I'll watch for that with amusement. Malik treats you a lot differently than others..male, female or even child for that matter. He might even see it as Zahara trying to get into a position to backstab him. remember, Teir'Dal..drow...whatever name you use, trust nearly nothing.

Zahara's eyes sparkled at the thought of doing it herself. Oh how she watned to try this new method. It truly was a devious way to go about doing things and she found herself wiht new respect for Piper. The surface elf didn't need Zahara to rub off on her, quite the opposite in fact. Her fingers tapped restlessly against her boots as she contemplated things she could do. "Interesting, very interesting. Have you found this method to be very effective in your own dealings with men, Piper? You'll have to overlook all the questions but this is quite fascinating." She could see herself possibly doing it with Seivlin, convincing him that she would be a good student and then to take that rune off her head. She had already decided to try the 'just give up' idea Piper had mentioned to her in their talk earlier. This was just one more thing she could use to manipulate. Oh yes, devious little surface elf, she thougth with affection.

A light shrug. "I've found I can turn Malik to putty and when in said state he seems to have the inability to lie to me yet is completely cognazint to everything I'm saying." Then another shrug. "Don't have much experience with other men but from the little that I do...stroke a man's ego the right way and they tend to be a bit more manageable." A little chuckle then a look to Serino who brought back the arrow...and relayed what Nightmare thought on it. Another shot of an arrow for Serino to go after, and a glance to foals, making sure they were okay. "Oh now Ramoth we both know better than to set her against Malik. Mr. No PR Skills isn't something to play with. That's my territory." Back to Zahara. "Though you have to know when you're pushing too hard, push too hard and you make them suspicious of you. Subtlty is key. If all else fails, deal with them. You know us elves love our deals...or seduce them, whichever comes first and depending on how well you know the guy."

Din scratched at his head. "That doesn't sound like her....."
He shrugged. "What's to say that I don't have any family, but am really a great spy and devious master of trickery, making you think that I really am nineteen years old looking for family that I've never met and or barely heard of. In fact, maybe I come from your enemies, sneaking in to learn your defenses and gauge your thinking habits and way of life, all in a grand scheme to strike at you where you are most vulnerable." He laughed at himself. "But either way, it doesn't matter. I just know she's alive."

"Subtelty is key...okay got it. I dont' know if I can be subtle, I was never forced to before." As a Llothian priestess it was pretty much, 'say it loud, say it proud, and if no one listens beat them until they do' mentality. And that worked for them. But ti wouldn't work out here. "Seduce or deal, oh yes my little surface friend, you are truly very devious." She did have a funny image of Malik a blob of blue goo, falling all out of his chair and the sounds of 'yes Piper' echoing from the puddle on the floor. Then it got even better when Piper scooped up that blue goo and began molding and shaping it into the exact image she wanted. Oh yes, funny thoughts. "Knowing Sevilin he'd be susupicious of me anyway. By Lloth he'll be suspicious when it comes to me acting the weaker sex, he'll think it's some devious trick, irritating man."

She chuckled and shook her head lightly. "Well learn to be. Bite your tongue a comments, still your hand when it wants to hit, come off aloof or uncaring. I often shurg and that seems to interst them because I'm saying 'I know something, but I don't think you'll listen to me so I won't tell you' or you're saying 'I have something on my mind, but you wouldn't care now would you?'. The little things you do interest them." Though one of those blinks at her at the mention of Sevilin. What Malik said about Zahara's instincts still playing in the back of her mind about the subject of the rune mage. "Well of course he will. Suspicion often leads to curiosity though."

"You know I think I'm truly outdone. The Drow pride themselves on being deceitful and imaginiative and the whole time the surface elves have ben hiding their own deceitful natures in the most delicious ways. And the Drow think they've got it all figured out." Zahara laughed appreciatively and shook her head so her hair moved slightly. It was bothering her int he position it was currenty in. "I think I can do that. It's going to take some work and some reminding from myself but it should be interesting to see how MAlik and Sevilin react to it." She was beaming with her good fortune, a new idea that she had yet to try out. A way to keep those two men on their toes. Oh by Lloth this sounded positively decadent. "Curiosity, of course. I think I confuse him, except now he's convinced I'm a hypocrite. That's fine though, I'll change his mind."

Malik grinned lightly.
"First, the reason you are not that kind of a threat or woudl be, is because I've considered beheading you adn feeding you to the ogres at least twelve times already for that reason. second, the only reason you got through the defensive measures of my home is becuase I am a slave trader, and becuase I allow one humanoid guest with members of me staff or residents with them. if you tried to step foot within my defenses without Sevilin, you would not have made it to the front door."
A pause.
"Now, you have no idea how my mind works, you have no psionic ability, and you are only in the vaguest sense of the word guarding your own thoughts. My way of life is typical of the race, you learn nothing of value there. and last but not least, if you were of any kind of importance to anyone I owned I would have already known your name and how to find and kill you. You really don't think I let the families of slaves I take, when i take them, live to warn other people, do you?"
A smirk.
"But then again, that could all be just something I tell strangers to get them to be afriad and do something stupid for my own benifit. Noe you claim she's alive. but you don't know where she is. what her name is, how she's related to you, or even what she looks like, I'll wager. Odd sort of 'family life' there. sure you ain't a halfbreed drow?"

