Amongst the exchange of threats between the two Elders and Leader, there was a subtle whisper of darkness, little more audible than the sound of a leaf blowing in the wind.
Then all background sound disappeared altogether, save for their voices.
It was quiet. Very quiet.
A small section of Meredith's shadow shivered, if only slightly.
Then, as Alexz thought of Veroen, and as if on cue, Edith's shadow grew, quickly, into a form much bigger than she.
Dark, malevolent emotions stirred within the room.
Then, Meredith's now large shadow broke in two, and the half that was not connected to her feet quickly moved next to her, solidifying and collapsing into itself, forming a black sphere, constantly rotating as its dark energies made it levitate into the air.
Then, in a explosion of shadow, it morphed into the dark, tall, and menacing form of Veroen.
The Void users darkened eyes glanced around the room that the 4 of them occupied.
Curious. Most curious.
The void using Assassin then laid his eyes on Rogue and Alexz.
A sadistic expression would normally have been appropriate in a situation like this, but the anger and resentment that burned within Veroen had grown, and rooted itself into his darkened soul, so only burning, dark ambition was clear in his eyes.
Long silver hair tied into a pony tail, and a long black leather coat complemented his darkened eyes.
He did not take his eyes off them, not even for a moment. What exactly was going on inside his head, however, was a mystery.
The Assassin said nothing, and was silent.
He had followed Edith here, without her knowledge of it.
Not many had seen Veroen, for he had been gone, simply marinating in the Void, learning, and growing in its dark embrace of emptiness.
Now, he was here. Ready to assist the woman that had the small bit of what was left of his heart, and get his revenge at the same time.

Rogue's eyes lit aflame with a burning emerald as she stared at Meredith seeing the wolf beneath them.
She hated the dogs.
It was then while Meredith spoke that she felt an unnatural disturbance in the room. She did not notice it before but it was as if she could smell sulfur coming from the shadows. She tuned her senses to the dark, and felt the pull of the void. She had known Kyrre long enough to know when he was around, moving about through shadow. She had felt the void call to her on many occasion...but this was no friendly call.
Veroen Rogue spoke into his mind. Why is he even here...why show his face now.
"Stand down? You have become quite the comedian, and quite the young inexperienced b***h of a lycan if I've ever seen one." Rogue smiled a mocking smile, teeth still elongated. "Is it true then...your offspring are quite dead? Such a pity. You have our condolences." She nodded her head with a slight frown, mockingly baiting her.

Veroen's dark eyes quickly locked onto Rogue when he heard her speak into his mind.
Rogue. Veroen said back into hers.
His dark and malevolent eyes narrowed, however, when he heard Rogue speak to Meredith in such a way.
The atmosphere slightly darkened, and the lights flickered a few times from the heavy presence of the Void. Nothing more happened, however. Veroen's connection to the Void was much different than most Vampires. The Void fed off his emotions, growing as his anger did.

Alexz laughed as Meredith lost her patience. Though she managed to keep her physical being in check, she could sense Meredith's rage and struggle for control. She had much to learn if she was going to be a successful leader. Losing one's cool, even for a moment, was never wise. Though she had seen Will and Krii lose theirs on various occasions, Meredith's reaction was far more amusing considering her confidence. She was far too young to be so confident in her abilities, even if she was a skilled hunter. But then again, maybe Alexz was just spoiled with the luxuries of time.
"My my, you are quite the dog. Tell me, Fido, how much bigger is your bark than your bite?" she smirked.
Her brow arched as she felt the stirring of the Void before her. She was familiar with the Void, having been in Kyrre's presence many the time. It did not intimidate her, though it should considering its ability to slowly engulf the souls which it has taken hold of. She had felt the Void's pull ever since the incident with the diamond but she resisted and didn't believe it was too much of a threat to her sanity. Perhaps she, too, was a bit too confident in her abilities.
Her gaze shifted to his, "How's that leash she's got you on there? Tell me, does your ******** ever leave the house without you in tow?"
Her eyes rolled, clearly the Hunter leader wasn't capable of handling herself without her lovestruck traitor by her side. If Rikku, Kyrre, and Rogue still considered Alexz to be a traitor after all these years, they wouldn't any longer now that Veroen was around, however long that may be.

