After walking around for maybe ten more minutes, Elliah saw that it was getting pretty late. Most of the stalls were closing up and there weren't very many nightmares around anymore. It was high time to head back up to the dorms. She couldn't wait to tell her roommate about all the fun things that she'd gotten to do. When she was a freshling, these festivals had been a fun way to score some treats and meet some new friends. This year, it was too bad she'd left for it so late. She had the feeling that if she'd have left earlier, she could have gotten plenty more goodies and maybe made a few new friends. Plus, at least one of her friends always managed to name a new pet during times like these.

Walking back through the various booths and stalls, Elliah was surprised to see one lone stall still open in the row. They looked to be handing out the last of the cute little paper ghosts. A brief smile touched her lips and she took another silly one to be friends with the first ghost she'd gotten. It seemed right to end the night with the same thing she'd gotten at the beginning.

This was it. The last house. Pepper gazed up at the bright yellow house with a determined stare. She was going to get a treat. It was going to be one of the best treats she got tonight! This was it. There wouldn't be any more chances to get something good after this one. Most of the other houses were dark, so she hoped that there was still something good to get. Taking a deep breath, the little demon reached into the bucket that had been left on the porch.

Only to pull out an adorable orange and black bracelet. Pepper's eyes widened and she oohed over it. It was pretty and sparkled and was big enough that she could wear it when she grew up too! What a nice treat to leave out for people. Pepper flashed the house a bright smile, calling out a thank you as she made her way back up the sidewalk. This had been a great festival, and Pepper was looking forward to exchanging candy and tales with other freshlings for the next few days. Plus, she had a new friend to play with in the form of the spectrefox at her side.

TWO. Two giant, king-size bars of scream chocolate were now his. Hikito could not believe his luck. The nightmare who had given him the first bar of chocolate had produced a second bar from their bag and given it to him once they saw how excited he had been for it. And then, to make things even better, one of their friends had come up and given him a nezubat plush. It was a small brown one and was almost the perfect size for his new friend to cuddle with.

With a grin, Hikito tucked his newest treats into his pail with the familiar, gushing a thanks to the two of them. He could probably trade a couple of the ucky stuff in his pail for something good from his roommates. If not he could always replace their candy with his when they weren't paying attention!

Speaking of not paying attention, the freshling was startled when something took a firm grip on his arm and started to lead him through the festival. Oh no. Oh no. One of the caretakers who knew he was grounded had saw him. He was in trouble now. They would probably never let him out again until he was like a senior or something. The freshling drooped, knowing that certainly that would be the fate that awaited him. The festival was done for him now, they'd never let him escape twice and would probably make him go right to bed. It had been fun while it lasted though. . and at least he had the candy bars and his new friend to prove it.

____Decran

Decran’s last stop of the night proved to be a good score. He held a small sugared skull candy of some sort in his hand as he moved away from the house. Glancing up from the treat, he blinked and stopped in his tracks. “What’re you doing? Did you follow me?” Decran placed the skull candy into his bucket as he glanced from the spectrefox, from earlier, and then looked around for a potential owner. Frowning, he fidgeted and looked back to the creature. Part of his brain told him to dump the rest of his popcorn and run like hell. Ceri wouldn’t like having a spectrefox in his dorm. However, another part of him wanted to gather the creature up and take him home. Sighing, he gave into the latter and soon found himself one more pet richer as he headed home from trick or treating.









____Syra

Syra huffed as the spectrefox came to a stop outside of a lit up house and dropped the candies down at her feet. Wrinkling her nose up, Syra bent to poke at the candies. “They’re gross now. Yuck.” Shaking her head, she left the candies and followed the creature up the pathway. Perhaps this was the thing’s home? When she was greeted by the man, she inquired about the spectrefox. With a negative answer, Syra frowned and glanced back. Perhaps it didn’t have an owner? She thanked the man when he handed her a sugared skull treat and placed it into her bucket. When she walked past the spectrefox, her shoulders sagged a bit and she glanced towards it. “Well, c’mon then. If you don’t belong to anyone I can’t just let you stay out here, hm?” The fox’s tail wagged and it was soon following after her as Syra moved off back towards her dorm.

Jestour tried to hide his enthusiasm as he discreetly rushed up to the door.
While he had thought himself too old for trick-or-treating, the idea of gathering some free candy got the better of him. It was a shame he had waited so long though, as the night's festivities were about to end. His candy hunt wasn't about to last much longer.
Finally making his way up the porch steps, he leaned forward to knock on the door...

"Trick or Treat!"

A small paper ghost is dropped into Jestour's candy bucket. He lifts it out to look at it, smiling at the simple little toy. It wasn't candy, but at least it was something. His sister was sure to get a kick out of it though.
