Hotaru was about to comment when he stiffened, and grew a little pale. "Castle, now. Get Leon. Swarms of them." His tone was rather short and cold. "I'll meet you guys there." He then took off, moving much quicker than he normally did when he rushed some off somewhere. "I'll give them this.....it's nice being able to sense the enemy from when they're that far away...." He gave a sigh as he kept moving, dodging through people with ease. "Dammit Zero....you better still be alive!" He shouted as he saw the castle growing much closer with each passing minute.

The phantom possesed Zero had easily desicrated the Heartless in the study. She moved with a languid grace into the coridoors she stopped at the next large rooms grinning at the new hoard. "Well, just alot of prectice to me." She purred lifting her massive blade, scraping the tip across the floor causing sparks.

Hotaru busted through the doors, and into the castle, pausing momentarily. "Alright, so where the hell are you Zero......" He swore under his breath as heartless started appearing. "I don't have time for weaklings like you..." he muttered as he summoned his keyblade. "But I'll play anyways, can't have you sneaking up on me later..." he sighed as he began to slice into the horde that blocked his passage.

Merlin nodded at Hotaru before he took off. He started running to Leon's house as fast as his aged legs could carry him. 'How is it possible that he can be so much like Anna? Unless...' He shook his head. 'No, couldn't possibly be that.' When he made it to Leon's he didn't brother knocking on the door has he usually did. "Leon!" he called. "There are Heartless at the castle! Hotaru and Zero are there! Alone!"

The Phantom stood in the area, cleared entirely of Heartless. A smirk curling her lips. "Well well." She purred opening her eyes. "Seems someone ran to your aide Zero. I shall let them save you from here." She said tossing the blade to one side. For a brief second there was the ghostly apperance of raven black wings arching to the high cieling from her back, flight feathers pressed for space. And then Zero, once again herself collapsed to the floor with the sound of roughling feathers.

Leon just looked at Merlin for a few seconds. "And why are they there by themselves? And why did you let that happen?" He gave a sigh as he got up. "Hopefully they're both still alright, because I doubt we'll make it in time to offer any help.......but He nodded to Merlin. "Might as well make our way over there....." He walked to the door. "All we can do is have a little faith in them, but lets go make sure anyways" He gave another sigh before walking towards the castle.
Hotaru sliced through the last one blocking his way, "Annoying ants..." He paused for a moment. "Just where would you be......." he closed his eyes and sighed. "Books. You'd be with a lot of books so you could throw one at anyone who bothered you..." He nodded, and took off towards Ansem's study. 'Zero, you seriously owe me for this, one I'm in a creepy castle saving you, two, there swarms of heartless, and three, I had to tap into something I hate.....' He sighed as he ran, pausing only long enough to destroy any heartless that appeared in his way.

"Well someone had to get you, and Hotaru didn't really give me a chance for me to tell him to do it," Merlin rebuttaled. "Besides, he might just prove to be more useful than an old man like me."
Anna was very still as she hugged her legs and looked into her glass ball. Tears silently slid down her cold, emotionless face. Suddenly she flew up in a flurry and hurtled the ball to the cave wall. As it slammed against the stone it broke with a loud and sharp crack. "Ahaaa!" she screamed, her hands lighting on fire. She brought them together and a rather impressive sized fire ball came to life. She chucked it down the cave and watched it illuminate the passage until it finally hit, leaving a more than decent scorch mark and pile of ruble. "Anna, you stupid, stupid girl!" A strong gust of wind pounded against the wall, leaving a crack. "How could you have let them fool you! You know they were lying! How could be so ignorant! So foolish!" The ruble she had made earlier started to bang against the cave. "Look at what you've done! All this crap!" Water started trickle out of every crack and hole in the cave and Anna looked as if another powerful scream was about to explode. Suddenly, instead of a scream, sobs bursted out and she collapsed to the floor. 'Look at what a mess you've made.'
"Do you feel that?" a bald, somewhat cubby man asked.
"What?" responded the young, pretty girl with him. She had pale skin, white blond hair, blue crystal clear, shallow eyes and striking white lashes. They were both dressed completely in black.
"That delicious burst of energy."
"The one in Hallow Baston?" The man smirked.
"You must tell my why you still call it that my dear."
"I don't want to be use to another name once it's conquered again." The man chuckled.
"Yes, the one from Hallow Baston," he said with great amusement.
"Isn't that just Merlin?"
"Normally I would think so, but it feels like this is separate, almost as if it's another location that just happens to be close to him. Besides, this radiant show of power is filled with pure rage and complete hate. I don't think our dear Merlin is capable of such... useful feelings."

