That was always something to get used to for her...the movement of riding horseback, seeing as with Serino it lacked and with Nightmare it was there. Though it wasn't entirely unpleasant, meant she had to hold on to Malik and that was just fine with her. Though her mind was turning to other things than the ride, most pointedly to the series of events that were no doubt soon to follow. Well...it had to happen some time now didn't it?
Serino didn't even need to be told by Zahara to get a move on, as soon as Nightmare was three strides into her gallop he was in his, following with ease and keeping back that was adequate to Nightmare's standards. OF course at the slight behind angle he was at the wind he kicked up did indeed naturally pick up and mix with the mare own flames. It was a nice effect.
Okay...this was just weird. There seemed to be no motion to this thing...like he was sitting still in a chair...yet clearly the terrain was moving around him. No, it wasn't just weird. It was irritating and a bit unnerving as well. But he was doing rather well, knees mostly doing the work of holding him steady and on while one hand held to his pole arm and the other hand been taken hostage to a ferret who was out of his hiding place and sitting on his knee. Nym was having more fun than him about this, that was for sure.
Though his mind was occupied by watching the little fire tornadoes that rose from the ground in the wake of the two horses. Not an uncommon thing to him, but it was always from to watch. Flames and wind joined and swirled upward for a moment in a dance all their own before breaking from each other and dissipating as if never there. Yes, he could appreciate things like that...

Ah the freedom that came with riding a Zephyr. As much as she would love to ride a nightmare, a Zephyr was the next best thing she supposed. Comfortable too with the lack of motion that was to the ride. Though she thought she may miss the feel of ride. Must take some time to get used to Zephyrs. Maybe something to ask Piper about. Though at least Sevilin was keeping his mouth shut. By Lloth if he started complaining she would smack him. Smack him so hard he would no longer be riding with her...then she'd had Serino all to herself. But her actions betrayed her thoughts because she just behaved herself.

Ashlyn was just following the rest of the group, staying well out of the way of the others, not keen on getting her wigns clipped by..well anything. So she languidly followed, not relaly interested in where they were going. Hey! Would you quite figeting up there?
Din patted the griffin. "S-sorry. Things are getting difficult. I'm trying my best." He swallowed and willed himself to stay manifest. Not an easy thing when your body wanted to break apart and add it's mass to the enarest living thing.
Morelle's claws dug into Onyx's shoulder, trying to keep a good hold while the vah was flying. His ears were pulled back, and his eyes were wattering. He gave a pathetic little chitter.

