Red's interesting in that minor variations heavily change how it's perceived, and in that used right, it contrasts and brings out other boss colors really well.
Meanwhile purple, yellow, etc. -- solid colors in their own right, don't really pop like that with brightness or hue tweaks.
Plus Omi shat on Venom Signet. They're posers.