The grin and glint which accompanied Eden's lips and eyes suggested that she chose to take Rogue's insult as a compliment in some screwed up manner or at the very least wasn't phased by it. She chuckled and gave a shrug before responding, "Hell. I figured it was worth a try. You never know, maybe you'd give me an easy time. That's alright if you don't want to but you're not getting out of this that easily. If I'm so inexperienced then you should be able to make quick work of me and be on your jolly ways. I was even nice enough to suggest somewhere not this place. If you recall last time, Rogue, it was quite a mess."
Rogue's comment about her children definitely got to her and the wolf within her wished nothing more than to bare it's teeth toward the elder but Eden kept herself calm. She was a young lycan but she'd gained control over herself rather quickly. Meredith wasn't ruled by her wolf unlike many associated with exploding after having temper tantrums and as opposed to responding to the elder's attempt to bait her she simply ignored her.
Meredith rolled her eyes at Alexz's comment. Like the whole being called a dog thing was new to her ... Pfft. "For having lived such a damned long time your insults really suck a**. I mean, you think you could come up with something original after how ever many years of existence you have over me. Use your all knowingness and wisdom for something useful so you don't make yourself sound like a twit." Meredith smiled from beneath her violet aviator shades and winked.
Edith's would-be muzzle curled up into a smile upon the elder emitting her profanity in attempts to catch her off guard and anger her. Hitting below the belt wasn't something that she'd put past any of these elders and while she exuded pure confidence she wasn't as cocky as she wanted herself to come off as. Yes she was being rash in challenging two elders on her own but despite Alexz's thoughts Meredith wasn't the hunter leader for no reason at all.
"Funny you should mention that, Alexz, seeing as the last time I decided to get in a friendly brawl with Rogue she had her own little ******** buddy right there to help her out. What became of him, anyhow, I wonder. Alasdair ... Arrogant Spaniard." She spat on the floor after mentioning him and decided to wait to see what Rogue would have to say to that. Alasdair had walked out of the city and simply disappeared one day. 'Likely a testament to Rogue's skills as a lover and to think she's had all these years to hone them.' Eden spoke the words telepathically to Alexz with an unnerving, primal grin.

Veroen's eyes then glanced over at Alexz at her insult to him. He said nothing, only glared with the intensity of the Void.
The atmosphere darkened, and grew heavy within the area, almost as if one was in the high altitudes of a mountain peak where the air was thin and oxygen was scarce. The lights flickered, and went out, only leaving the flashing lights of the club as illumination.
"So. Two Vampire Elders, only able to dish out insults, rather than do something useful? I was right to leave the Coven, seeing as it is led by the likes of both of you."
Veroens anger deepened when the name Alasdair was mentioned. His old comrade, who he now hated and vowed to kill one day, had betrayed him, and Veroen would not forget it. Neither would the deception of the Coven. The lies. The superficial actions. Veroen intended to end it.
A sliver of Void shadow rose from the ground, crawling up Veroen's leg, and stopping at his waist, hardening into his sheathed katana, and tying itself to Veroen's waist.
Another sliver rose, and broke in two, crawling up Veroen's body, and stopping inside of his leather long coat, hardening into his two specialized handguns, now filled with UV ammunition.
Markings became apparent on his extremely light colored skin, designs that crawled all over his skin, becoming carved designs of the Void, rather than simple markings.
All the while, Veroen made no reaction to the pain of the makings carving themselves into his skin.
Oh how his connections to the Void ran deep, and were dark.
He simply stared with growing sadistic eyes, daring either of them to back up their pathetic attempts at insult with violent action. Of course, he wanted them to.

Travis had never set foot in the club before, but curiosity got the best of him this time. Stepping in the club, he noticed the crowd, it was definitely a crowded and rowdy group. The lights and loud music, the dancing, it was a great place to enjoy the night but certainly not in a quiet or relaxing way. He sat down at a table and observed his surroundings, he listened to everyones words and thoughts and kept to himself. The energy in the room was enough to sustain, he refused to order a drink with a hand gesture and continued to look around and listen.

Through all the feelings and emotions, the energy throughout the whole club, Travis felt and heard more that came from outside in the city streets. Usually he wouldnt mingle with other species but he thought back to Madeline and the enjoyment she got out of instigation so he figured he would go out and see what the fuss was about...

Rogue's eyes flashed something dark at the mention of Alasdair from Meredith's lips. She did not take kindly to the mocking of things Meredith did not understand. The danger of any relationship with another vampire usually is just a quest for more power. As the lights went out, her eyes flickered, glowing emerald in the darkened room. Alasdair betrayed us both, Veroen. My only quarrel with the hunters runs as deep as their hunting of our species... Rogue whispered these things into Veroen's mind.
She could sense Veroen's emotions...with the words that passed, the depth of the void grew or fell based on emotion. She wondered if Meredith had any real idea the depth and darkness the void had on a soul. She felt the presence of the void in the absence of the diamond, forever staining her.

