed him, and none had accomplished it.

There was no escaping it. His uncanny ability to end life, and the endless Void that now had a death grip on him, as well as the immortal path he walked.

He was silent for a moment, but still aware of the Void growing within Rogue.

"So you would make the same mistake as I, and give in to the Void?"

He turned his toward her, to look at her with empty eyes, the result of the Void's unnatural growth within him.

Rogue felt the void grasping its tendrils within her even as Veroen spoke. It had been coming for her for a long time. The black diamond had opened the door wide enough that she questioned why she even held back.

In these moments that passed, time shed like molasses as if they were both outside of time. The welcoming release of her constant fight against this black force...to merely rest without fighting anymore....She could not let go. She could not release into this blackness.

She blinked once after what had seemed like an eternity.
"We shall see, won't we."
She smirked a smile only Rogue could possess and beneath her eyes fought for her very being to remain.

Rogue felt the weight of her fangs in her mouth and raised her wrist to her mouth and bit into the flesh there, though the claw marks on her face and wounds elsewhere bled out. She tore the flesh and held it out to Veroen.
The act was an ancient symbol to offer trust that she would not break her word. The act done by an Elder was even more, the act of deepest trust to seal a pact. His acceptance would mean he expose his own wrist and they share their blood, bonding the two to the agreement.

"Edith will not be killed by me, nor Alexz by you."
She held her wrist to him.
