MISSION- Colossal Fossils
Some evil fossil Pokemon have been attacking people! Right now they're headed for Mossdeep City! Your mission is to stop them! You will fight 4 Kabutops and 1 Aerodactyl.

As usual, I turned on the news just as I did every afternoon to see if there was some disaster I had to save people from. Usually it told of simple things, but today there was a news crew in Lilycove City showing damage and destruction. I turned up the volume. “From sources that will not be named, they claimed that five Pokemon: four Kabutops and one Aerodactyl, ran straight through the city and went into the sea. We do not know currently what caused them to attack, but it is under investigation.” I turned of the television and walked out in front of HQ.

“Charizard, let’s go!” I released Charizard from his Pokeball and hopped on, heading for Lilycove City.

When I arrived I took a look at the path of destruction from the air before landing at the beginning. There I found a deserted mine that had been boarded up before, but now the wooden planks were in pieces all over the ground. I assumed some kids had been messing around the mine, and had awoken the fossil Pokemon, so I went in search of the culprits.

I didn’t go far when I heard faint whimpering. Two boys of around 12 years old were lying on the ground next to each other, cut and bruised. They looked terrified when they saw me. “We didn’t do nothin’ mister, I swear. We was just playin’ around the mine when they broke out, and they attacked us because we were in their way.” The terror in his eyes told me that they were telling the truth, so I went back to the mine to investigate.

I returned Charizard before going inside; I didn’t want his tail flame igniting any gases or whatever they had been mining before. The mine had been closed due to an explosion, and I wasn’t taking any chances. I took out a flashlight and went inside.

It was easy to find which way they had come from, because they had made no attempt to cover their tracks. I followed the tracks until I came to an opening that had apparently just been made. Inside was a large cavern that had never been discovered before. As I explored the cavern, I heard a sound off to my right. I turned and aimed the flashlight to where the sound had come from, and found a Kabuto cowering against the wall.

The Kabuto was sweating and looked very sick. When it looked up at me anger flooded its eyes; it didn’t like intruders. It must have met another human a long time ago, and now believed that all humans are cruel. As I approached Kabuto lashed out and I jumped back. “I’m just trying to help, but if you want to be that way, then I’m just going to have to catch you. Go Venusaur.”

“Venusaur, Razor Leaf!” Razor-sharp leaves flew from Venusaur’s back, cutting up Kabuto. Kabuto kicked mud at Venusaur with Mud Shot. “Venusaur, Vine Whip!” Venusaur lashed at Kabuto with vines, and Kabuto withdrew inside its shell. “Great Ball, go!” The Great Ball, glanced of Kabuto’s shell and absorbed it in red light. Kabuto didn’t even try to give up a fight, and the ball went “ding” before it even shook once. I picked up the Pokeball and rushed out of the mine.

I took Kabuto straight to the Pokecenter, where I handed it over to Nurse Joy to take a look at. After several minutes, I learned that it had a serious infection. “The only cure for this infection resides in Mossdeep City,” Nurse Joy told me. Now I new why the Pokemon had gone through Lilycove and now they were headed toward Mossdeep. I got on Charizard again, and flew out over the sea. I kept my eyes peeled for any of the fossil Pokemon. I didn’t want them to reach Mossdeep City and hurt anyone.

Soon I found all 4 Kabutops. They weren’t far from each other. I flew to the next island ahead of them and waited with my Swampert. When they came near I had Swampert hit each one of them with a Water Gun so they would come after me. It worked and they all climbed onto the island.

The first one to reach the island came at Swampert. “Swampert, Mud Shot!” Swampert shot mud from his mouth, which covered Kabutops. Kabutops slashed at Swampert with Slash. “Swampert, Muddy Water!” Swampert covered Kabutops in mud again (- Accuracy). Kabutops screeched at Swampert with Metal Sound (- Sp. Def.). “Swampert, finish him with Earthquake!” Swampert pounded the ground and Kabutops was hit repeatedly by stones flying up from the ground, and was KOed.

