He nervously shuffled the balls in his hands as his Cyndaquil and Nidoran F popped out. Is the way a young Acrobat kills his enemies...

"Hiya all!" I quip. "Since it seems like everyone's doing evolutions today, it's time for Phanpy and Lotad!"
Sending out the two pokemon Maddy had previously approved for evolution, I watch as they begin to glow. Before they get too bright, I remember to put on some shades.
When the process is done, Donphan and Lombre stand before me.

Lithe turn to see the Oran Berry and disregarded it, he was ready to evolve darn it, and his Onix friend outside was to! That Arekku has two Metal Coats and wouldn't give them up! Lithe darted to stand above Arekku. The trainer looked up to see his pokemon, "Oh! uh... Hi!" Scyther yelled at him and he replied as though he knew what the pokemon said, "I told you! Unless I have someone to trade with and approval for four trades, you can't evolve!!" Lithe's look turned from anger to sadness and the pokemon returned himself.

Arekku's hand went up right away, "I'll battle you!! If I win you have to be my trading partner for when I ask for approval on at least the first two trades." He had to somehow repay the boy for beating him in that contest battle. Then Brian's words registered, "Oh! Thanks Brian!" He looked around, "Anyone willing to help me out?"

"Aaaand all of the refs shrink back into their hiding holes." Artekku muttered and stepped out to return Dean, his Onix. He came back in and looked around as if expecting to see a ref that would actually help.
