*Maggie takes another step back, reaching a hand out to grab the back of the chair she was sitting in, as though to steady herself. Something about Kara's expression is giving her the sinking feeling that she's in trouble here*
That's . . . ehm . . . nay, I suppose ye dinna . . . well. *she takes a deep breath, reminding herself that she's in the Brink, and not back at the inn where she has to defer to her social betters*
Kara, truly, I believe we all deserve a chance here. There may be some things about you that I . . . that I dinna agree with. But surely 'tis te be expected here, with people coming from such different worlds and times. I wouldna wish te judge anyone too quickly.

*Maggie's eyes widen. Kara's way too close for comfort . . . she tries to slip away from her sideways without seeming too outwardly rude about it* Ah . . . ehm, aye, well.
*she reaches her hand out to gather up her sewing again, just to have something to keep between them, and tries to steer the conversation into more comfortable territory* Perhaps, then, we can sit and talk for a bit . . . I'd be interested te hear about your time, if ye dinna mind talking about it. Ye live there with yer brother, de ye not?
