"It looks as though my presence is no longer required," the medic said quietly as she watched everyone but the Captain and...Boda, was it?, go off on their own little excursions to differing parts of the ship. "Captain, permission to take Sonja back to sickbay now that the debrief is over?" Even though she wasn't military and had no experience with it, she figured she might as well try to follow etiquette in an attempt to make up for the one or two times she perhaps stepped out of bounds.

"Go ahead, Doctor," Aurora replies to Miya, "Just be on stand-bye until everyone who has gone off-ship returns."
Mio really didn't need much from storage to do the modification to the airlock and was already at work. Those heading out would see the bottom portion of his legs and his tail poking out of an access hatch over the airlock. Mostly he was just adding a couple extra bioform sensors, the rest was reprogramming to put in what was to be watched for, and to link that with the airlock's shutting mechanism. Basic stuff to him, really, it was basic quarantine protocols in any facility, he was just adapting versus a specific marker rather than anything foreign.
Upon reflection, the station probably had areas locked off due to the infection, which was going to make traversing the interior that much more difficult without overriding the lock. And judging from the emergency lights on outside, the station was in security lockdown level 4, to boot. Overriding that was going to be a b***h, as that was surely going to halt any progress as well. Of course, opening those lock doors meant opening the way to deal with...he cuts off his train of thought and uses the safe them to refer to the creatures.
Those who had access to his psyche report knew that Mio did best when he had something to do to keep his mind off the gravity of their situation. Those images from Aleron's debriefing had shaken him, not because of what they were, but what they had been before being twisted by the unknown pathogen. Unfortunately, this modification was so easy that his mind was let to wander, which inevitably left him imagining just what other horrors the pathogen could have created by mutating the bodies of the personnel on board the station.
Those passing by on the way out would hear him muttering to himself; those with sharp ears who paid attention would realize he was expressing fears about what they would find on their foray into the station's interior later.

Miya nodded, going over to Sonja's stretcher and started back towards sickbay. Med-kit on her back, emergency energy blade and vibro knife on her hip and thigh, and the pistol from Misha still in her pocket, the half-elf was fairly calm...though she was a little nervous. What if Sonja had been exposed to the infection catalyst? Would she be able to defend herself in the worst case scenario? She shivered, but kept on her way, pushing those thoughts aside. Any problems would be dealt with when they arose; until then, she'd focus on the present.

Sonja would wake again as she's wheeled into the infirmary. She blinks a few times after opening her eyes and seems a little better able to focus. "Nngh...have any of that genesi-stim gel around...?" she asks, her eyes flicking to Miya. She hadn't looked at her abdomen, but she knew what had to be there, and the stuff she named was wonderful for promoting quick healing. The doctors on the station had been well-supplied with the stuff to deal with major miner injuries.

(( eh, no worries, i know i probably won't be able to do too much yet. everyone knows that medics don't do crap 'til all hell starts to break loose. XD but thanks for giving me something to do. ))
Miya's head turned towards the sound of her patient's voice, speckled eyes looking at the now-awake woman. "...'Genesi-stim gel'? ...I'm not completely familiar with the supplies here, but I'll take a look." She'd seen a cabinet full of different ointments and such when she'd checked the place out earlier, so she started her search there. A mere second or two was spent reading the label of each container and, after a minute, she found what she was looking for.
Gel in hand, she headed back over to Sonja. "...You might not want to look down," she stated, pausing a few seconds before removing the gauze 'band-aids' (revealing the hole and the cauterized flesh) and applying the gel, then placing fresh gauze 'band-aids' back on.
(( ......why am i getting a bad feeling about this...? ))

((>w> Gee, I dunno why you're getting a sensation of impending doom...))
Sonja averts her eyes, but it wasn't like she didn't feel the doctor's fingers inside the hole that didn't belong there in any living being. Fortunately, the spar had shoved things out of the way, so without the metal holding it open, the overall wound track was pretty narrow.
"So...we're on the station, aren't we...?" she asks once the process was all over.

