@aizen: I think of clans mostly as things of the RP, rather than the system. They make for good back stories and ways to start a style. I don't think I'm too crazy with any of their effects (which is why I went no-clan this time around)
As for Aburame: No, they aren't a medic clan at all, nor are most of the clans. It appears that you do have Fuuma however...
Here's what I'd do for the long haul. I'd focus on healing and summons (like you said), but also buffs that you can put on other people. Medics aren't just healers, they're support.
You can combine the elements of your character into one form, such as:
-Healing: using bugs to mend and heal wounds (look up the medicinal uses for leeches and maggots. Its disgusting, yet amazing). A lot of creepy crawlies have medicinal uses that you can utilize.
-Buffs: Many bugs have good qualities, and at the same time, many bugs have poisons. What if you had a species of bug who's sting or bite was a buff (such as an enzyme that works like an adrenaline shot).
-Attack: Your element is water, and you have bugs. Look up bugs that live in the water!
Perhaps you carry nutrient rich swampy water that you can feed to a species of bug in your body. With just a bit of chakra, and a sip of the water, the species grows into huge insect to aid you in battle.
Unleash a swarm of dragonflies to stun and confuse your foe, then sick'em with some nasty biting flies to devour them (look up insects like the tarantula hawk, that thing is really bad!)
If you want a summon or ally that isn't bug-related, why not get something that is water based (otter perhaps?), or something that eats insects (like a bird). Otherwise, a summon contract doesn't necessarily have to be related to your clan or style.
-Not to mention, an awareness bonus is always nice to have :3. That extra 5% can come in handy
aaaand... that was my 2 cents

What Vash said. Now that two mods approve, his two cents is worth 10 bucks. Enjoy.

I was thinking weasel for the longest of time, and didn't realise there were so many veriations of Water/land mammals.
Totally got my work cut out for me on this summon project lol!