The creature crawled along the side of the tunnel, if it could be considered crawling. The mass of scales and teeth pawed slowly as to not allert the entire cave complex to its presence. The sheer size of the creature could topple buildings as easily as any tremer ever could, and its claws were the length of a man's weist. The wings were not used for a great many years, too large to spread fully in this deep labyrinth of small rivers and tunnels. More often than not, Tiranith had to tunnel his way from one food source to another, but soon that would be no more the truth.
Tiamat had assured this monstrosity that the Gateway in the fortress on the hill near the river by the forest held the location of another plane, one where the sky was not a poisonous fume and the land toxic waste. Though this beast could endure such things, his food could not.
He rounded the last corner of the tunnel, his head poking through the opening first to scan the area to make sure that he would not be seen so vulnerable. His size prevented him from fighting to his full potential in such tunnels. Nothing to the left or right, and nothing beneath, but turning his head upwards did not grant the same measure of freedom.
Waiting on a rock jut just above the river entrance, Tarathiel watched the large black dragon's head entre the lake cavern. It looked up at him and he smiled back. Dropping from the ledge, the drow struck his scimitar's out at the beast's head and face, scratching a few long gashes along its body, severing the scales from the mass of flesh. The creature roared tremendously in defiance of the creatures' surprise round and the few hits he managed on the beautiful body.
Wasting no time at all, the great head snapped forward as quickly as a snake, trying to grasp the small falling creature in its mouth, but for one reason or another, his teeth did not close, he tosed his head forward and spat the creature out, who simply turned around in the air and landed on the water on its feet and stood their looking up at the creature.
"I've been waiting for you, Tyranyth." The drow said in a rather amused fascion.
"And so you prepared for my teeth." The dragon roared at the impudent little creature, who somehow knew his name. "I have no quarell with you dumpling, now be gone before I really try to kill you." A nervous retort, if one could ever say a dragon was nervous.
"Oh, you do. You see, that gateway and everything beyond is mine, I saw it first and I got here first."
"I am not so foolish as to believe that I can control the whole of the world beyond, perhaps, we can share?"
"Why bargin with an inferrior creature, Tyrenyth." The cocky little creature baited.
"Because I do not care what becomes of you, and do not care to waste the time or effort seeing you dead."
"I think I could make a lovely throne from your skull, as I did with Haephaestus."
"KIMMURIEL!" The dragon roared, and spewed forth a spary of the most toxic acid a creature would willing store in its body, it washed over the drow and into the water of the lake, and boiled the water beneth the drow's feet. But, the creature remained floating.
"I watched you crawl through the earth and fire to get here, Tirenith." The drow replied, "What makes you think I did not go and buy the Cloak of Acid Protection?"
"No such thing exists."
"Then why am I still alive?"
The creature lunged at the drow who didn't quite manage to jump out of the way, taking a bit of the force of the creature which pinned him to the lack surface with several claws.
The dragon was to its knees in the water, save for the fore paw holding the drow firmly in one place. "You Ring of Waterwalk failed you this time, Drow."
"Yeah, but the Nine Live's Stealer wont." A moment later the black corpse of the dragon sank into the water of the lake, and the ancient soul of the dragon was not to be found.
The drow rolled onto his stomach, and rose softly to his knees and spat blood on the water's surface, and watched it sink into the lake. That last hit must have crushed his skull partially in. His helmat was re-shaped and probably would have to be cut off. The armour on the other hand, had kept him quite safe. "I need a new-" Talking was not fun, so he decided to merely think about the new helmet he needed as he slipped his wild card back into its shief on his belt. His scimitar was probably underneth the corpse, which was now being eaten by every creature in the lake. In a few minutes, maybe a tooth would escape the ravounous lake. New helmet, new scimitar. Then again, he did have five more scimitars. No, he needed all six, incase he ever did actually have to go to war.

"I did your work. The animals were sent out ages ago."
"What is it that you are complaining about?"
"I want my tower back. As was promised."
"I see no record of your transaction. With us on this account. I have the reciept of your deliverey. But I see notihng here that pertains to a two way transaction."
"I made a verbal agreement..."
"Should have got it in writing. I am sorry miss...Laudi. But I am not permitted to talk to you after our transaction. Good day."
"If you think I am going to leave when you still owe me..."
"Oh, you don't want to leave? Other arrangements can be made." He turned to his fellow lab coat. "Would you fetch some of the black silks?"
"What do you think you are doing?"
"I am not sorry miss Laudi, as you are sometihng to look at, aren't you? If you don't want to leave now, then you'll just stay here."
"I am not staying anywhere..."
"Oops. Looks like you already had your chance." He reached into his pocket at pulled out a crude pair of shackles.

Malik and Nightmare made quick time, Onyx overhead. they knew this path well enough, that oracle had better be there. and so help somethign that tried to stop them from seeing her, even Tarathiel himself. He had one of the collars, and fully intended to see if she coudl divine whom at least made the damned thing.
Onyx took Morelle off his shoulder at his chittering, and held in in hsi hands, close to his body as not to lose him. despite being mom's familiar, Morelle could still be killed from hte kind of fall he'd take it he got knocked off unknowingly.
"don't worry so much. we'll be fine."

She was feeling a little of the wear and tear of the morning's earlier battle...this she was lazily leaned against Malik, for once oblivious to his armor and hers as well. Eh she didn't care she was comfortable...relitivly speaking.
Well it was a nice peace...she was quiet, she wasn't complaining, and she wasn't touching him. No it wasn't a bad trip at all. It was quiet between the ranks and smooth sailing so to speak. Quiet the nice relaxer after the morning's work out skirmish. Though okay he would admit...it was getting boring. How long away did this oracle live.

