*sigh*... That's no reason to give up powers. Honestly, I think that powers aren't bad as long as you know how to use them and when to use them. In fact, things like those Street Fighter and King of Fighters moves are the most hand-to-hand friendly kinds of abilities you could get. Especially since practically all of them can be dodged. That's just my fighting game logic approach.

Ahhh, you dont need to take specific stuff from other places to fight well in power fights. You just need good strategy and an open mind to things while keeping your character's theme together.
Besides, power fights...or really, any kind of single-area focused fight, can be boring to watch unless it's done right. Sometimes that involves it being scripted or done simply for roleplay and not competition. Otherwise it's sorta like reading a textbook.
Those fights going on in the Stadium right now with Vahn and Teira and Alpha and Malice and all those guys are perfect examples of how awesome roleplay-centered fights turn out. They're getting pretty good, IMO.

ShadowDragonVX I wanna fight on Siegs team fer the next HOH.....Not that I think Crawley and Fox are bad at h2h or anything...Just that they're too intimidating for me to join. I can't measure up to the chestoh thing... sweatdrop If it makes you any better, Shadow... I can't speak for everyone else here, but personally, I thought the whole Chestoh thing got stale real quick; I can see how it could be funny to some in the first round, but I tired of it quickly. (And yes, I'm aware I'm setting myself up for wisecracks as soon as they read that. It wasn't meant to be offensive though, just... I didn't see the humor in it, not unlike how they don't see the humor in anything I do). Don't use that as the measure of what you should aspire to be smile Make your own goals, and work to attain them on your own (though a helping hand now and again wouldn't hurt).

And thank you, Ichigo (Malice is my NPC). Going on my own style, if its of any use to you, Shadow... the two important things when building a character are theme, and style. The first is more generic, the second is more specific.
For instance, Rain is a lightning-themed martial artist (or started out that way, anyways). But the style focuses on speed and precision more than power, defense over offense, science over magic, that sort of thing.
Malice, on the other hand, is themed as a super regenitive immortal. But his style comes from exact control over all his physiological functions, and he's not unlike a vampire in how he powers all his abilities.
But my characters also have their weaknesses. Rain isn't as ruthless as he should be in a world as hostile as ours (though he started out that way in his youth). Because of his geniality, it sometimes gives his opponents advantages over him (his strongest move is simply a Blanka-esque electricution, but for the most part, he refuses to do it because of its high potentiality for fatalities and he considers it unnecessarily cruel). Also, he doesn't do well with cold, because it slows down his body and limits the amount of lightning he can generate.
Likewise, Malice is very simple-minded in his goals, and doesn't think things through. He is, in all aspects of the term, completely batshit insane. He is very slow and cares little for defense. He never has any backup plans, has very little respect for authority or life. He also has no method of attacking at range, and is horrible at trying to close for a ranged battle. But he knows all these things, and he just doesn't care, because he's immortal and cannot be killed and is cursed to remain that way for all of existance.
Some people will just try to max out EVERYTHING in their character, without any consideration towards balance. The key is, as far as it goes for yours truly when making characters, is to try to make them as realistic as possible in this setting. Would any one being be able to do EVERYTHING perfectly? Would any being be able to do even ONE THING perfectly? What are you willing to sacrifice to be able to do something else? That's what makes a good, solid character 3nodding

Hahaha, alright then. Practice makes perfect.
I would have gone to the gym today myself, but they stuck me in the flea booth at work (Mohegan Sun Casino), and I was more interested in coming home to shower than hang out at the gym gonk
But goodnight, nonetheless, Sir Dragon smile

And now, when you check this in the morning, Shadow, you'll see why Malice is an idiot. He doesn't know how to press an advantage, especially when he gets distracted or has his mind set on something.