Alexz arched a brow as the lights went out; thank goodness for enhanced vision. Her thin irises glowed a brighter shade of silver.
"Frankly, your not worth the effort, both physically and mentally, hence why I'm not jumping at your little challenge." she said with a shrug.
She was never eager for a fight for multiple reasons. One, she wasn't a very violent person, unless thoroughly provoked, which at the moment she wasn't close to being. Two, as a psychic, she wasn't much of a physical fighter, all of her attacks were done mentally, so physical violence was out of character for her unless she was unable to use her psychic abilities. And lastly, she needed a reason, and the newly appointed hunter leader begging for a fight was not enough of a reason for her.
"Judging by your current state of mind, Veroen, you're not going to be the controlled assassin that you were so valued for being for much longer. At least you left before you lost your completely mind to the Void, now it's going to be up to Meredith here to clean up your mess."
He was dangerously close to being lost to the Void forever, he was past the point of redemption, in Alexz's opinion. Past the point of Meredith being able to redeem him, rather, it would take a far more stronger individual to bring him back, if that was at all possible.
The Void was always a dangerous thing for the vampires who possessed the ability to utilize it and eventually, the Void destroyed them all. It was a pity that they had lost such a skilled assassin, but there were others who would come to take his place, others who would possibly prove to be far more loyal than he was capable of being.
She had never done anything to personally betray Veroen, for whatever had been done to him had been done long before she had even risen to her position as one of the four elders. Yet another reason why she shouldn't bother with a fight, but his behavior in the club while Rogue was away was frankly unacceptable...and bringing the Hunter leader into the Coven several times was even more so.
If Rogue were attacked, however, she would have no choice but to engage in the fight, both for the protection of her friend and in defense of the Coven. It seemed as if she didn't have much of a choice anymore, she would always have to side with the Coven, even if it had done wrong. If any of the elders turned on the Coven, there would be anarchy. The Coven leaders had to be united for the rest of the Coven to follow suit. It was all rather complicated, but once again, she didn't have a choice.
"I suppose we should be thanking you for leaving, the mess you leave when you finally give in will be devastating...and we've already had enough bad publicity as it is, might as well share the love."

|| Hey guys. I know you're sore with me. My apologies, life and bad memory caught up with me. - bows solemnly - ||
Meredith's eyes were swift to adjust to the darkness seeing as she was aided by the fact that she was now a nocturnal creature. Though her eyes probably took a little longer to kick in than that of the vampires', she managed to remain aware of her surroundings and keep close tabs on both Rogue and Gabby through other means. She was not about to be caught off guard by two of the most treacherous, powerful beings within the city. Vampire elders were not to be trusted, period. This had been the lesson Eden had come to learn within her years of being a hunter and the situation she'd been through a few months ago spoke of that more than ever.
"Then you're free to stand there as I shred you limb from limb. I am not here to sip tea and have a conversation with you when I came here to put you in your place. You vampires are becoming too bold and too drunk with power." The growl of the wolf managed to seep into Meredith's voice making her tone all the more threatening.
Only adding to the eerie effect were Meredith's amber eyes which, when reflecting any source of light glowed with a venomous omniscient glow. There was to be no forgiveness and backing down here. She'd been pushed TOO far and now it was time to fight back and put the vampires in their place. They were not to kill her hunters, to hurt those she loved, to turn the public they worked so hard to protect against them. Whether or not the humans were sided with her, though, Meredith would fight for them but right now she was fighting for herself, her hunters and her loved ones.
'V ... thanks for being here for me ... It's more than I'd ever ask of you. Stay with me, though, please don't lose yourself, I need you.'
Without warning, Eden disappeared from the place in which she stood mere moments before and chose to target Rogue for her first strike. She hadn't heard what Rogue had said to Veroen but she knew that the elder was communicating with him and more than likely was trying to turn him against her or tear them apart. Perhaps there were vast differences between her and Veroen but Rogue was no judge of that nor anyone else and the wolf within her intended to silence the elder and keep her from attempting to psychologically screw with Veroen.
The lycan was absolutely stunning with the haste in which she used to reach Rogue. One bound had brought her right alongside the elder, something she likely would have under or over stepped mere months ago. It was clear that Eden had been training and training hard at that. She was a killer right now. No room for mercy or forgiveness when there was none she would receive from the elders. And as such Edith struck out at Rogue with an intense lashing of her claws, which if they contacted the elder would mar her face and cut her throat open easily due to the vitality and devastating force behind her almost effortless blow.

