Zahara didn't trust herself not to speak. For one thing she didn't like being told that she could ride with whoever, that meant she didn't have a place and she was just chattel to be moved wherever it pleased someone to move her. "I'll ride wiht him, I can handle Serino." And she stood up and went into the kitchen getting herself a plate of food. Yum, breakfast. Coming back out she said, "Serino's a good Zephyr and he likes me. We'll be fine. Besides it makes more sense for the two of us to ride together since we play off each other with the rune thing." So she was going to end up riding with that Drow? Joy. Even though it was practical and she'd just stated the resons herself she watned to scream. If he was going to act the way he had been for a while now, it could be a long ride.

"I'd rather not rid with anyone. There is too much chance involved..." he put some bread in his mouth and chewed slowly. "Who's Ashlyn?"
The drums grew a bit louder.
"I mean, I will if I have to, but in my experiance no one likes being possesed you know." Din swayed a bit, as if to music. "Or I can find more things to cover myself with. I think that might work, although sometimes I tend to...permeate through clothing if you will."

"Then Zahara, you'll ride Serino, Sevilin you with her and then Din you can have Ashlyn is that makes you feel better to ride alone. And Ashlyn is a griffin of mine. Quite the sweetheart though she tends to wander off here lately. Hm...I wonder how easy it's going to be to find her..." Though Piper had soem back up ways of finding the griffin if need be.

A small smirk, though a nod at Sevilin.
"good enough for now. at least she can learn it. but continue teaching, particularly anything to aid her healing abilities. or wardings. So we'll finish breakfast, and head that way. Onyx...however, I want you to use those wisp things and see if you can contact that whirlwind girl. see if they've moved, and how to get there."
Onyx looked up, and shrugged, getting up and a glance at Sevilin, before flexing his wings and moving to a window, summonging the little globe of red light to send out looking for Whirlwind.
"If she can be found, it'll find her. but Tarathiel likes to hide in his magics..and those little guys aren't very powerful. if he's hiding her, she's hidden."

Onyx's little whisps hardly made it five hundred feet from the fortress. Something intercepted them, and even a whisp can get chopped down. Which it did, but soem hungry kobolds who were getting rather excited, as the orcs beat them forward.

"I'll continue to do my best Malik." She wanted to say something really badly to Malik about his sadistic reasons for her learning what she was but she bit her tongue and ate her breakfast. So she was riding Serino with Sevilin behind her. Because he wasn't sitting up front, she wasn't going to allow it. She was holding the reins, she was talking to Serino, she was in control dammit. But that dind't fall in with the role she was playing for Sevilin's benefit either. Did that mean she had to let him help her get on the horse? She hoped not, he probably wouldn't do it anyway, not like he was a gentleman and he was too damn paranoid anyway. It didn't take long for her to finish her breakfast and take her plate back in the kitchen. Packing some apples in her bag for Serino she walked back and said, "I'm going to see the horses. Whenever we're ready to go just let me know." A glance at Sevilin, "Please come with me Sevilin, it will only take a moment of your time."

"Might I suggest staying indoors for a bit. in case you didn't hear the drums."
A small smirk. was he alarmed, not really. it would be a good test of the defenses Roarke gave him. and then of course, they could always be just passing by as opposed to coming thier way.
Onyx grumbled.
"Somethign just took out the wisp."
Then his ears perked. drums? how the hell...wait...there it was. faint, but I guess when your paranoid, you tend to listen for little things.
"You know, why is it that it's always you that gets the bad company? I don't hear anyone else getting attacked all the time."

She rolled her eyes as she basically more or less pushed through her meal to get it down to Malik's standards. She didn't care to entertain the fight that would come from it at all. "You can't be more inventive than that?" A shake of her head and a look to Zahara. "Remember, he doesn't do tack. It would just make him mad at you if you tried to tack him...not to mention he could just literally wind his way out of it." Then a look over to Keely who was patiently waiting off to the side. "Keely dear, go with Zahara and Sevilin to the stables. You're to look after the foals while me and Malik have thier parents out, okay?" A happy smile from the girl as she nodded and was about to run out the room before Malik's words stopped her. "Damn and I thought I was imaginaing things."
Sevilin nodded to Malik as he was finishing off his own food. THough his plate was handed off to a random passing slave. Hell yes he'd make use of them. "I'll do what I can without having it kill her...then she'd be completely useless..." Though he sneered at Zahara as she asked him to come with her.

