each character has it's ups and downs- you get starting states as well as ones that you set- so i a way if does matter- what type of character to you want to play? attack, heals, support, ranged? etc this explains it a little better: http://forum.wl.igg.com/viewthread.php?tid=23080&page=1

Splogaton @irish good night @teg enjoy dinner @vex who is best for ranged attacks? 'more' with ether fire or wind, fire has come ranged attacks, but wind would be the best for ranged ^^

well i was think you would want to be a guy xD lolz
fire is the most powerful element in the game, there for it could be used as both close and ranged combat it's up to you, if you were going to choose wind go for more, if fire i would choose daniel ^^

hmm lol nah not a guy. I usually choose girl characters on games like that coz they is usually animated better. (probably coz they are animated by guys)
