PhantomPhoenix0 Note to self: Next time your boss asks you to work overnight shifts at another store for the promise of an extra dollar an hour plus gas, PASS! No one at this store knows whats going on. Just yesterday, we took down about 9 sections of merchandise to put up a new set. Problem is, we never got any of the new stuff in, so now there's 9 empty sections, and perfectly good stuff sitting in the back room that we could have had displayed. None of it is marked out of stock or discontinued burning_eyes Crazy sleep schedules suck. I'm tired all the time now, and living off of 5 Hour Energy. I had to do that at Target a few times, for a new store that was opening in Quakertown. Watching that store's employees trying to work was like watching a bunch of headless chickens running around a pen. xd At least you have the option to pass. And how is that 5 Hour Energy? Is it as crash-free as they advertise?

You dont know where you are, you dont know what you're trying to do after a while, and you run into walls endlessly. BlueRoseTorn And how is that 5 Hour Energy? Is it as crash-free as they advertise? Yes, there is no crash like Rockstar or Monster, or other Energy Drinks. I've heard of a few people having wierd reactions (including a near heart-attack resulting in 3 days in a hospital) though. Just dont taste it gonk

Sir William Black Celeblin Galadeneryn Sir William Black Celeblin Galadeneryn *wikis* Get your ******** Discworld out of my White Wolf. OUT I SAY!!! If anything, you should rattle your drawers in thanks that Anoia would deign to be in the same conversation as a White Wolf product. Don't make me sic the Feegles on you. twisted *looks at the feegles* *Watch them start eatting their own various body parts* Often times, it is bad to set anything on a Malkavian, especially one using Dark Ages rules. .... *Eats own hands* Bah. Feegles are too thickheaded to fall for the mesmer powers of some vampire. They'd probably headbutt you, rob you blind, then make rude gestures as they drained your liquor cabinett. All while they beat on each other, just to stay in practice for when they fight something else. Small problem: They have to see me first blaugh *Obfuscates by and pants you* I wouldn't drink those energy shot things. I don't know that much caffeine in that little liquid scares me gonk

I updated my pathways thread with an example as to the kind of culture clash I experience when some of the more rigid "impurity laws" are violated. sweatdrop

Tea, would you recommend a website that I could give someone to explain why they shouldn't use G~ to be amusing? Neil Gaiman's webmaster used the word in a post today and I am trying to contact him to tell him that he should edit his post to remove it but I am afraid that he will not do so on my word alone. This is what I am submitting to the webmaster's contact form: Quote: While today's post (describing the blog's Dramatis Personae) was on the whole very amusing, there is one point that I would like to bring up. The word "[g...]*" is in fact an ethnic slur for the Rroma people, and it is not amusing at all to see it used so casually on this blog. Note that I am not calling you a racist; I am pointing out that you used a racist term and requesting that you edit your post to remove it. Thank you. *I will use the full word in the submitted comment to make my reference more clear but I am redacting it here. The post in question is here and the term in question is used in the section about Lorraine (Mr. Gaiman's assistant). I have no idea whether Lorraine is herself actually Rroma or not, but either way it is distasteful.

It looks like they are buying into the romantic stereotype, so pointing out the association between the ethnicity and the stereotype is as offensive as any other racial stereotype might be the way to go.

Thanks Tea. I added some of your links and a discussion of the damage of stereotypes. I hope it has an effect.
UPDATE: The post has been changed to "Romaustralian." I'm...not entirely sure that's an improvement but at least it doesn't use the other word.

So at the cam national early this month we were passing a crystal store. Feeling somewhat mischievous, I went into the shop to ask Me: How ethically removed are these stones? Woman owner: Well we don't send someone to do the new age asking the earth for permission. Me: stare No. I meant "Are they extracted by strip mining or is slavery used." She looked at me blankly and said she didn't know. There was a man looking to buy the four foot tall amethyst cathedral. He left shortly after I did.

Myself and scorplett, who are spending a weekend in Donegal escaping the responsabilities of our respective priesthoods wink , have just gotten in from an hour spent outside over a pot of tea with a guy who's stranded outside. My mam owns the hotel and if there were rooms to be had, I'd have done what I could to get him one. The fact is, not only is the hotel booked solid, we're sleeping on the floor of the cocktail lounge. There is no room at all. So, being the hospitable Gael that I am, I asked the night porter if I could go in to get a pot of tea. He was not happy about this, because it's his job to make sure that nothing happens at night, so I explained who I was and that I'd take full responsibility for the entire plan. So myself, scorplett and the poor stranded american spend an hour sitting on waterproof slacks on top of the very wet benches waffling on about anything and everything over a pot of tea and smoking cigarettes. At six AM we sent him back to his B&B with the hopes that the owner/operator would be awake cooking breakfast. I genuinely hope he got in, because it's just started raining.
