"Nature Power, both of you!" Tommy shouted, and the two did thier dirty work. The Power of Nature unleashed a mighty double-Earthquake on the two opposing pokemon. Rhydon was hit by the first Earthquake, and then the second, which made the driller fall into a heap, knocked out. The Mightyena was thrown up into the air twice, once by each Earthquake. However, it was still standing. Lotad was hit hard by and Seedot's Earthquake, and Seedot was hit hard by Lotad's. They both came down to about 50% HP left each, give or take. Mightyena proceeded to then chomp down onto Seedot's poor head. "Aww, crud. Lotad, Protect! Seedot, Explode, Explode!" Tommy ran to hide behind his Lotad's Protect. After a quick bright flash from Seedot, the explosion occured, and Mightyena was sent high into the sky, only to land a football field's lenght away, knocked out from such impact of the Explosion. Tommy returned his fainted Seedot and tired Lotad. "You guys earned the rest." Tommy said. He could foresee more pokemon coming, and chucked out his Marshtomp just in case.

Matthias was ready this time and brought up his claws to deflect Amadeus', his claws burning with a black flame of equal intensity. However, he was pushed back by the impact, and found he was being overwhelmed. "He might have sinned by murdering my sister and marrying a demon of lesser blood, but Amaranth was my brother and he shall be avenged one way or another!" He flapped his wings, but not to fly to safety. Red sparks fell from his scaled wings upon Amadeus.

Matthias didn't even get a chance to react. As Amadeus' claws pierced his chest and heart, the amulet he wore around his neck fell out of his shirt. It's purple gem was attached to a silver chain via a black metal piece shaped like vines that entwined around the seemingly lusterless gemstone. Matthias began to fall to his knee as his eyes glazed over. He was dead.

Maddy ran up from the beach to find her teammates in the midst of battle. "Sorry I was gone so long! It took a while to regain control of mys--!!" Her eyes stopped on the sight of Matthias' lifeless body hitting the ground. "F-FATHER!!!" Maddy ran forward, heading straight for her Father's side. Tears burned in her eyes and flowed down her cheeks. She slid to a halt and landed on her knees next to her Father's body and just gazed upon the man whom she loved so dearly. Sadness welled up inside her, and she wept as she stroked the black hair of which she shared. "Father..."

Tommy noticed Maddy come out, and then at Matthias' demise. "Oh no..." Tommy noticed a Rhyhorn sizing him and Marshtomp up. Muddy Water on the Rhyhorn..." "Yep." Rhyhorn was knocked out. "I hope you hit Marshtomp. You know which move to use." "Righty oh, Tommy. HYDRO PUMP!" The huge ammount of water rushed towards Amadeus. (edit) There was no telling what would happen next.

"Ah, crap." Tommy muttered as he looked at Maddy's changing form, then at the goliath rock dude coming from behind the pillar. He had to be able to help, but he didn't know if he could work together with Maddy with her in that state. "Marshtomp, come back." Marshtomp was returned, and Tommy continued to look at the rock demon. He tried to communicate with Maddy. "Maddy, can you hear me? Am I considered friend or foe at the moment?" Tommy called out to her. He couldn't tell, but he was sure the wind had picked up slightly, as if with the tension in the air.

With a growl, Maddy took off after Amadeus, flying after him. Black flames trailed behind her wing tips as she spiraled towards him. She had no trouble keeping up with him as they ascended the pillar together, and she kept lashing out at him with her claws, bursts of black flame erupting from her and leaving deep gashes within the stony face of the pillar. She kept missing him, as she was only getting used to her new form and power. "Get back here, cousin!" She growled at him in the guttural demon language. It seemed that Maddy's inner demon had knowledge of the family history.

Obelos peered down at Tommy and laughed. He stamped a foot into the ground and a rock leapt up into his hands. He crushed the rock in between his palms, sending sharp rock shards flying at the boy.

"Crap. Again." Tommy muttered as he quickly went to the left, therefore avoiding the shards altogether. "I'm gonna need all the help I can get... Gah. Come on out!" Marshtomp, Lotad, Bayleef, and Grovyle all appeared to help out Tommy. "Ok, think, Tommy... I got it! Grovyle, Bayleef sneak over near to that guy, don't get seen. I know you can. Lotad, I might need a Protect from you. Meanwhile, Marshtomp, you get ready for a Hydro Pump!" After all of this prep work, the gush of water flowed straight for the goliaths head, hoping to have some effect on it. The green duo had already snuck around.
