"You seem to think such things would bother me." Said rather nonchalantly.

There was a short pause. "What's this? Status spells, hm? We can't have that now can we?" Decay, disease, etheral chains, all these seplls seemed to twil into themselves, decreasing until they were nothing. "You think me at a disadvantage here. But in case you haven't noticed, I rule here. In every sense of the word."

Fire spells sputtered, falling to the floor as nothing but harmless air.

"Oh? Are those runes? Clever, Drow, but they won't help you here." Sevilin was swarmed with soulless, the front becoming incinerated on the barriar before over powering it, and breaking it.

The jehreg, four times the size of a horse, ten times as large as any normal jehreg, swooping on Zaharah. It's long piosonous claws extended, reachering for any part of exposed skin.

Piper would find that they were indeed sorrounded, and that arrow might come in handy soon enough. A mixture of dead and soulless, all looking to do gahstly things to living bodies.

Ebony was not touched in any way.

"Get out of here, thing." He made a rude gesture and said nothing further.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 26, 2006 9:53 am

"Well. we'll see about that."

Surrounded, SEvilin coudl hold his own, he knew that. but Zahara, damned woman and her skimpy outfit. Ebony lashed out, aiming for the Jehereg's feet. while Mavolence kept others at bay. hands, feet, heads, arms, whatever was in range of the blood drinking blade.

"And I never though I had you at a disadvantage. I just think you're a coward."

Undead mages had staves, and they fought with them, when thier spells failed. and like any undead, they bit into and tried to eat living flesh.

the Ogres swung away with thier Breaker hammers, and used thier meakhooks and chains. for them, this was a really big playtime.

Onyx flicked his bow and snorted.

"I am not a thing. ignorant, selfish elf."

And off the wall, and out to the open 'sea' so to speak, gliding low over the waterwatching for gatherings of crabs, and abalone, and the movement in the water that said lobster.

"I'm more clever than you think here Lich. You may be able to breech the barriers, but you can't dispel them." Ah the catch 22 of Andalian runes...only other Andalian rune mages could manipulate them, which included dispelling and erasing them. Which that could in fact be deadly should you run across the wrong rune mage.

One, two, three, four, five. And the limit to that one rune was quickly reached and made know by the trickle of blood that ran from Sevilin's nose and down his chin. Therefore it was quickly cute and another whispered word before a slight shift in his runes and his pole arm's runes lit up and turned a bright red, as the weapon grew hot with it's new fire imbued attribute.

This with a spin of it he took to cutting down those around him with the practiced ease of a killer. Though his knew better than to just stab and go. You had to incapacitate the indeed. Meaning either limbs came off to immobilize them, they were cut in half at the middle, or heads came off. Though a side glance to Zahara and she'd feel that certain shift about her.

She could do this, even if she couldn't see worth anything really. Oh wait...teraing herself from listening she looked to Ebony, which Malik had glowing with the ethereal holy light. Stare at it, all she needed was a few seconds of staring at that things and only at that thing. The moment the gold in her eyes caught and ignited she turned her attention back to what was once dark, was not so dark. After all, this wasn't normal dark so the effect wasn't as good. But still better than before. And she did not like what she saw at all. But a second arrow was pulled and joined the first as she started taking double shots on one go. An arrow at that close range easily ripped through undead bodies, hopefully at vital points that even stopped the undead. She knew her fair bit of knowledge to getting ride of the undead. And a low grade holy spell...if she could just remember it.

"Suit yourself."

The mass continued to press on, pushing the bunch deeper into the cavern building, the jerheg, though two of it's clawss had been sliced off, continued to dive. Now, the insects were reaching the player's feet. Crawling in through clothes and biting and skin, the scarabs ripping chunks and feeding. The dead felt no pain, the soulless felt no fear of it. The blackness was broken by flashes of brilliant light, distorting images and hurting the eye.

Above the rukus of the convernous hallways, there was an odd, calm humming. Like someone waiting for the rain to stop so they could go outside.

