Isiah's eyes widened as Q jumped on top of Tsurai, scrambling to his feet. "No!" He hissed. Not for the same reason of Jiden of course. If the Alpha didn't see it, it didn't happen. "You can't do this now!" He yanked Q off of him. "Kaegan isn't here," he hissed. "And you can't have a fair fight in here, too close of quarters." He kept one hand free should Tsurai get up in an attempt to go for either of them. "Make your move tonight," he hissed, nearly under his breath. "Not now."

Bornes was yanked off Tsurai, and gave a loud growl, followed by a snarl.
"Rules!" He hissed.

Tsurai had held his breath when he was pinned. He was ready to kick the hybrid off him, but Isiah had done the job instead. He rolled to his feet and grabbed Jiden's hand, yanking his friend out in no gentle way.
"Let's go run laps," he hissed. "This isn't fun anymore."

Jiden gave a pleading look toward Isiah but was pulled along by Tsurai. He was thankful he got out of there, but not so much that Tsurai was all worked up now.

Tsurai began to jog, then break into his run around the ramshackle of a town. Jiden put a hand on his hip with a sigh and watched, knowing if he left to do his own thing, Tsurai would get pissed at him. Playing babysitter wasn't all that fun half the time. He wondered how Kaegan did it.

Once the others had left, Bornes put out his hands and pushed Isiah away from him with a scowl. He got back up and sat back on the cot, breathing through his mouth in agitation.
All for nothing.
All for nothing.

Isiah groaned, leaning against the doorway, rubbing his face clean in his hands. He wished that Q was a little less headstrong sometimes.. "You need to ask me things before you just barrel out there," he began, quietly and gently. He knew Q was agitated and while he didn't want to make it worse he had to make his point now.

Bornes growled. "Ask you, Ask Kaegan. I am no prisoner. I can make my own decisions!" he shot back.

He thwapped his tail against the mattress in frustration and looked away from Isiah. "Kids come in with no respect," he grumbled, "Wake me up. As if I wouldn't make them pay for it."

Isiah quirked an eyebrow upward, shoving his hands into his beltline, his thumbs sticking out. "You and I both know that's not why you did it," he hissed. "Otherwise you wouldn't have been asking about his rank." He grunted inwardly, turning his eyes away. "Say what you want. They're just stupid kids, what do they know?"

Bornes growled again, his tail thwapping louder once on the mattress in answer before in continued its general 'frustrated' routine.

The hybrid waited a few more seconds before groaning in defeat and laying back on the cot, his back to Isiah. His tail still thwapping away.

"Go away," he said, placing his arms under his head in a makeshift pillow, his tail finally beginning to slow in its onslaught against the mattress.

Isiah groaned. "Yeah, ******** you too, dumbass," he hissed. He was starting to get hungry, and therefore very cranky. He dug through the duffel quietly as he could, finding the last of the spam cans before exiting their little hovel to walk a 'block' or so down, sitting down in the nearest shade before opening the can up with a growl in his belly. Spam sure tasted good win there was nothing else to eat.

Kaegan reappeared from his domicile at long last, wincing against bright sunlight as he saw Tsurai running. He turned to Jiden, confused, eyebrow quirked up. "... Why is he running? I didn't tell him to." There was a long pause. "What did he do?"

Jiden snorted, right hand in jacket pocket, left hand free. He turned to Kaegan once he came over.
"Ohhhh," Jiden groaned. "Smartass decided it would be so fun to bug Mr. Werewolf since you were being so unfair." He threw up his free hand in agitation.

"Bornes was sleeping, then attacked Tsurai after asking about rank. Isiah pulled the guy off him in time, but I guess Tsurai decided to run laps instead of waste his energy on the dog man."

Jiden shrugged, a frown on his face. "He's making me watch, of course. Otherwise you know I wouldn't be here," he grumbled.

