In Fable 2, you can sorta be a pirate.
Cutlass, flintlock pistol, pirate-esque type clothes, etc.
And nothing beats this sorta scenario:
Bandit: AAAAAGGHHH! * pulls sword, charges *
Hero: * aims, fires gun, kills bandit a mile away * Boom. Headshot.
