Nienna was staring at Feather as she was breaking down and it was forcing her to remember her past and the battle she had fought against her "master". This bother her quite a bit but she looked and seemed like nothing had been bothering her. "Feather, you can stop trying to remember it will not force you. However, if a memory does spark alon the way, please let us know. We do not blame you for the incident that had just happened. Please stay calm." Nienna said with a soothing smile on her face, "You are in good hands."

Radergeist closed his eyes. He seemed to be deciding something, or rather to be wrestling with some inner thought or desire that his mind struggled to suppress. But when he opened his eyes, they showed nothing unusual.
"Very well," he said. I will not make you remember. Not yet."
He glanced at the sky. "Come on," he said. "There's another storm coming, we have to keep going."

Feather clung to Radergeist, whispering in his ear as if she were telling him some grave secret. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry...David...he said....he begged me....he had someone to go back to...."

Suddenly, before Feather could respond, a cabin appeared just up ahead, sheltered beneath a large boulder. An old, skinny man sat crouched outside the cabin, tinkering with the plants of his garden. He was humming aimlessly, the tune, pitch, and rhythm constantly changing. He scratched at his balding head and leaned down to examine the soil around one particular flower before gently packing in more of the soil. Feather looked up and stared at the old monk with her blind eyes as if she could actually see him and clung a little tighter to Radergeist's robes.

HermitGhost Radergeist looked at the old man closely. A monk? certainly he looked it, bald, old, his mind full of gardening. He felt feather tighten her grip and stroked her hair. "Don't worry," he said, quietly. "It?s just an old man." He extended his free arm and waved, shouting, "Hello, brother. Are you the monk they told us of at the Dojo, south of here? We have come a long way and through many dangers to find you, if you, indeed, are he." He shot a glance at the healer. "This the guy?" he asked, under his breath. The healer nodded to indicate that this was definitely the monk. The monk looked up at Radergeist, then stood up, brushing his dirty hands on his robes. "Yes, I am he." He said, his voice oddly strong for being so old. "And I know why you've come. That creature in your arms...You wish to bring its memories back, am I correct? But I won't let you get away with that so easilly. O, no." He chuckled slightly. "It's going to have to fight for what it wants. If it can beat me, it can have its bracelet and, with it, its memories back. Understand?" The monk didn't seem to have any problem calling Feather "it". In fact, he didn't seem to think she was anything but an "it". She wasn't human and therefore could not afford the same respect that any other person would.

Nienna got angry with his words and snapped, "Listen monk..Feather is not an "it" she has a name. It would do you good to remember that. Why must you fight her. She is capable of more power than you could imagine."

“Yes,” said Radergeist, “and fighting her might have far reaching consequences, as you well know if you truly understand what she is. Perhaps we may talk about this, before resorting to combat?”

The monk began to laugh hysterically, bending over, holding his stomach as his raspy chuckles escaped his lips. After what seemed an eternity of snickering and snorting, he rose again and gave a toothless grin. "There must be a fight. You see, without any proof that she is one of the Children, I cannot give her the Bracelet of Self. Also, this proof can only be given in combat. It cannot be shown otherwise. If you wish to avoid combat, then leave."

Nienna glared at the monk while thinking of how wonderful it would feel to sink her teeth into his neck and drain him of his life force. "If Feather wishes to fight I will not stand in her way, but just what is it you are looking for within her for proof?"

“In what way do you wish to fight her?” asked Radergeist. “Physically? You would be destroyed, surely.” He spoke half to himself, musingly. “Have you met one of these people before? How did you come to learn about them? What can you tell us about her? What can you tell us about the thing that, a short while ago, attacked her?”

The monk grinned again, his murky eyes settling upon Radergeist. "So many questions..." he mocked before answering, "The fight will be of the minds. And yes, I have met two others from years ago, I learned about them from their creator, I can tell you pleanty about her, and the attacker was merely a test set upon her which you," he glared at the young man, "ruined...and now the test is null and void, so I shall merely have to test her myself. Come, bring her to me." He held out a hand, suddenly pulling on a serious face.
