A little pout, she could play that part rather well. "Well that's just unfair. Why do I have to be good for it?" She shot back in the same tone. Though she'd never admit it, she was enjoying their banter, it had been far too long since she'd had it. Her eyes narrowed dangerously at the nickname and resolved to come up with one for Sev. "Oh but Darling I do'nt think I like it very much. I'd much rather reverie longer."

"Because bad girls don't deserve ponies. That's why." What was this becoming? Some kind of childish banter about ponies and what in the hell else? Okay...this was getting kind of weird. But he only tapped the books with a finger. "I'll leave these here for you. Do I expect you to read then in your free time? I could care less."
Though a satisfied grin at her eye narrowing, knowing the nickname was driving her crazy. Except the turn around on him was a new thing and at first he didn't know how to come back with that. But as in most thing, he recovered himself quickly. Was that really the best she could do. "Well...too bad for you huh? Things don't always revolve around you."

Malik got through with his paperwork, and was back to crossing his arms, drumming his fingers on hsi other arm, and staring at nothing. this was maddening. it was like being in a prison cell. He prefered the pain. the more pain he suffered and got used to, the more he could endure before that pain brought him down. it was like exercise.
"What are you working on over there?"

Freaking paperwork demon. Though he caught her attention with his question. What he had to butt into what she was doing to appease his own annoyance? He couldn't read a book or something. Did she feel guilty? No. Did she care that he was angry at her? No. They were doing this her way since he always got his. She'd eventually let him up...but not right now. "You have your business and I have mine. And I'm perfectly capable of working my own deals and bumping up my own stock." But for the moment she set aside her own work on the desk, pulling her legs up to sit crosslegged on the chair and leaning forward so that her elbows rested on her knees and her chin in her hands. She was quite surprised he hadn't really snapped at her yet. "You just work faster than I do...should slow down and you'll have more to occupy yourself with."

"I was going slow. when you've done this as long as I have even slow is relativly quick. And I know you can handle it, I just wanted to know what it is you were handling. Curious, that's all."
Back to drumming fingers.
"and besides, I have nothing better to do with my time at the moment."

"What you think this horse thing is going to be just a hobby for me? No I'm quite serious. Have to find something to do with all my free time as as well." Though she watched him for a second before sighing and shaking her head lightly."You can be mad at me all you want Malik." He was at the very least irritated with her to no end. "Why don't you read a book or something, just put your mind somewhere else. Or we can talk if you prefer. Do tell what I can do to make your day more fulfilled so you don't sit there and brood all day. It's a scratchy feeling." Scratchy feeling...in the back of her mind of course. But she was quite used to it.

"Some bad girls get rewarded in very nice ways." She ran her fingers through her hair and fixed that clip that she forever had in her hair. She tapped a nail on the books and shrugged, "We'll see." Then she just stared at him. "Sev, there's no reason to start that early. Look we're done and the rest of the house isn't even up yet. You shouldn't be out in the dark like that anyway, not as far as you have to come. Stay home, reverie another couple of hours and we'll start later."

A raised eyebrow...what the hell was with the conern? Or rather a false conern that she could use to make him drop his guard with some false sense of trust and security. Never took a break did she? "You need the quiet enviroment to study. How can you possibly pay attention and absorb when there's constant movement about you?"
See, there was a method to his madness. "And you have no idea how far I travel. I could be living two feet from here and you'd never even know. But that's no matter anyway. This is goign to be the time, so don't complain on it."

"Unless you took a roundabout way home that day, I do know. I may not know exactly where you live and if you decided to just wander around the Underdark to throw me off you're more of an idiot than I originally thought. But alright, just don't expect me to be up because that's far too early for me. My body's not conditioned to it, late nights, lots of things going on you know." She smiled when she said that as though she had a great memory she was recalling. That secretive smile that spoke of mysterious meetings and blatant displays of lust.

Where her look spoke of possible triumphs with her 'late night activities' his took on that look of masked disgust tinged with some loathing...though he hid the bulk of the expression behind carefully constructed facades. But that only turned into a sneer and a snicker.
"Well then, I'll just have to pull you of bed by your ankles every morning then now won't I? If you show a further fight about it, well I might as well pull you all the way downstairs. Won't give you any time to dress either."

She shrugged, "If that's supposed to motivate me it doesn't. I'm not ashamed of my body, if a man wants to look, let him look. But I can guarantee you if you pull my naked body down the stairs and refuse to let me dress, we won't have the quiet atmosphere you're looking to get." She tapped her nails idly against the table and shook her head. "I really don't see why you're pushing the issue so much. What's a few more hours? I'm sure there's another place we could find to study. Malik has how many rooms in this place?"

Okay that was it. A hand gripped the back of her chair, yanking it away from the table and then picoting it back on one leg to make it turn so that she was sitting in it and facing him. Then he was leaning down with hands gripped on the arms of the chair and right up in her personal space.
"You will stop arguing about it. I'm sick and tired of your guff. This is just the way things are going to be. Don't like it? Tough. But when Malik asks for your progress and I demonstrate for him your ineptitude for the subject, it will be you who will pay for the travesty."
Strong words on such a simple subject. Why not another room? Becuase Sevilin refused to be in another room behind a closed door with her. And he didn't like small spaces either.

Hmm, what a nice display of temper. She tried really hard not to smirk but she couldn't help it. SHe'd gotten to him, ruffled his composure the way he did to her. And seh felt damn good about it too. Shrugging she didn't back away or let her eyes widen, merely met his gaze, her own bored. "Ineptitude with it?" A shake of her head. "Tests and time will tell now won't they Sevilin." She'd learned quite a bit today alone and it had been two hours into their little training sessions. Granted she had a lot to learn but when it was designated study time, she actually studied. She'd have to get him to relent on the breaks issue. Her eyes glazed over after a few hours with those books. It fascinated her to no end but reading the same hting over and over and over had a tendency to drive you insane. Though seh did keep that smirk, "It sucks Darling doesn't it?" Referring of course to being gotten to.

"I'm an old soldier. not a scholar. my books and studies were of other races for the purpose of crushing them underfoot. breeding and culture of the Tier'Dal is all about an iron fist in a velvet glove...with the velvet wearing thin."
A lean forward.
"I'm not angry at you. I know you have your reasons. just as I have mine. I'm irritated at this makeshift prison. I'm used to handling Broog and the necromantic experiments and various magical artifacts in my home, and now I am forbidden to do such."
Running his hand over his face and back through his hair.

Damn it. Damn it. Damn it. He'd let her get to him...and she knew it too. Well didn't that just make his day so beliveably fantastic? Please do kill him now. But he took a moment to angrily stare at her before backing off of her and her chair. He wanted to hit her so badly at thus point right now. Her and her smart a** mouth.
"Tell if you can do anything at all. You're a failure of a priestess...I'd be a shame to know you were a failure at every other profession you choose." Like most with bad tempers...he knew how to back off then hit below the belt with sly comments.
"Gee didn't know being in a room with me and lazing around was akin to prison, I'll do well to remember that now won't I?" A little, irritated? Yes. And she pretty much mimicked his action as she leaned back in the chair, letting her head fall back so that she was staring at the ceiling. "You've got to learn to just relax and do things just for the hell of it without any real purpose behind it. If I did what you did I'd drive myself crazy. Your house is not going to fall apart just because you have a day in bed Malik."