"Drums?" Dinlistened carefully, tilting his head. "I know those drums, They are orcs, probably with kobolds. Clerics too to get through mgaical defenses and what not. Grummsh is supprisingly good at being a bother." But he tilted his head the other way, "if I remeber correctly that is..."
He got up and looked out a window, seeing the cloud. "Oh my."

"I know Piper, I know. And he only does what he wants to do and he likes apples and if you say 'as the wind' you're in for a grand old surprise." She had been about to leave when Malik spoke up and she cocked her head listening with her sensitive ears. Oh look there were drumbeats. Coming back into the dining room she leaned agaist the wall. "Okay, so I'm staying inside then. Does anyone know what to do about these...orcs and things?" Now how hadn't she heard them? Must have been too busy ignoring the things she wanted to say in her mind. Not alert...that wasn't a good thing. SHe needed to fix that and quickly, falling into her role easily might save her life when they were out.

"Clerics alone are not going to get them past my defense. one ogre can kill several dozen kobolds. and quite a few orcs under normal circustance. and mine don't feel pain."
Gesturing to a slave.
"The new pets, let them loose into the enemy. I want all archers prepared. all patroling breakers are to get together near the front gates and back gates. Necromancers are to ressurect the enemy dead for internal conflicts in the ranks as they fall. heat and fear shields should do a number on the ranks, and the statues as well. Piper, head up to help any archers you think aren't ready. Zahara, you stay here with Din, and be ready for injured. Onyx, you go with Piper. Me and Sevilin will take the front and back gates, respectivly. Of course..if nothing comes at the back, feel free to come of front."
Then another moment of thought.
"Lock all the Souless up in breaker rooms, just in case this is a trap beign sprung by our enemy."

For a moment Piper braced her temples with her thumb and middle finger. "We can't ever just wake up and do things around here can we?" A shake of her head before she pushed away from the table and stood up, gesturing to Onyx as she pulled her bow from off her shoulder. "Come on Onyx." Though a look to Malik before she left. "be careful, alright?"
Sevilin nodded. Alright some action. Apparently his use as a proficent killing machine would be appreciated as well. "Will do Lord D'Vinn." Didn't need to tell him twice, he was up for killing something. "Nym you stay here too." And he waited for the creature to leave his person before he made his way to be where he was instructed to be. Fun indeed.

"Injured? I don't have very stong clerical abilities..." He didn't really argue though. He could fight, but he didn't want to. His form of dispatching an apoopnent was gruesome. He looked at Zahara and waved.
The first of the kobolds were just stepping over the fear barriar, some did in fact turn tail and run, but kobolds being as the are stayed firm in their position.
The eight humanoid beings newly shipped from the hooded man were sent out, and for a moment they stood and regarded the specital. There was something strangely odd and recognizable in the way the all stood.

Well she had her assignment didn't she? Of course she'd have to stay inside where none of the action was happening and take care of the injured. Damn Malik, why didn't he ever let her fight? It was just as much her job to protect his Keep as it was his. Sighing she simply nodded, "Alright." But if it stays as empty in here as I think it will I'm coming out and helping. Because I can help. Sevilin and I make a pretty good team when it comes down to it and he can give me a hell of a boost to help out with this stupid thing. But for now, she'd obey. So she sat down and looked at Din, grinning at his wave. "Looks like it's you and me kid. Not good with clerical spells? How familiar are you with healing?"

"Becuase Tarathiel likes to play games, and we're on the hitlist of a few probably becuase we 'appear' weaker than a drow or human empire. either way, it's just like a morning exercise. and both of us will be careful."
A glance at Onyx.
"She falls, you fall. understand?"
Onyx nodded and went up after Piper, grinning at Malik some.
"Yes I get it. your mate dies, messeger gets it too. Piper is my father's friend. if you didn't do the task he probably will..speaking of which. Morelle? take a look after the ferret.if your around."
Little bugger was usually close by nowadays. or mayb e he went with Moonstone wherever he was.
