It's not that much work once you get the basic steps down. It's tough to dance different parts, though. I had to dance the guy's part for the waltz & my partner insisted on promenading whenever we got the chance, but I wouldn't always lead that way.
For the benefit of those who don't know, a promenade is a move in a waltz where you & your partner move across the room. The word is also the origin for prom. Now in case you ever have to know that stuff, you do. whee
