Hey, how cool! 9.8
I dunno, ubuntu is great, it's my 2nd favourite OS, MacOSX's still the 1st just because it's so easy to use and you don't have to update it every 5 secs, or bother looking for hardware controllers (con, there's as not much upgrading options unless you're on a hackingtosh).
I'm curious at how did you broke the mac (i'm guess you didn't do it literally), at most i've got kernel panics for overheating (sometimes i hate having a cat) or frezzes when executing a lots of flash games at the same time.

well i would be running OSX on my G4 but a while back a mouse decided its hard drive was a toilet.......... so mouse got fried and so did the HD.... i finnaly got an OS for it, OSX, but it was using a pc monitor because of a mod i did but since the old HD is trash it took the driver with it so now i need to go track down a monitor for my G4 to get it working...........
and yes i did literally break a mac.... it was a G3 and it was already broken....... i just broke more than the outside case and took as many parts as i could....
and i have indeed had issues with tracking down hardware controllers..... to be exact one for my airlink+ wifi adapter