Bugs. damn little pesky things. of course the coudln't get through plate, that was a bi ttough for them, but others they could. hwo do you get rid of bugs in a fast way for large amounts. this was not going good, so try a new tactic. it worked in the arena, but was so painful to do. but these things needed to be taken care of at least quickly at the present. a few deep breaths, several move beheadings, and both blade in fron and with an almost a melodic ching sound, slapped the blades agasint eachother and held it.

it was silimar to completeing a circuit with a living body. the competeing energies strove to our do each other, but with no outlet, the surged back through malik's body until the buildup, which didn't take but a few moments, let loos a shockwave of raw, holy and unholy power. of course this also hurt like hell form the backlash and enegies in his armor..but hey, they needed the break. of course he might be relying a bit more on that bond between him and piper to try and keep himself able to fight. Hard to fight very effectively when your insides felt like someone had put them in a meatgrinder.

Onyx was stuffed, but for a good cause. a large basket made out of clamshells was the reward, a little demonic power fusing them together after he ate the animal. and plenty more were in it, and abalones too. at present, he was using his tail as bait for crabs. they clamp on the tail, tail puts them in the basket.

Oh great...bugs. Was there nothing more annoying than bugs in the underdark? Sure...they were no problem for Malik and Piper who were armor clad but for Zahara and Sevilin, they weren't fun. But to Sevilin who had learned to drow out pains of many a sort he wasn't too worried by them, even if they did work past his clothing. Besdides...heee had a help who loved to eat bugs...and that little ferret was running around between chain and cloth, crunching up bugs with sharp fangs. Look, dinner was early today!

He'd say the little periodic flashes of light in the unnatural darkness were more of a bother than anything else. But he only tilted his head down some to watch more the the ground to throw th angle of light directly from his eyesight. Didn't take too much skill to behead something anyway. With each slice of the double blades was the resounding sound of sizzling flesh.

Malik's body and armor conducted those energies...which in turn conducted off of Piper's...meaning they both had gotten a good zap, although Malik felt the worse half of it and she the latter half that wasn't so bad. Still hurt like no tomorrow though, that feeling of being hurt transferring both ways through their bond somewhat to provoke a protect response from each other. Took her a moment to recover from that, bow shots a tad bit off for a few seconds before she got back on track. Though damn light was trying to get her. If she got caught direct sight of one of those flashes it was likely for her to flash blind and that would be no good. Reaching up, her bandanna was yanked over her ears and down so that it hung around her neck and let her hair fall into her eyes, curtaining out the lights to an extent.

Zahara was quickly understanding the merits of armor in a situation like this. She seethed when Malik jumped in front to take care of whatever was swooping down towards her adn said thing got a hammerful of rage as soon as she heard it in rage. Then she shivered as bugs began to crawl. Dammit that hurt! Immediately she spun into action slamming and that hammer and crunching everything around her feet. Good thing Sevilin was a little ways away and Nym was smart or he would have been crushed too. "I hate bugs!" she wanted to scream it but she didn't, instead she screamed it over adn over in her head. I hate spiders the most! She could feel blood running where a few had already made lunch out of her and that only pissed her off so that hammer became a blur. After the initial blinding of the first blast of light, she closed her eyes and listened closely, calming her frenzied mind and concentrating on the small noises that meant a little bug wanted to be smashed. All the while sensitive ears were peeled for anymore things swooping at her from above. Damn enemies.

The flashing had become like a strobe light. One could see soemtihng comming towards them in a detatched sort of way, as if it wasn't there. Then was. Then wasn't. Soon, the dragon-men had entered the fight as well. More skilled and concious than bugs, soulless, or undead. These deadly creatures could dodge, attack, analize. That, and when they died they immidiatly turned to stone. Effectivly trapping blades and other weapons inside their body, then exploded in a shower of fast flying shards.