“Swampert, Protect!” Swampert blocked Kabutop’s Mega Drain with an impenetrable shield. Now Kabutops hit Swampert with a Mud Shot. “Swampert, Surf!” A wall of water rose from the sea and hit Kabutops. Kabutops got up and returned the favor with its own Surf. “Earthquake!” Swampert pounded the ground again and Kabutops was thrown around. After it recovered it hit Swampert with Slash (CRITICAL HIT), and Swampert was KOed.

Next I sent out Venusaur. “Venusaur, Vine Whip!” Venusaur whipped Kabutops repeatedly with its vines, and Kabutops was KOed.

The next Kabutops hit Venusaur with Leer (- Def). Venusaur, Solar Beam!” Venusaur began to charge up the beam with small particles of solar energy flowing into the large flower upon his back. Kabutops swiped at Venusaur with Slash. Venusaur released the powerful beam of solar energy, which blasted Kabutops back into the sea. Kabutops slowly climbed back onto the island and attempted a weak Slash. “Venusaur, Giga Drain!” Venusaur absorbed what was left of Kabutop’s energy.

The last 2 Kabutops decided they would have a better chance if they teamed up, so I sent out Gardevoir to team with Venusaur. “Gardevoir, hit the one on the left with Psychic. Venusaur, Sunny Day!” The Kabutops on the left was picked up by an unseen force and slammed into a near palm tree, and the sun got brighter at the same time. The Kabutops who had not been attacked raced at Gardevoir and hit her with Aerial Ace. The other Kabutops picked itself up and hit Venusaur with Slash (CRITICAL HIT). “Venusaur, hit the one on the left with Solar Beam! Gardevoir, Double Team.” Venusaur didn’t have to charge up Solar Beam this time, and Kabutops took Solar Beam right in the chest (CRITICAL HIT) and was KOed. At the same time Gardevoir made duplicated of herself to confuse the other Kabutops, which was slashing frantically at each duplicate. As one disappeared, another took its place. Gardevoir, Psychic. Venusaur, finish it with Solar Beam!” Gardevoir slammed this Kabutops into a large boulder and Venusaur KOed it with another powerful Solar Beam.

Now that the Kabutops were taken care of, I called back to Lilycove City to get them picked up and detained while I searched for the Aerodactyl. I waited until the boat arrived to take off, but I took of quickly and sped towards Mossdeep.

Shortly I arrived in Mossdeep, where I found the Aerodactyl on top of the Pokecenter. “Aerodactyl, stop attacking people!” Aerodactyl only looked at me and snorted, so I landed and sent out Raichu. “Raichu, get his attention with a Thunderbolt.” Raichu nodded at me and zapped Aerodactyl.

Now Aerodactyl took off from the Pokecenter and flew at Raichu, hitting him with a Wing Attack. “Raichu, Shock Wave!” Raichu charged up a ball of electricity and let bolts fly from it at Aerodactyl. Aerodactyl’s eyes glowed red and stones flew up from the ground and rained down on Raichu. “Raichu, Thunder!” Raichu let the powerful electric attack loose, and it struck Aerodactyl. Aerodactyl’s last attack was Hyper Beam, which hit the ground near Raichu. Raichu finished the battle with another Thunderbolt.

Mossdeep City authorities caged the Aerodactyl and sent it back to Lilycove on a boat while I went inside the Pokecenter. “Nurse Joy?” She leapt up from behind the counter and I handed her Kabuto’s Pokeball. “The Nurse Joy in Lilycove told me that this infection can only be cured here in Mossdeep City.” Nurse Joy quickly took Kabuto into the operation room.

I waited half an hour before Nurse Joy came back out with Kabuto’s Pokeball. “Kabuto will be fine. It just needs some rest and it will be healed in no time.” I thanked Nurse Joy and walked outside. I sent out Charizard and flew back to Lilycove, where the police were waiting for me with the fossil Pokemon. “So, what should we do with them?”

I led them back to the mine, where we deposited the Pokemon back in their cavern. “No one should ever disturb them again. We should collapse the mine and set fences around it.” And so my idea was done, so that they fossil Pokemon would be left alone once again, never to be disturbed.

I flew back to HQ and took a nice long shower. “Well, another day’s work is done.”

Me: Yeah, missions aren't so fun when you machine gun through them.
