Washed a couple of loads of laundry today by hand. You never know how dirty your laundry gets unless you wash it manually. Talk about yuck.

Today I went on a personal rant while walking around my house and yard. There is so many things I want to change, but I have no budge, and I'm a one woman army, who is a victim of a rogue planting without planning.

I did a quick surface clean up on 1/4 of my yard on Easter, just picking up some sticks, and adding the smaller and well rotted ones to the compost pile I wanted to restart for this spring.

I also scooped up all the acorns and the capsules off my drive way and to my surprise, WORMS REALLY DIG THAT STUFF! Instead of adding them to the bin to be shipped off to the yard waste drop off, I added all that material and the worms to the pile and to a patch of soil that my dad abuses I dug a nice hole and filled it. It felt like burying treasure.

Now...if only I could hire a landscaper... ;_; my yard is such a disaster.

"Happy Easter, everyone!" Late, I know.

Weather is pretty challenging here right now. Flash flooding and just plain ol' too much water everywhere. Cars are parked up the road, where we can actually get out, a quarter mile from the house. I'm hearing lots of half-completed water rescues---current is too swift for people to leave or the fire department/rescuers to get in until a lull, which is coming, then more torrential rain. I'm so happy to have the scanner so I can find out which roads are closed before I start driving!

Rested up at home today from the holiday with my folks. Ended up watching 'The Colony' Season 1. That is a pretty good show for learning to think outside the box, even though it is a "reality show", which I typically do not like so called reality show. This one for me is the exception to the rule.

Did a bunch of laundry today, found out a friends cousin is having some hard times right now and is selling off a bunch of tools so i'm going to be looking at getting a drill press and possibly a bandsaw from him sometime in the near future.
Went out to go see the movie "Hanna" last night and got stuck at 3 different points in town trying to get to the movie theater by a train that was stuck on the tracks, checked the news this morning and it turns out someone committed suicide by jumping in front of the train last night and a few weeks back a young girl in a neighboring town committed suicide in her teachers back yard the same way. Sad stuff going on around here.

@wolfen: i really love the show "the colony" i've watched both seasons and can't wait for the third. Its cool to see a lot of the stuff i read about get applied and get a more visual idea of how to do it and make it work.

@sunset: Good to see you post glad your doing alright. Keep the scanner on and try to keep dry.

Yeah, they definately come up with some good ideas! It is the type of show that makes me think, and these days that is rare. Personally I liked the first season more than the second. The first season, John C. was AWESOME! He had some really neat ideas. That Tesla coil was good, and that shower was really good too. I probably will still check out season 3 just for the heck of it.

Today I pruned the persimmon tree a bit and did a bit of weeding. Going to do the rest of the herb garden once the weather gets a bit better, hopefully in the next few days
