Riley sighed quickly, finally turning to give him a slit glare. That's not what I meant, but.. I do owe you something for that one. I meant.. well you know what I meant. Did I do everything you wanted? Can you, ah.. delete it now? Her glare turned pleading for just a moment, before she neutralized her expression and returned her gaze to the party. It fell specifically this time on Calder and Colette. I think I went above and beyond, if you ask me.

"Oh." Blue eyes narrowed as they scanned the crowd. Yes. Many ships sailed. And they sailed well. The siren turned and smirked. "I think my mindflaying friend-" He flipped open his scarephone. "That for all your hard work, you shall have your payment." The phone was turned over. The image of Riley in her sugar induced high no where. It wasn't in his recent saves. His his temporary deleted folder. It was utterly erased. Meaning- "I got rid of the picture DAYS ago." He was smug. Smug as a bug in bed. It was a tad mean trick he played but looking at the couple on the dance floor, it was worth it. "So you have nothing to worry about, provided we keep you off the Icky Stix and away from portable cameras."
He smiled as innocently as he could. "And look at all your hard work. I'd save it was worth it. All these couples, dancing, having fun. Really, Couldn't have been done without you." A few pairings were not his personal ships, but if it sailed it sailed. He would never topple a ship on purpose. Not unless it needed to sink. Sinking ships was his second job. Getting ships to sail was his current priority.
"The some of these ships might even 'dock into port' tonight." He giggled.

Riley leaned in, blinking in surprise at the lack of the photo she had accidentally sent to Israfel on that terrible day. She looked at him for a second, before breathing a sigh of relief and wrapping her arms around him in a hug.
She didn't quite see the benefits of all her 'hard work' under his careful guidance and watchful eye, but Riley did what she felt she had to do.. and in the process she managed to have a good time. Sort of. Except for everything to do with Calder.
She pressed her face against the top of Isra's head, and snugged him.
I don't even want to think about that. She admitted in response to his last comment, and pulled away.
Well. Then. I think I shall retire for the night. Enjoy the rest of the dance, Captain. She leaned in and brushed her hand through his hair, then gave Lucien a quick glance. I'm confident you will.

Inside, there was a tiny puff of pride in knowing the planning and plotting they'd done had paid off. Much of it he owed Riley. She was the charismatic one, the one who could get people to hook up. All he could do was think about the ships. She was the one to build them and set them up. All that was left now was to watch them sail on the ocean called love.
Speaking of- "Lucy!" Getting back up, the siren went and rubbed his cheek to the boil. A sign of affection. "Is there anything you wanted to do? Or or...You can come to my dorm!" He sounded excited. "I got a new game for a ScareStation!"

Riley watched Israfel bounce off, warranting a tender expression. She was careful to shrug it off before they snatched the title of Scariest away from her, and returned to Malodore once more.
I think, perhaps, we are free to go if you wish. Shall we collect Luce and retire for the night? Or was there something further you'd like to before we go?

Malodore smiled as Riley returned. "I believe retiring is an excellent idea. I feel nearly as tired as Luce, which is saying something..." It glanced over at the minipet corral, where the pup was still flaked out on her back. "While I do not require sleep in the strictest sense, the mind enjoys it from time to time."

Riley nodded and headed over to the minipet corral, looking down at the sleeping Luce. I bet she appreciated the exercise, after having missed out on running for a while. We should make up for that. She smiled down affectionately at the pup, but took a quick look around to make sure no one was watching her before returning her gaze to Luce. Yes, tomorrow morning. We definitely will.
She leaned in, and scooped the pup up carefully, trying not to wake her. She curled the sleeping Luce in one arm, and curled her hand around Malodore's arm with the other.

Luce made a soft noise in her sleep, tail thumping lightly against Riley's side as she rolled into the ithilid's arm. She did not, however, wake up... she must have really tired herself out playing with the other minipets!
"I'm sure she'll greet you with great enthusiasm when she's not exhausted," Malodore said, giving them both a fond look. "Shall we?"

I don't mind. She can sleep as long as she needs, I'm in no rush. She took one last look at the room for a moment, committing it to memory before heading out with the two.

Lucien sort of just floated around when Israfel wandered off to talk to Riley, patiently waiting for his bird to fly back to him. In a figurative sense, of course. Although Lucien wasn't about to object to Israfel suddenly learning how to fly and falling into his arms or something like that. He waited, and waited and after a bit the air spirit's attention started to dwindle until he ended up hearing Israfel say "The some of these ships might even 'dock into port' tonight." before Israfel came back! He immediately brightened, nearly forgetting about his curiosity about the ships and port.
"Israfel!" He said, smiling as the bird rubbed his cheek against him. Was there anything he wanted to do? Oh, certainly. Were any of these things open to the air spirit's mind? Certainly not. He was just happy to be able to spend time with Israfel and shook his head.
"I'm just happy to spend time with you," he admitted. "Shall I accompany you to your dorm then?"

