September wrestled with Angie over who would become the one to sleep in the fort and the fight ended abruptly when the girl piled herself on top of him and claimed victory. They both continued to laugh as they fixed the fort and settled down for a nap afterward.
Smiling at Victoria, the male zombie couldn't help but think that her interest in the child was cute. He brought her hair out of her face and nuzzled her nose, glad that she was happy.

The robot passed through the kitchen and immediately caught Damien's attention, but he ignored him for the most part and broke the kiss only to tell him to bring the two slaves in from wherever they were. After September replied and left, he scooted up next to Victoria and urged her against the couch so that he could kiss her again. September began looking around, knowing that they weren't in the house because he had just gone through it on his way down. He thought and headed outside to the backyard sneakily.

"Listen carefully," he said, not willing to give his instructions more than once. "Go into September's room and clear everything out, then paint the walls blue. After you're done with that, go into the empty room across the hall and clear everything out, then paint the walls pink." He thought for another moment before adding "I want a nice even coat, no overspray, and keep the brush lines in the same general direction. If I'm not satisfied you'll do it again."
