The Female of the Species Man. Every time I see people like Sigil and Molestia post it makes me regret signing up for this stuff. You have rolled with the punches like a champ, don't let a whiny Hungarian stand in your way.

Nope, representative governments actually dilute the monopoly of control by way of elected officials and democratic methodology. Governments only have a monopoly on force, and even then it's limited when the governments utilizes citizen armies.
And kids are always going to ask questions. I remember dealing with that with my little sister who - still - questions everything I say or do. Luckily, being me, I have an answer for everything, so there's no problem.

I wish you luck with parenting if you think no one should accept authority without question, youll love your kids, they will share that opinion, and youll wih they didnt.
What it comes down to though is this, he is putting up the prize money, he should select judges he trusts to make a decision about where that money is going, he should not have a hand in that decision himself cause then its not a contest.
Your opinion about the judges, and the way they score generally is meaningless. Especially when three separate individuals agree on the issue and you dont.
Anonymity in comments and scoring is as close to anonymous as you can get without everyone assuming that the same person is posting three slightly different score cards.
Judges are meant to be impartial, if you cant elect them outright, they should be chosen cause each has a dramatically different outlook.
Honestly I havent questioned anything a judge has told me outright. I question Vin all the time, but thats personal history.
If you dont like a judges call you can choose not accept it and leave, if the judges all agree especially on the point then your screwed.
Honestly watching sigil and molestia continually pester the judges to manipulate the fight ha been sorta frustrating, as its not why I came here. But realistically its one way as a player to give your character an edge they might not have otherwise.

I'm still impressed by how fantastically overpowered Sigil's character is for GTB, and she still bitches about... everything.
I'd be happy enough with getting in my broken character without having to consistently be an irritation to pretty much everyone around me.

King Bug Seriously though. Having your authority questioned incessantly is... horrible. It's like, "waaah why can't I walk around in the middle of the road???" "Because---" "you don't know anything wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!" Then let 'em run in the street. Problem solved. We also need to start sterilizing stupid people because they're the ones having all the kids. Stupid kids that grow up into stupid adults that never question anything because their parents were lazy.

Tresondros Ecstuffuan I never really had an issue where I felt the need to question my mothers authority. I was a well behaved child in part because my mothers decisions in regards to raising me made perfect sense. However, not all parents are made equal. They are human and therefore can make mistakes. Not that every child has the mental capacity to bring these things into question. So I do understand your point KB. You are right. What Deitric said doesn't count for children. but when it comes to people who have mentally matured, late-teens to adults...I think Dei is right. You shouldn't blindly follow anything. The problem is that leaders and the government essentially have to deal with adult children, and masses that can barely think let alone think for themselves. There are enough ignorant/stupid people out there that the government needs to intervene to suppress them. That's why its taken so long for our civilizations to develop to this point, and why forward steps are marked by the application of force to dissenting populations or demographics. You'll get a rally of a thousand or ten thousand people going WAHHH WHY CAN'T WE SMOKE/HARVEST MARIJUANA???? and it takes a leader/adult to shut them down. Sometimes the answer "I said so" is because its a waste of time to explain it/the person wouldn't understand it.

Sigil Warden Because, you know, I totally make a habit of declaring myself utterly superior to everyone at every opportunity. It's very simple. You give me attitude, I give it right back. Otherwise, we're cool. Knowing about changes in the judge lineup is something that should be announced, not buried somewhere in the OOC thread. I'm not asking to be on the tribunal, just that changes be transparent, along the vein of what Deitric's been on about. Anything else is just for hyperbole or comedy. I make it clear when I'm being serious. Time to get back to failing kids.

Wait I want to clear something up, stupid does not equal lazy.
I am perfectly lazy, that said, I have a dramatically higher iq than most of the people in the world.
I lack wisdom and drive, not common sense, or intellectual ability.

Armies have generally always been composed of people from the country they come from, with exception of you know... an army invading you. Being able to answer a question isn't the issue. The issue is respect for authority and the fact that answering questions takes too much time. When s**t hits the fan and you tell a kid to do something you need them to do it without stopping to ask why. That's precious time that can cause a million problems.

I lack wisdom and drive, not common sense, or intellectual ability. Semantics. My point is, way too many people havin' kids before they can support themselves, much less a family, and before they have finished maturing and growing up. Most of the time it's probably because they don't know how to condom. Then people want the easy answers. Religion, political parties, socioeconomic groups... all too easy to attach yourself to one and let them do most of the thinking for you. Case in point that we see enough of: "If Fox News reports on it, it must be true. They're fair and balanced. They even say so!"

There isn't, as far as I know (and feel free to enlighten me), reason for us not to be able to harvest and smoke marijuana.
