Jethrow glanced over at Icarus, then back at the boy. "So do you know what's going on?" He shrugged his shoulders. "Find the source of the problem: that'll fix it."
Benjamin could have sworn he heard a happy bark right after the mirror smashed, and he smiled, sweeping the pieces of glass to the side of the mirror before standing. "Going to his owner, now."

Icarus groaned a little. "And what's the source of the problem?"
Sophia smiled softly and nodded. "Let's just hope his owner isn't trapped too."

Icarus looked at all the mirrors and nodded some. She then took off one of her sandals and smashed Searan's mirror. "We should get a move on. Can't make him wait any longer for Anya."

Jethrow nodded. Then there was a scream outside. Looking out the closet window, he paled visibly. There were several scarecrows chasing a girl across the field. They were led by a crude effigy of the girl, and they appeared malicious. "Think she has something to do with it?"

Icarus looked out as well and nodded. She grabbed Jethrow's hand and dragged him to the doors. She opened the door quickly, letting the girl scramble inside. Icarus then showed her anger as she sent a few fireballs at the scarecrows, missing the leader, burning them before she shut and locked the door. She then looked to the girl. "You alright?"

Jethrow followed behind Icarus as quickly as he could, before stopping and turning opposite of her. While she attacked the scarecrow, he ushered the cheerleader away from the scene. When Icarus asked if she was all right, the girl sniffled and nodded. "Things like that have been chasing me all day," she stammered out between sobs as she buried her face in her hands.

Icarus panted a moment. She hadn't summoned so much fire before and it had taken a little out of her. But she stared down at the girl, her mind working. "Did you know Jacob?"

One could see how that irked Icarus, her eye twitching a little. "He asked you out and you said no, didn't you? Had one of those jocks beat him up by chance?" she asked, glaring a little at the girl. "You caused him to kill himself."

The girl began to sob, shaking her head. "I didn't ask anybody to hurt him... I just didn't wanna go out with him! I didn't want him to die!" Jethrow gave Icarus a look that told her to shut up while he helped the girl up. "Let's get her inside and see what we can do," he whispered to Icarus.

Icarus huffed as Jethrow glared at her, but she didn't say anything more. But she wasn't about to help the girl. She was getting too annoyed. She opened doors, but the bird refused to be near the girl, or even touch her. After all, a boy had lost his life because of her.

Jethrow sighed. He knew Icarus was gonna give him hell later on for helping the girl, but he also knew that they needed her alive and coherent in order to figure out what the hell was going on. She sobbed quietly as he led her behind Icarus, but he didn't touch her. Better to do as little as possible to piss off the bird.
When they found Benjamin and Sophia, Jethrow retreated away from the cheerleader, leaving her in their hands, as he looked at Icarus to see if she was still pissed. Benjamin, meanwhile, knelt down in front of the now seated, crying cheerleader, and tried to ask her if she knew what was going on. It soon became obvious that she had no idea.

Icarus had calmed a little, but she was something else than pissed. Something more frustrated or confused. Probably even she couldn't explain what she was feeling right now. Except the urge to just go to bed and be rid of everything for the night.
Sophia tried to calm the girl down, offering her support until they got their answers. And what depressing answers they were. She knew nothing. Sophia motioned for Benjamin to talk to the others as she continued to comfort the girl.

Benjamin faced away from the blond girl and spoke with Icarus and Jethrow. Basically, he established to them that the girl hadn't given them much, but it would seem that the spirit of Jacob was vengeful. They figured that he conjured some sort of magic in his dying moments, and this caused all the spirits in Mesilci to be released and then trapped in the mirrors.