Leon sighed. "Guess it can't be helped....he's the type to run in and do everything by himself...." He looked at Merlin. "Well....should we leave it all up to them then?" He asked referring to Hotaru and Zero.
Hotaru burst into the area, seeing Zero on the ground. "Idiot..." He muttered as he looked at her. "Having a keyblade makes you a target...." He said as he picked her up, and held her on his back. "And don't get used to me saving you. You've got a weapon, so get stronger..." He started to leave, and stopped. "Fantastic....." A large horde of heartless, mixed with some nobody's had started to appear. "Guess it can't be helped then..." He sighed, as he put Zero back down lightly. "Don't tell anyone about this." He whispered to her.
As he turned towards the horde, a dark energy started to flow off of Hotaru's body. "I don't have time for weaklings like you." Was all he muttered as he closed his eyes, and let his keyblade's colors reversed, the white bandages became black, the black blade becoming white, the red orange flecks in the blade becoming a light blue. Once that was finished he opened his eyes, now giving off an eerie glow. "Lets see how you measure up to this cursed power...." He thought as he simply waved his keyblade in an elegant arc, causing a monstrous wave of dark energy to slam into them. "So pathetic..." He made his keyblade disappear as the he let the power he summoned go, causing everything to go back to normal. "Right then Zero, we're leaving now." He scooped her up, and started making his way back to town.
((And now, she's with us, and that should make things interesting till she can post again))

((haha. Took the words out of my month. Seriously, you almost did.))
Merlin considered this. "Zero refuses to accept that she's a wielder and Hotaru, despite his almost obvious power, is still new to it," he muttered to himself and then added louder, "Maybe we should just check."
The blond hair girls breath stopped for a moment. The man smirked. "That was defiantly not our friend Merlin. Maybe, at sometime, we might consider paying Radiant Gardens a visit." The girl just looked unsure at him.

((To take off my humble hat, It's cause I'm almost too awesome, *puts hat back on* Least that's what I would say if I had an ego..lol))
Leon sighed, and nodded. "Suppose you're right...that hothead does like to get into trouble..." He looked towards the castle. "huh....did it just get darker over there?" he asked Merlin.
Hotaru sighed. "You sure aren't as light as I thought you'd be....and for some reason I'm kinda glad you're not awake....I'm sure I'd get hit for that one..." He smirk as he looked at her. "You know....not so annoying when you're asleep..." "Let's just hope no one picked up on that brief use..... He gave a sigh as he kept walking.

Leon shook his head. "Any idea on what that might mean? I'm pretty sure no amount of heartless have ever made things get darker, even the biggest of them..."
Hotaru looked around, and sighed. "Why does that damn castle need to be so far from the city? And where the hell did Anna get too? I wouldn't have needed to tap into that power if she were around."

Leon sighed. "If it was, I'm sure the alarms we have set around to pick up a large enough horde of them would've sounded, I hope. Most of Cid's stuff keeps on working even when it shouldn't....which makes me wonder just what that was exactly..."

Merlin nodded. "Yes, you're right. We should find Hotaru and Zero, get a better idea of what's going on."
Anna had made her way back to Merlin's house through the back roads of town. She wanted to clean herself off before any saw her covered in dirt, face stained with tears and looked as if she had been badly shaken. The bathroom embraced her with open arms but all she was able to do when she was in there was look at herself hard in the mirror.
