Icarus went to a window and stared out at the darkening sky. it looked like it was going to rain. "Why do you want to know so badly? Why is it so important to you?"

"Because everything about you is important to me, and I don't want anything to happen to you." Jethrow said without skipping a beat. Her background was indeed important. He knew there were people out there who wanted to hurt Icarus, and he needed to know about her in order to find out why. Or else.... She might get killed.

Icarus really tried to resist giving him a word bout her past, but as the rain began to fall, so did her words. "I'm an orphan, alright?" she muttered, not looking to him.

Icarus just couldn't seem to stop herself now. "Yeah... I knew them. THey dumped me at the orphanage once my brother was born." she said, still staying against the window. It almost physically hurt to bring up her past. And she hated it.

Jethrow nodded and took a few steps up to her. He pulled up his sleeve to reveal a smooth scar on his upper right arm. "That was my dad. He was a vampire hunter. Didn't take to the idea of having an abomination for a son. My mother had died the night before, and he was sure I killed her. She'd just had tuberculosis, but nobody could tell the difference between that and a vampire bite then." He knew it hurt her to talk about things like that, as it had hurt him once. He hoped that giving something back in return would reassure her that she could always speak with him.

Icarus glanced to his scar, sighing a little. She then pulled up the fabric of her shirt on her side, revealing a scar that looked so deep and large that the bird shouldn't have been standing there near him. "Before my brother... My mother suffered a mental breakdown. Came at me with a butcher's knife. The neighbors rushed me to a hospital."

Jethrow put a hand over her scar and looked into her eyes. "It will always hurt somewhere. It's just a matter of watching lifetimes of pain pass before realizing you don't enjoy them."

Icarus looked to his hand before the vampire himself. She listened to him before looking out the window. "I wish it didn't have to. But it always will. Because I will always remember my parents' last words to me. I may have forgotten their faces, bu I still remember what they said to me as they left me on that doorstep." she mumbled, staring back out at the downpour.

Jethrow wrapped his arms around Icarus' waist and kissed the top of her head. "Guess I"ll have to keep talking until your brain is stuffed, then," he said in her ear. "Stuff like the fact that you're absolutely beautiful and if you ever dye your hair again it will be agonizingly painful."

Icarus glanced to the vampire as she felt his arms and him kiss her head. She then flushed a little at what he said about her hair. "What makes you so sure it will?!" she squeaked.

Icarus blushed more and crossed her arms. "I'll still do it! I'm immune to the puppy eyes!" she snuffed, trying to be tough.
