How does one explain to a butthead ( in another forum ) that in FF -verse, reflect does not reflect just any magic attack no matter what? He is claiming that reflect covers summons as well as well as materias like Ultima.

In places like California, wouldn't it be a good idea to carry around an umbrella for portable shade? Even though other people might think it looks ridiculous, they would be stuck in the heat.

then whip out ff6, and cast the esper shiva, after granting your enemies with reflect.
then crack open ff7 and after reflecting your own party, show him what ultima does for you. [spoilers: nothing.]
then go to ff8 and call down eden, because reflect's TOTALLY gonna save someone from THAT thing, no matter if you boost to 225%.
or you know what, just skip the rest of the numbers and go to fftactics. in the explanation of the magic [press select, i believe], it tells you if it can be reflected, with a handy icon. note that summons and -ja level magic [firaja/fire 4]do not have the light-bouncing-off-a-surface icon. neither does ultima... though admittedly, it's more a skill than magic in fft. all-ultima or ultima2 will not be prevented with reflect.
then whether or not he understands, slug him with the brick again.
edit: i don't know what you mean by "materia" ultima. where in ff7, materia is just the vessel that holds the magic you learn. unless, you can block everything that comes on that materia, which was... freeze, flare, and typhoon or something like that, right before ultima opens up? yeah, high magic can't be reflected.