The air was becoming hot, and hard to breath, as if the oxygen were being pumped out with other...flammable gasses. The only way even slightly open to them was ahead. And deeper inside.

A large spider, slighty smaller than a horse, scuttled out from the crack. It's long legs moving furiously, and closing in on Zaharah.

Insects as well as undead had taken tastes of Piper, and soulless tugged at her shoulders, trying to pull her down and get around that odd mask.

The giant Jehreg went after Sevilin, swooping swiftly from the ceiling.

A scarab bit Nym's nose.

Malik found hismelf in combat with three dragon-men. One with an ax, another it's claws, the last a broad sword. They seemed to be spitting insults at him through their own, gutteral language.

Malik was enjoying the hell out of himself actually. it seems that shackwave of energy did damamge, but not in teh level he was expecting. Dragonmen. ha. like Iksar or more likely Sarnaks back home. not as stupid or skinny as sarnaks though. hmm. A step back over to Piper, parrying blades with a practiced grace, and grabbed one of those soulless, pulling in in front and forcing it's mouth open with his hands, and then shoving it's face agasint the nearest draconic. lets see if they work it that. and it not, so what, souless meat shield. then another though came to mind. hey, they answered before, so why not.

"Juan, Jell! your starflower and Piper could use a little help!"

Provided the little pests could hear him. disarm one, since centuries of warfare and death did teach one simple but effective tricks. Malvolence sheathed, much to the blades displeasure, so that he coudl disarm and kill with thier own weapons. it was just eaiser that way.

Then a grin and a stream of blue energy overflowed all of his troops and his allies, and a screaming, wailing, keening sound. anything that struck them now was in for a nasty magical feedback. souless that died, thier bodies rose again and fought as Malik's necromancers did thier work. Ogres that fell rose as golems. Golems that fell took several with them, their bodies under a great deal of internal pressure to get that nice gas and liquid squirt effect. often those around them got an acidic bath or a highly leathal does of neurotoxins. that woudl slow undead as thier nervous system went to hell, and kill things that had living brains.

Onyx was on his way back after about three hours. once twenty pound clamshell basket full of lobster, regular old crab, horseshoe crab, abalones, more clams and oysters, and for a lid so the licing moving things coudln't get out? one dead squid, tenctalce tied at the bottom of the basket. arrowhead design on top was great for flying handles.

She found she was liking dragon armor immensely, saved her some rather nasty pains. Though other exposed flesh wasn't so well off. Particularly her hands weren't so fun. But if it was bothering her she wasn't showing. Her bow had taken back seat at this point, resting at her back and she had taken to her daggers seeing as they were being pressed in on, she didn't have the skill to swing a sword efficently in tight quarters like this. That and good old fist fighting worked dreams, she may of killed a lot less than anybody but she at least knew how to put something down for a bit.

It was annoying as hell...but boy was he enjoying himself. He hadn't had a fun battle like this in a while. Though he was being particularly watchful for himself and Zahara as well. After all, she was sucking off his resources. At least she could kill things. A quick drop and roll as the jehreg took to aiming at him instead of Zahara. Damn dragon kin and thier tough hides.

But every creature had a weak spot, for most lizards it was thier underbellies or mouths. Meaning a good timed jab upward with his polearm could slit the thing open...or he could more or less let it try to eat him...and it would get a blade through the roof of its mouth to its brain. All the while keeping soul stealers and the like at bay.

Poor little Nym gave a squeal, pawing at the bug that had hold of his nose, finally ripping it's head off and duly eating it for even pulling that. Bite me...you're out of your mind. You're breatkfast! Breakfast does not bite back!

