KB, marijuana has both positive and negative effects like half the s**t made legal on the market.
Fact remains its side-effects are just as mild as extremely legal products people buy every day, and its mood altering properties are way more predictable than alcohol which is literally "Alright, let's hope this f** doesn't become Raging ******** the Grand when he drinks."
It's plain fact. So add in states are already legalizing it and that it's plainly going to sell, it's naivety to think it won't happen at this point.
No nation wants to miss out on a gravy train. Meanwhile the masses will gladly bite the bullet of taxation if it means guaranteed minimums in quality and in safety of ownership.
I've also known plenty of real life examples of long-term usage of alcohol, of general smoking goods, of prescription meds, etc. Marijuana is plain low-end. Chewing tobacco's got more destructive properties, source being two people I know who ******** lost their jaws.
Ssssoooaaahggggggggggg unless you're trying to say all recreational drugs should be outlawed (and good ******** luck with that), it's a matter of your perceptions of what's acceptable being shaped by fluctuating legality and nothing more.

weed, depresses the heart beat, dulls the senses, slows the natural response to danger.
Long term exposure to weed could very well do all those things permanently. Further it stays in the system for upwards of thirty days and continues to have those affects on the body long after you stop smoking.

I would, but I know that you're just going to fire back with some study from some university dropout about how smoking marijuana increases your IQ.

I would say sure legalize it, after a long and thorough investigation by the FDA, but if you legalize weed, whats next, acid, peyote, how about heroine its all natural?

Further it stays in the system for upwards of thirty days and continues to have those affects on the body long after you stop smoking. I don't want to force anyone to do anything they don't want to do. Its about making a choice. I would never try to pressure anyone into trying marijuana because I respect there choice. However I ask the same for other people. Whether we are talking about alchohol or marijuana. However I have to say Nazereth, there are lots of athletes who are successful and smoke weed regularly. A lot of the guys I used to do jujitsu with would smoke before training. I think the MMA fighter Nick Diaz does this on a regular basis I think, but don't quote me on it. I agree, I think with heavy use extreme use, marijuana may have some effect in your advanced age. However just because I smoke regularly doesn't mean I walk around unaware of my surroundings with a slower than normal heart beat.

Colonel Iyam A Heita I got one thing to say about all this madness talk... I have never seen conversations this intriguing about Real World Politics versus Role-Playing Totalitarianism in the HoH. Take that how you feel Vin and Hael... You probably missed them in the past couple of years, although arguably there's less chances for them. It's easier to have those kinds of discussions when somebody is making such an erroneous decision that you can actually reference the political ideology of some guy who's been dead for 400 years to explain why said decision is a bad idea. Also, weed has negative side-effects. You're breathing in smoke. Smoke is a carcinogen. Carcinogens cause cancer. Weed isn't that dangerous in moderation, but pretending like it's A-OK is dumb because it clearly has negative side-effects related both to the method of consumption, as well as the substance itself.

Alcohol has both stronger short and long term issues, not to mention compounding many psychological illnesses.
It impairs your senses more, has RNG mood-swings on a very decent portion of people, and feeds into addictive personalities. The sheer number of retarded crimes that're egged on by alcoholic influence are staggering, while very few if any can be directly attributed to marijuana in itself; only linked by circumstance. (I.e. s**t happens and they smoke weed, not s**t happens because they smoke weed.)
Outlaw alcohol. lol
What? That'll never happen?
OH, wait, you're making the gateway drug argument. lol Because clearly legalizing weed, in the long term, will lead to legalizing anally raping horses (fun fact: that's actually legal in Washington if you don't own the animal, I wish I was lying.)
Keep in mind I both don't smoke, only drink occasionally, and take no drugs of any kind. It's still ... not unacceptable? Just illogical to not see why weed's going to become a legal mainstay.

Legion_of_Nazareth I would say sure legalize it, after a long and thorough investigation by the FDA, but if you legalize weed, whats next, acid, peyote, how about heroine its all natural? heroine is chemically addictive. It removes your ability to choose. So I wouldn't. Acid, I think is a lot more immediately dangerous than marijuana, so no. I dont' know anything about peyote.