"Of course you confuse him...you confuse a lot of us. Heck you confused me when I first met you. You're not the typical Drow. Not that that's a bad thing seeing as I'm not the typical surface elf. And well...not to be mean but you did make yourself into a hypocrite. After all, me and Malik heard all that yelling between you too. Sevilin is positively convinced that you're just like all the other drow females. And I know this may be hard but try to imagine you're a Llothian male for a moment...think about the kind of life they lead. I don't know much other than what I've learned and what Malik's told me...but it doesn't seem like the best thing in the world. Self perceptions as well as that of eveyone around you is skewed. Ever action can be seen as potiential harm, and you know the consequences of those actions all too well. If you want to get on his good side...you have to understand him first, even just a little." There she went again, speaking in that manner that spoke of wisdom beyond her years.

he blinked a oment, then laughed. "Did you just take me seriously for a moment? Wow, that was good." he laughed good and hard,w hiping a tear from his eye. "I wouldn't have come here, mostly because I would never have foudn the place, without the drow here."
"I know she's alive, yeah that's pretty much it. But what she looks like? I might have a mini portrait on me here..." he started digging through his pockets.
"Halfbreed? No no, I'm a deformity."

Piper's words brought back memories and took her back to her old life. Screams reverberated in what had once been a quiet clearing, the lash of a whip as it screamed through the air finding tender skin to stripe and tear. Blades slicing, blood running, macabre dances of pain and grief that ended in one's pleasure and the other's humiliation and shame. Knees burned raw from being on the ground so much, necks hurting from drooping in the submissive positions. Laughter, cruel, pleasured, insane echoed around her. Shouted commands, swirling lights, suggestions rang and she shook her head. She was lost, lost in her thoughts, back in her homecity, watching the daily punishments of the males. Punishments were devised for the express purpose of causing the most pain and humliation. Sex was forced, never for the pleasure of both parties and never consensual. Fear was a stench, mixed with the blood in the air. Those creatures known as the spiders of the very Queen herself roamed the streets freely, were used to snap and bite at an unsubmissive man. And for the worst punishment of all, their very manhood was stripped away.
She pulled herself from her thoughts when her fists clenched and she rang out with a shouted, "No!" Flushing wiht embarassment she glanced at Piper and then at her hands, forcing them to unclench. "I know what you mean. If I were one of those men, I wouldn't trust a woman for as long as I lived. It didn't matter if she claimed she wasnt' like them or not, in my mind I"d always be waiting for her to turn on me. Every move she made that appeared to be kind would be seen as an attempt to create a diversion, to lull me into a false sense of security so I would be forced to make a mistake and then be duly punished." She shivered, her voice was flat and monotone almost as if she wasn't even truly there. Her eyes had that faraway look to them and she was soon staring straight ahead, unblinking.

A little start at her outburst but Piper only blinked at her a moment before dropping down to sit beside Zahara, placing a hand on the drow's shoulder comfortingly. "See...you already understand. That's probably what he sees, what he thinks about you...honestly that would be what I think if I were him and had known a life like the one I've been told of. Drow are such untrusting creatures....it's understandable they're so much so. But things change..."

The physical touch brought her back to the present and away from the haunting melody of her old life. Turning her head she looked at her and shook her head, "No wonder he was so upset when I hit him. I couldn't believe he reacted the way he did, but it makes sense now. If I were him I would fight anyone who tried to touch me too. And he's a lot older than me too, isn't he? I heard some of the slaves saying he was almost as old as Malik which means he's been living with that way of life a lot longer than I have." Another shake of her head, "How am I ever going to get him to relax around me now?"

"Well...Malik is five hundred. So you could say Sevilin's been living that life for almost five hundred years...seeing as he was so eager to agree to a deal with my father to get off the plan and thus out of Vrist, that's the Andal drow city, that must of been how things were for him." Though a sigh as she looked out into the water, watching Zephmares play in it as she thought on Zarhara's question. "That's a mind boggler...though he'll have to eventually tolerate you...Malik is going to force you two to work with each other...he's trying to get Sevilin to learn to work with those around us. You happen to be one of those people."
Sevilin was leaning against the wall, merely watching the conversation that was going on between Malik and Din. Not that it particularly interested him, he was more or less watching them both for movement and what not, looking to see if he could figure some things about how certain things were done. Malik for example had a certain fondness for his sword.
Though parts that did filter through were intereting and gained an eyebrow raise. Deformity? Well that was a powerful term to label oneself by.

"And I fully expect the sparks to fly once we get back together and he becomes my teacher. I still can't believe Malik is making me take lessons from him. That just annoys me to no end. But I'll get over it and play the good little girl as much as it will turn my stomach to do so." Another sigh and she leaned back resting on her elbows and straightening her legs out, relaxing a little bit more on the bank. Another glance at the Zephmares who were just having a jolly good time. Though the deal peaked her interest. "Sevilin asked for passage off the plane? Where does he intend to go?"
