"Wait a second," he places his hand on his chin and starts pondering, like all great reporters do as they start putting all the jigsaw pieces together. "You know something? Sketchy is my pet, you can't just grab him like that, he has a mind of his own! After all he can investigate stuff just as well as I can..." He looks at sketchy now, focusing his eyes purely upon the great bounds of the book, yes his eyes would pierce its soul, but he was not aiming to destroy it, but to merely stir its will to move. Soon... yes soon, it would fight against Edwards and make its way towards Charles, he just had to focus hard enough on it.

"Is that so... Well, what do you think Charles?"
The tone of amusement in his voice was keeping him calm for the moment, this game all too fun to play.
"Sketchy may be a pet, but I am a pet as well... Who knows, I might just opt to fight it out between me and the book..."

"Reveal what you may, light shall always overcome darkness!" Charles can do nothing but to shout back at Edwards. His dear friend life hanging within the palm of Sketchy. His thoughts were now a bit frantic, making it harder to concentrate on his friend, but he would still try to focus as he continued to speak. "If Sketchy shall die today, it will be of just gains, for spilling his pages of the ink that corse through his veins be that of freedom, and freedom holds no bounds but to reveal the burden from our shoulders. So yes reveal what you must, for light shall overcome darkness!"

"What darkness? Do we seem like some sort of evil clan of crew members out to destroy the very souls of our guild members?" She asks eying Charles a moment while reaching for anything handy that she might be able to throw at him.

"You know Charles, you're pretty cute when you're angry like that..."
His voice was smooth as he taunted the poor man, the small sketchbook seeming to writh slightly as it sat in his hands. His nails dug into the cover for a moment, before he sauntered over to the couch. His lith form sprawled over the soft surface and a smile lit his entire face as he handed the book to Serena.
"Throw it to him, maybe if he gets it back he might toss us a few hints..."

Charles approaches them dauntingly, caring not what they may throw at him, or what they may do to sketchy. Reporters die everyday in the field, true character is determined through the hardships, and if he could not even face them now, how could he ever face them? How could he ever bring the good news to the people? He couldn't, so he had to approach them boldly, and spoke sharply for them to hear. "You see, the darkness I speak of is not of evil, but of secrecy, you hold secrets of these special events from the members, and they deserve to know the rights behind them. They deserve to know what goes on behind those lock doors. If not the people keep you in check, then what bounds could you be held by? Nothing, and a group who is held by no other power is one of chaos, and could become corrupt. If you allow me to do my job, I will do just that, and help these fellow members to ensure that you are doing your job. Yet if you do not want me to do my job, then please, let the members decide."
He eyed sketchy cautiously, "Sketchy is merely a bystander of this, let him not be in the fray, I shall take the full heat of this, so please hand him over unharmed."

She takes the book within her grasp and runs her fingers over the cover much as one would caress a lost treasure. "I think, Charles your delusions of grander have clouded you," she says after a moment tucking her foot under her on the chair she still sat upon. "For we only hide that which is not needed to be known. Those tedious things that none wish to know of."
She rests the book, known as Sketchy in her lap her hand a top the cover. "I think to protect the guild one must make sacrifices. You Charles will have to make sacrifices. And that very sacrifice shall be your dear friend."

"Very well then, Charles, this matter is now out of my hands. My lovely Serena-Chan now controlls the matter."
His warm ocher eyes closed and his smile drifted away for a moment, a serene expression drifting over his marble features.
"What she does is her own decision, I am simply a catalyst to what is to come."

"If you wish to remove Sketchy from my grasp forever," he looked down at the ground, "So be it." A smile spread across his face now, a madman would call his laugh appealing as well as familiar, but a normal and quaint man would say he had the look of a man who knew no fear.
"He has served well for me. You may take my friend from me, but think not the war is over. No, you may have won this battle, but I will preserver and I will reveal even more of those secrets that are 'not needed to be known', for secrets will never be kept! And one day, Sketchy will be back in my grasp. The War shall be mine!"

She eyes the reporter getting the feeling that he just might have cracked under the pressure. Her fingers play over the soft leather cover of Sketchy. She flips the book open wondering what she might find. As she reads the words written there she begins to wonder if this reporter was not a madman before all of this. She flips a few pages the notion growing stronger. Finally she shuts the book with a thump and rests her hand once more on the cover.
"Charles I fear you have tainted your friend with madness, it would not be right for me to return him to such as you." She says calmly her expression serious.

With a soft shiver Sariel once again pulls himself from the couch, a small imprint of his body left on the silky cushions.
"I am sorry it had to be this way Charles, I would have given him back Had I not promised him to Serena..."
He yawned deeply and walked into the small kitchen a few rooms away, his desire for a glass of milk growing stronger as the situation grew worse. While sipping his milk he slowly walked back into the room, honestly expecting a fist-fight by the time he returned.

A simple shake of the head, Charles peers at Sketchy, and then back to Serena. "He is a friend, and friends do not lead one to their downfall, but merely lead one to greatness. They share their beliefs and help one stand strong, stand up to the tyranny of this world. So he may be 'tainted' with my beliefs, but be it not that the earth be tainted with the sun’s kiss? Nay! It is beyond comprehensible of bonds that you shall not know of! To try to destroy such bonds, that is an atrocity! And the penance shall be yours alone to hold. Yet it is not I who shall hold you responsible for your actions, no, in the end you shall face the shear consequence of your own actions!"
Charles started to turn away, "The people will decide who is right. They will decide if it is I who is merely delusional, and that I should quit clue hunting, or" a grin across his face, "that I was right and you have become corrupt with power, and that your secrets should be led into light."
His eyes turned once more to his dear friend, "I will never forget you, you have become the martyr for freedom! Long live the meek, for we shall inherit the world!"

She slowly stands from her seat keeping Sketchy tucked carefully in her arm and out of reach. She approaches Sariel, a cute little smile crossing her lips. "May I have a sip?" She asks her voice warm and soft.
She casts an eye in the reporters direction only half listening to his tirade. "And believe me Charles, that which I do is for the good of the guild. I have no hunger for power, only the hunger to improve and make this a wonderful place for all."