"I'm sorry about that, by the way," he murmured, adjusting his grip on her back as she leaned closer. Human fingers making absent little circles along the silk of her kimono. "For disappointing you." It had been the driving force of the last few hours worth of speedy unpacking, and though he was indeed on the brink of finishing it all, he'd left the last of it untouched in favor of attending the party. Nothing big, just nick-knacks and personal touches that could be found places for tomorrow. "Glad you're having fun though." At least he was being a good date, albeit a very late one.
She pressed closer again, and the jikininki glanced down at her curiously, but didn't comment. Merely enjoyed the closeness and the warmth. Red on black eyes raising to give the room around them a glance. Watching the other couples, picking out faces he knew from groanspring.
Until Junko mentioned another name. "Maladore?" The name wasn't entirely familiar, though he had the feeling he'd come across it at least once before. He couldn't recall a face to go with it though. That innocent little comment made him grin again. "Good, glad I haven't turned you off of it with my poor dance skills."
Something else? Was there anything else to do here? He glanced around again, noticed the wreck of the snacks table and the scareoke machine then shook his head. "Not unless you had something in mind."

As West grinned the djinn did in turn, exotic features lighting up happily. "We would be incredibly bored," she agreed, directing him expertly around the floor. He really wasn't half so bad as he thought, least not when his head wasn't getting in the way of his feet.
That is until an wayward step sent them off balance and both were forced to catch themselves before winding up in a tangled heap on the floor. Well, it had been going well. As he spoke against she smiled up at him, both sly and guilty. "Duly noted." She mused, allowing him to slow their pace into something less formal. "You were doing quite well though, before that tiny misstep." Dark brows rose for emphasis.
Chuckling softly, she let the topic of dance go and gave her hip a little upward twitch where his bandaged hand was resting. 'How's your hand?"

Calder finished his cookie, dusting off his hands as he looked about. "Don't know what to expect. I've only been to monster parties, mainly other kelpies. Held outside, under the stars and moon, big fires, everyone being loud, jolly, singing off key and not caring about how they look or what they do. If you liked a ghoul or boil, you just went for it. Its nothing like ….THIS." he gestured to the whole of the dance. Everyone seemed uptight, overly concerned about every little move, and it lacked a certain energy. Some people looked uncomfortable (not saying he wasn't), but there was a lax of commotion, movement, and spirit. "I sometimes like those dances because, even if you feel bad or out of place, you can hide in all the craziness. It just seems so…..closed in in here." He said, glancing back at her. "…but it's still romantic in that slow-dancin sort of way."
He looked out and saw that the music had died down, a gnome was stumbling off somewhere, and most couples were linking arms and calling it a night – or maybe getting ready to make it a later night someplace else. As far as dates went, his one with Colette hadn't been bad, and he guessed it was better than moping in your room.
"I do know, however, when a party ends. Seems everyone's heading out." Easing down, he offered his elbow for her. "Would you mind if I took you home, Miss Colette?"

Colette was on her third and last cookie by the time Calder finished speaking. She had listened and tried to envision what monster parties were like through his description and it sounded like it was probably much more exciting than this - she had heard once before they were close to festivals too. Most likely more than she could handle though, she figured. Swallowing the last of the cookie, she said, "A party like that sounds.. fun."
Following his gaze, Colette looked out at what was left of the dance. The number of students present had indeed dwindled, and a few were actually leaving now. Colette was taking his word on it, but it did seem that it could be over. Nodding, she took his elbow. "Alright. Yes, please. The Reaper dorms." Well, he could probably tell. Probably everyone could. She wasn't sure why she bothered to specify the dorm either.
So this was the end. It wasn't bad, she figured. Everything was pretty alright, but she didn't get why some people made a big deal out of it. There was no special feeling of glee from a dance like the books said. Colette didn't know what it was - her time with Calder wasn't terrible and he definitely wasn't what she saw in detention. Did she forget to do something crucial? Miss something? Maybe she was just doing it wrong. Why the heck did she listen to a book? Colette just hoped Calder had an okay time, she wouldn't let up how off special and neutral it felt. "Thanks for everything, by the way!" she blurted out.

Junko opened her eyes and turned them up toward Seiji as he apologized for disappointing her, smiling brightly and shrugging a bit; she wasn't shrugging off his apology, but it really wasn't a big deal to her now since he was here. "It's alright! You had important things to do. And besides, better late than never~?" She chirped, shivering a bit as he traced circles against her back and blushing. That felt odd, but a nice odd? Though it was something Yaya would do, so why she was blushing she had no idea. The mystery remained unsolved! Maybe she'd talk to one of her friends about it or something. She nodded at his words, closing her eyes again. "I am!" Would it be too weird or cheesy to say she really was having more fun now that he was here? Because it was the truth. Everyone here had a date, so to not have a date made it kind of less fun for her considering she didn't want to just intrude upon the things her friends were doing with their own dates. Silly Junko, stop being so polite. Stop that.
"Mhm! Malodore, he's a friend! He came here with Riley. I thiiink he's an undead, but she's definitely a demon." Junko explained cheerfully, smiling as she did. They were her friends! What did their race matter? She giggled and opened her eyes again, leaning back to look up at him and tilt her head. "This isn't bad at all! We're still standing, aren't we?" She teased him, looking and feeling a lot more comfortable now. This wasn't so bad! She was here with a friend she'd met on groanspring, regardless of all the flirting they'd done. Yup.
Hm...did she have anything in mind? Junko looked around herseld, not seeing anything she wanted to do right now. "We could eat your chocolates?"