"Yeah. Our ship got damaged right after we rescued you, so we landed on the station. Though it sounds like everyone's doing their best to get the ship running again," she said in her usual quiet, almost melodic voice as she wiped any stray gel off her hands with some gauze. "Do you by chance know anyone named..." she paused for a few seconds, eyes looking to the ceiling, trying to remember the name...she'd always been bad with names... "...Gin Namida? The field crew found her earlier, wandering around the station."

"Miss Namida...? Yeah, she patched me, Bryce, and...Leyton up a few times," she replies, voice catching as she recalled her friends that were now dead. Sighing, she adds, "...I'm glad to hear she'd fine. How bad is it on the station...?"

"...If you want, I'll let Gin come and visit you later. I figure you might want to see someone else from the station." The half-elf smiled a bit, thinking it would be nice for the two survivors to talk and know the other's okay and such. At Sonja's question, however, the smile faded a bit. "I don't know for sure what the station's like. I only left the ship once when we went to rescue you, but I didn't really look around or explore. But, according to what I've heard from others...the power's minimal, there's this weird mold-ish infection stuff in certain places, and...they've already encountered a few creatures...Aleron even has two dead 'specimens' in his lab." Miya knew that, although it might be hard to hear, the flat-out truth would be better in the long run so Sonja wouldn't get any false ideas.

Sonja would wince at the mention of the creatures. "So...whatever they were mucking about with consumed the station..." she murmurs faintly, turning her head to look away. "Leyton...he'd...been attacked by a thing that resembled some sort of cross between a pterosaur and a mosquito...the scientists had asecret facility down on the planet. We weren't really supposed to know about it, but they ordered us to take Leyton's body down there...that...thing must have infected him with that yellow bile from it's nose, because he...changed into something that had two bladed arms..."
Her voice was soft, and she was crying a little now, but she couldn't stop talking. She had to say it. "Bryce sent me into the back of the shuttle to investigate the odd noise we heard. That's when I saw...the change happen. It attacked, but I manage to doge around. Bryce attacked it with a pistol, but...that did little other than get Its attention..."
Her voice grows unsteady from sobbing, "Bryce...he...got impaled...and...he told me sorry before...he set off a detonator. Bryce was consumed, and so was the...the thing...I got thrown back and stuck to the bulkhead with a spar I don't remember even entering..."

Miya listened silently to the story, taking mental notes of the information and feeling pain in her heart for the woman's loss. A hand came to gently rest upon Sonja's back; a sign of comfort when the proper words are missing or non-existent. After a period of silence, she very quietly spoke the only words that came to mind. "...At least you're still alive."

Sonja shakes her head slightly and whispers, "...For how long...?" It wasn't a doubt expressed about her wound; it was directed at their current situation of being trapped on the station.

(( s'okay. ))
"Quite a while longer if all goes well," she responded quietly and calmly, her elven ears picking up on the woman's previous statement. "Mio's fixing the ship and Aleron's trying to work on a cure for the infection...we'll all make it out of here." The way she said it, it sounded less like reassurance and more like fact. She'd heard what Mio could accomplish...she'd seen what Aleron could make; she somehow knew they'd all make it out alive.

Gin was glad she'd gotten fresh ammo. And she thought she'd reconized the woman who'd been resuced. Though.. calling her rescued when she was here on this ship again was a laugh. She refiled her guns and feeling much better with that and the extra ammo she sighed.
"I should go out there with them "she muttered. Perhaps she'd ask the captin about it. And appologise for her behavior. Then again.. that ment being out there.. with that.. guy. She knew what logic said, but she also knew what she'd seen, bites, feaver coma and then one of those things He'd been bitten. And she wasn't posative of the incubation time between that and the feaver then coma. She ran her fingers though her hair a little bit.
"I need to talk to the captin" she muttered then headed out of the ammo storage, thanking the one who'd helped her out with getting it. And headed back for the gally. Seemed the captin might still be there.