Zahara was bored out of her mind. She'd been sitting there not saying a word but this was really driving her nuts. She felt herself start to lean back and snapped up straight the minute her back came into contact with the other warm, hard one behind her. And that started all kinds of thoughts in her head. Now why was her mind going in that direction? Just because he was hot meant not a damn thing. Stupid procreation instincts. She sighed softly though it was probably loud enough for Sevilin to hear.

Morelle chittered his thanks. He wasn't certain that he liked flying. He gave a happy squeal when he finally saw a building in the distance. Surly this trip would end, yes?

Onyx got there first, landing heavy in form of the little building, before replacing Morelle on his shoudler and extending his claws. despite whirlwind's comments to the contrary, he was still of half a mind that one of them was going to shoot something or come running out form somewhere intent on trying to kill or eat him. damned kobold.
Malik stopped by the enterance to the maze, where Iris was still standing. at least they were keeping her fed and watered apparently.
"Iris. You duties to the Oracle out here are no longer needed. head back to the main home, and see if there are further duties required. the Oracle is moving form here soon enough, and if she no longer needs your service then I will be having you returned to the fortress."
not to mention they can follow her through the maze and thus avoid most of any potential traps or problems. one of those little bonuses of having one of yur slaves in someone else's house.

Iris bowed from her waist. Heeding her masters wishes, she headed for the fortress. Circumventing the maze on her way.
Aella, using her staff as a walking poll, came through the narrow path that lead to the little harbor. "You can let your gaurd down, you know." She smiled. "No one left inside except Warren and Eliot. And they will be comming with me soon." She ppinted to the departing Iris. "Any valuable resorce has been deactivated and moved. Meilikki's spiders aren't even there anymore."

Sevilin only straightened his back and gave somewhat of a glare over his shoulder. "I am not your chair..." That was as far as he would say on the matter. What? Just because she got to ride in the front gave her license to lean back into him and use him to keep herself up because she was lazy? He didn't think so...but thank Lloth because it seemed they were where they needed to be now. Yeah...he still hated horses.
Piper roused herself from her half oblivious state as they came upon things, Malik giving out orders and then Aella making herself known as well. Oh good, people were here. That was a good thing. Meant less trouble in the long run. "Luck seems to giving us a bit of it's time today."

She really wanted to say something to him, something bratty and uncalled for, something that would make his jaw drop and Piper gasp, but she had to behave herself so she simply sat up straighter and said softly, "I'm sorry. I'm just a little worn out from earlier, it wont' happen again." Oh look, someone else to break the monotony of the journey. That was a good thing at least and it seemed that they might have finally arrived at our destination. "Are we there?" Obvious question, most likely. But it's not like Zahara had a clue. She'd seen all of the terrain from her home city to Malik's Keep and that was about it.

Onyx's claws sheathed.
"I was more concerned for a little kobold who seems to not like to listen unless he really has to. how have you been whirlwind?"
a grin as the rest came in behidn him shortly.
"Malik was a bit concerned you might not be here. we had an...issue this morning."
Malik glanced at Zahara in annoyance.
"No. we're just here to talk to the locals for moral support."
Rolling his eyes and dismounting, getting Piper down as well, and looking to Whirlwind.
"The Oracle. we require some answers..and apparently we've run into another member of her extended family. And where exactly are you movign to, so that sh emay be contacted at a later date? or Kimmuriel, for that matter?"

Din was a few feet away. petting over Ashlyn with a gloved hand and appologizing for almost entering into her. She kept bitting at him, but he'd just pet her until she was only half angry.
She smiled. "Tames is on the ship currently." She pointed back out inot the harbor where they ship waited. "I've only stayed because we haven't moved Meilikki out entirely yet, and Warren can't move much of late. When things settle down, we'll be setting sail."
"And I've been good. What issue?"
"The Oracle has currently been moved to her new castle. I can tell you where it is, even bring you there. But.." She twisted her hands on her staff. "I don't think they'll let you in."
"I have no idea where Kimmuriel is, or how you could reach him."