The lights hurt Zahara's eyes and soon began to pound in her head as well so she kept her eyes tightly closed and listened. A sadistic smile came over her lips as she heard a familiar sound coming towards her. A spider. Who was this idiot fooling? She could control the beasts. She raised her hands and shouted, "Cease movement immediately." She waited to stop hearing the legs swish but they didn't and suddenly she remembered that she no longer served Lloth. Dammit. Now she was going to have to kill the thing. Lifitnig her hammer she spun and began to slap the hammer into every leg she could find. And then anything else she could. Take that Lloth! And that! Look at me, smashing your spider! Damn b***h! Die! Die! Die! A little overeager she kept smashign and smashing and smashing hearing the spider hiss a few times before he finally fell. And then it was just gross all around as spider guts flew all over the place. Yuck...
PostPosted: Mon Feb 27, 2006 3:44 pm

"Did you hear that?"

"Some one's a'callin'."

"Should we answer?"

"I already tried to, I can't get through."

"Oh. So...what then?"

He shrugged. "Let's just keep chucking dishes." The rest of what was left of Malik's cook or dinner wear was currently being tossed off the ground.

From the darkness, a single lab coat thrust an arm outward, extending his spell rod. A simple dispeller took Malik's sheild down. It's temproary effectiveness had created a bit of a wall of flesh, but the army just continued to crawl over top of it.

They were steadily getting pushed deeper into the cavern base.

A dead jerhege is a lot of weight. Something once in flgiht that gets a sharp object thrust through it's throat and into it's head usually ceases to fly. Which means a lot of dead weight fell on top of Sevilin. The floor shook.

"Oh shi-" That was about all that came out before a few tons of dragon kin came down on top of him...which he rolled into the thing as it fell, runic defenses being thrown up as he dropped into a crouch on the ground. When things like that came down...they came down hard, and they skidded a few good...hundred...feet. Of course dragging the drow with it as it went.

And thus slamming into an opposite wall. Oh joy...battered and now pinned between a wall and a dead body. Fun. Not to mention the undead and soulless who loved the opporunity to get at the immobilized drow. Which mean time was of the utmost importance. Taking a moment to spit a bit of blood onto the pinning anatomy of the jerhege he quickly scribed a rune into it and a resulting sizzling started before he grabbed his multiple curved dagger, a countering rune to the earlier one shining on it as Sevilin began an attempt to hack himself out of being pinned.

Lloth be damned he was going to feel that one in the morning...if he made it to the mornign anyway. Nym? That poor little guy had gotten the knock of his life, and was now lying out cold inside Sevilin's tunic. Poor little bugger, he wouldn't be a happy ferret in the morning.

Malik saw that arm, and when it retracted it was a half an arm. enter another useful, and deadly in large numbers, Shadowknight skill. the shadow step. step into darkness at point a, and come out at point be a short distance away. probably some old spell that was derived form teh Nightmare's trait to do it, though a nightmare had a much broader range. Malik coudl only go where he coudl see, and even then it was only a short distance.

so one dispeller. big deal. the spell was recast. come on..stick another arm out there. and the imps either didn't want to, or couldn't help. they'd have been nice pests to let loose.

However, he saw Sevilin, and a point of two fingers and a drow word, adn the area sevilin was hacking at started to rot away. that should help him. they were still being coralled though. Back out came Malvolence, though this time the blade ignited. thank you Tanundra temper tantrum. and arching wave off the blade in flame, and a littel focus with Ebony and look, Holy energy bolts. fo course this was really, really stressing his body, and he'd taking his fair share of beating. his amro was crimson with blood and marred with fire burns form those dragonic things exploding.

Onyx landed out front of the castle, and looked up, noting that the snotty elf and the lizard were still there.

"I'm back, and I got what the Oracle asked me to get!"

flapping his wings a bit to get rid of some loose feathers. How birds coudl stand molting he'd never know.

Zahara heard the sound of something very large smashing into something else and she heard Sev curse. That meant he was in trouble adn spider squished so to speak she turned and keeping her eyes closed listened and moved, smashing things every few moments. As she got closer she stopped her frenzied waving in case she hit him and stood there, hammer braced in her hands. He could fight whatever was on top of him and she'd keep anything new from getting in. So more frenzied smashing, hearing squishes and screams as she caught random things in random places. She was having a gay old time!