Kaegan folded his arms in his typical fashion, sighing with exasperation. "Unfair, huh," he mumbled. "Who knew he'd have such a soft spot for canines? He certainly doesn't treat Jane special. He breathed through his nose, harshly. He knew what he did was right, in his mind. He had to make it clear that obedience to the pack came first before personal needs, and that disrespect toward him would not be tolerated under any circumstances. Tsurai didn't understand that yet, but he would.

"The uh. 'Werewolf.'" He began. "He wants Tsurai's slot. He doesn't know him well enough to know better," he hissed with a slight smile. He knew Tsurai was rough around the edges but he'd been training the boy. He knew his technique- or he did when he chose to remember it. "It should be interesting to see." He paused just a bit. "How'd he do?"
PostPosted: Fri Dec 12, 2008 11:26 pm

Jiden shrugged again, choosing not to explain why Tsurai had said Kaegan was being unfair. Jiden didn't care either way- he hadn't seen what happened that morning, and Bornes' life was of little concern to him.

Although his curiosity was still piqued, he didn't like dealing with assholes. Unless Bornes became more compliant, Jiden could ignore his interest in the hybrid.

"I figured," he sighed at Bornes not knowing better. How long had they even been here? A week at most? Tsurai had been rather well-behaved lately.

"There wasn't much of a fight. Bornes was on the cot and Tsurai was standing next to it. The guy turned around and basically tackled Tsurai to the ground. Isiah pulled him off right after."

Jiden's eyes wandered to Tsurai, who had begun to slow his pace from a run to a walk. The boy was coming this way.

"Well," he said with a relief. "Guess my duty's over now." He turned on his heel, but waited before actually stepping away. "If that's okay with you," he added, seeking permission to leave.

Kaegan nodded once, relieving Jiden of his duty as it were, smiling as Tsurai approached. "I hear you got into a little tussle and let someone tackle you." Kaegan wasn't exactly forgiving of his pupils- which was something Isiah knew. He was going to see how much of the 'fight'- it really should be called more of a brief confrontation- Tsurai would reveal to him.

Jiden gave a quick "heh" and a lazy salute as he walked off. "Later, bossman."

Tsurai walked up to the two of them with a smile on his face, but that faded once Jiden began to walk off. He went ot follow, but Kaegan had already addressed him. He exhaled loudly before crossing his own arms over his bare, pale chest.

"No big deal," he turned his head away, ashamed to admit it. He had been caught offguard. Tsurai did have a softspot for the werewolf. Bornes had treated him rather nicely before. He was conflicted on what to do now.

He knew that Bornes may fight him later, where Kaegan could see, and Tsurai didn't want to. He hoped Bornes wouldn't. He wondered briefly if he could just lose on purpose, but that thought quickly left him because he knew he wouldn't be able to, even if he wanted.

"Wouldn't have happened if you didn't punish him like that. He's all grumpy about it!"
Tsurai spoke like an eight year old. He probably had the mental cpacity of similar or less than that. Who knew why.

"He was hoarding food, Tsurai. I would have punished any one of ours who acted so selfishly in an identical manner. You know that." Tsurai had a bleeding heart- not something Kaegan was exactly foreign to, but he knew when to draw the line, and Tsurai didn't. Especially if it was someone he had 'attached' himself to, and the 'werewolf' was no exception.

"I want you to be ready for what's coming. Probably tonight. If I were you instead of wasting your energy I'd get some sleep."
PostPosted: Fri Dec 12, 2008 11:42 pm

Tsurai looked down as he was being scolded, but was quick to snap back. "If he was hoarding food why did he bring us back that huge duffelbag full of it? That doesn't make any sense."
A lot of things didn't make sense to Tsurai. But Bornes had been nice to the boy and he wanted to defend him.

"And I don't want to fight him," he turned away again, his head was still low, however. "I can't sleep in the middle of the day either, that's stupid."

Kaegan had practiced a mixture of leniency and quiet discipline- he knew when to push and when to let him 'learn on his own'- usually a painful lesson. And unfortunately, it looked like the boy wanted to 'learn on his own' this time. He gave a long tired sigh. "Just an old man's advice, tsurai, that's all. Someone whose won a lot of fights. More than you'll win in your lifetime."