Veroen stared at Rogue, and said nothing into her mind. He would not speak of Alasdair. The very thought threatened to make Veroen lose control of his grip on the Void within.
But then Edith spoke. He slightly turned his head toward her, and nodded in acknowledgment.
Then he saw he launch herself at Rogue. Such speed, and agility. Veroen was impressed by his lover. She had gotten stronger that was for sure. However, Veroen was not one to waste opportunity. So he did not linger on Edith's attack.
Not even a second after Edith lunged, Veroen did the same, except at Alexz. He was silent as he pushed his entire body weight forward, and began a swift sprint towards the psychic Vampire. As he did so, he blocked out all thoughts, and let the Void loose. Mind reading would do no good now.
Oh it felt so good to let loose. He had been waiting for this moment for so long....
His face grew dark, and twisted into a subtle smile, as he drew his sword, slicing horizontally at the Psychic Vampire Elder.

Rogue could sense Meredith's rage burning. The sight of her eyes gave her away. A smile crept to Rogue's lips as she spoke of tea and conversation. She wished all the species diplomacy could really be that simple.
Her eyes lit aglow as Meredith made the first movement. She reacted, as Rogue was trained to do for hundreds of years being a Death Dealer. Get away from the claws was one of the first obvious tactics as they could be devastating.
She moved in a beyond swift motion falling to the floor as Meredith approached and upper kicked into Meredith's stomach, trying to use the wolf's momentum against her, throwing the wolf in the direction she was headed anyway at the nearest wall.

Alexz prepared herself for an attack within the second that spared between Veroen's attack and Edith's. Though she was a capable fighter, physical violence was not her strong suit; she would have to rely on other tricks...other tricks that now did not include mind reading...oh what a nuisance.
She'd have to focus on the psychic elements of her attack at a later time, however, since avoiding Veroen's sword quickly became a priority. Or perhaps she could play with his mind a bit at the moment. Her eyes flashed with excitement as she quickly formulated a plan within the milliseconds of time she had before the sword reached her.
Alexz replaced herself with an illusion as she slid to the floor, the sword passing dangerously close to her skin. Her clone illusion jumped back, the tip of Veroen's sword making contact with her torso and drawing blood; her clone snarled, removed a dagger from her boot, and lunged at Veroen. Having made herself invisible, Alexz used her position on the ground to her advantage; she used one leg to kick at Veroen's extended knee with full force, which if successful would shatter his kneecap, while the other leg moved to sweep him off his feet.
The attacks of Alexz's clone would do no damage other than serve as a distraction. Since Alexz was not the strongest of fighters, she often had to compensate for her attacks; each physical attack came equipped with a bit of psionic energy which would make her moves more forceful than they would be on their own.

Eden wished it could have been that simple as well but at the moment she was beyond negotiating and trying to make peace. If the vampires thought they could do as they pleased without any consequences then they were in for a rude awakening. An example needed to be made and who better to make an example of than the very elders and leaders of the vampires? Sure this was probably an extremely bold move but Meredith's sheer desire to succeed overrode the fact that there was a possibility that things wouldn't play out the way they played out in her mind. However, despite her seeming ignorant and rash she knew very well that she was facing up against dangerous foes and did not for one moment underestimate them.
Rushing a Death Dealer probably hadn't been the brightest of moves and Edith knew that quite well but she chose to open that way anyhow. Had Rogue possessed some silver bullets or nitrate bullets they probably would have tore through Meredith no problem with the momentum she'd brought on but the lycan had trusted her instincts and apparently they'd won through this round. Rogue either didn't have silver bullets on her or she was saving them for when she actually felt cornered. How sweet of her to not blow a hole through her brain. She might have to thank the elder for that later though she was pretty sure Rogue didn't have such a weapon on her at the moment or it probably would have been through Meredith's skull by now.
As Meredith reacted to the fact her claw swipes had missed and that Rogue had hit the ground she'd planned to drop all of her weight onto the vampire but a sharp kick to the stomach that came close to opening a few of her stitches informed her that was not going to happen. While she hadn't been able to avoid Rogue's kick she did have the time to bring her claws back and she clamped onto Rogue's ankle firmly, planning to bring the vampire for the ride. Meredith hit the wall, her spine making a grotesque popping sound as she hit the wall but she'd managed to use a little more momentum to hurl Rogue toward the wall just above her as well. If Rogue hit the wall it was likely she'd hit it with the back of her head since Meredith had taken the vampire's feet out from under her.
