((-laughs- yey!! I'm glad you liked it. -nods- And yes, you're perfectly correct. Though Aleron was sort of...in the moment. lol. If someone were to mention it, that part would likely become much more shaky then he presented it as.))
Aleron nodded. "Thank you, captain. Now, all in all, it's simple." he said as a list formed from the holographic device. "First, we are all likely infected. As long as we don't come into contact with whatever the catalyst substance is, we should remain ourselves, though mind you this is only a hypothesis. So, on that, as long as we're on the ship, we're safe. In these conditions, there's no way the infection can advance. So if someone's going to turn, it's going to be out there, not in here. And now, my requests...
1, Don't touch anything with-out protection. 2, anything from outside comes directly to me. 3, if it moves and does not speak, kill it dead. 4, I need brain-matter. In other words, try and find ways to kill these things with OUT decimating the corpse. I can't study mush. 5, I understand that things aren't great right now, but order is key. Even I know I've lost my cool. If we want to survive, we need to stay cool and neutral, no matter what the concerns toward one another are. I'm going to sound like an elementary teacher, but it needs to be said; teamwork is everything." he finished, looking to the group. "Now, Questions, Comments, and Concerns."

Mio would immediately straighten up and say, "With respect, Lieutenant, structures at the quantum level are rather set, those don't change without the form of matter or energy thereby being changed that those patterns express. There's also the fact that observing anything at the quantum level involves uncertainty."
He taps out something on his wrist data-com, sending out a holographic projection of the main hatch/airlock of the Walkurst. "Anyway, it's rather silly and inefficient to require anything from outside being brought to you, so why don't I just set up a scanner/cleanser system in the airlock? Hell, I can wire it to the inner door to cause it to lock should something infected present itself."
With another few taps on the little holographic board for the data-com, he brings up several computer-generated views of the goop-infested hallways and filters in the station, "Now, I might have a hypothesis, going off the information you provided, what that catalyst might be, Aleron. The sensors showed DNA signatures from multiple species, as well as an unknown one, in the goop out there. You said the Shriek and the Grabber were dead yet animates, so my hypothesis is this: the pathogen affects only dead tissue." He points at the view of a particularly gunked-up filter, "See how much of it is here? Those filters trap dead skin cells and hair, I thought whatever it was might be feeding on such things, but now it seems more likely it's using that stuff to actually make the goop. And, without the proper protocols, dead skin cells and fallen hairs would be everywhere on the station."
Sonja would look at Miya, then asks, "What happened to that spar I was impaled on...?" That was something she couldn't forget.
Aurora looks like her head hurts now. "I can agree with nobody going out without being suited up, and Mio putting up sensors in the airlock to keep a bottleneck from occurring if you aren't available, Aleron. However, I think you should amend that third point to anything that can't communicate, since there are were Sigmoids on the station's crew roster, and they communicate telepathically. Also, priority number one i to keep everyone alive, so there's no guarantees about getting you intact brains." She gets a vaguely disgusted look at that. "Anyway, yes, teamwork is vital, which is why I want to stress once again that nobody is to leave the ship alone. Understood?"

Miya listened silently to the debrief, eyes unfocusing at the technical babble but refocusing at the simplified version. She nodded, understanding the basics.
Hearing Sonja, the silver-haired half-elf turned to look at her. "Well...with a bit of help from that woman over there," she said, indicating Miya with a quick point of her thumb, "we removed it. If the spot where it was feels off...don't worry too much about it. It might take a while to fully heal, but what's left of the wound should eventually go back to normal." Yes, she was being vague. Then again, it probably wouldn't be a good idea at the moment to tell the survivor that she had a hole in her torso where the spar had been.

Gin had shaken her head alittle bit at the offer to leave this and get rest. She wanted to learn more, hopefully he had come up with some way of .. defeating this. Unfortuanly after all the babbling had happened, he haden't. And he was sounding more and more like the scientest from befroe. Except they had wanted them captured alive so they could study, at least he understood they should be dead.
She paused and lifted her head slightly thinking. Something made sence, something she haden't thought of befroe he began to speak and talk about catilist. She realized it suddenly.
"The lab area.. " she said suddnly as it clicked in her mind. she'd never been there, she didn't even have clearence to get into there.
"Here, on the ship, all the miners, all the scentsts and most of the military went to the lab! I've never been there, I don't even have clearence to go into it since I was just to be support for the main doctors here. I was to just take over with over flow" she said to them as she thought about it.
"That could be.. where the catalist is" she said to them uncertinally. There certinally were enough chemicals she was sure. All labs had chemicals and certinally more so since they had been looking for things on the planet. Being told she was infected was a vaguly suprising thing but she supposed it made sence. She frowned slightly as she titled her head.
"I know a few areas that are free of the infection. Cryo is one, the place I've been holed up is another, it's easy to see the infection." she said to them as she rubbed her eyes tiredly trying to think up something else that would help them. But she was coming up blank. That was all she had to offer at the moment

Misha thought a moment, "The coils on the rivet gun would ahve kept it steril since I had that cranked pretty high on heat most of the time but I can bring it in for a check up but I will be the one taking it apart since I am qualified to operate and maitence it for all types of work and in most conditions." She wanted to make sure none screwed her rivet gun over and also wanted to make sure it was still useable after the fact. She knew Mio might be able to take it apart and put it back together, but the cooling system amy give him a problem but she had no idea of Aleron's skill with such machinery since he was more of a lab junkie than a tech kid. She wanted t modify it any how to take the rivet limter off to fire faster since the second intervals may get someone killed...

"So let me get this straight. Lieutenant, you believe that we already carry the infection by breathing it in the air in the station? But there is still another element in the form of some chemical that needs to be added?" she asks, trying to clarify whatever the hell it was the two had just said. "And Mio, you're suggesting that the catylist is...death? These things have to kill you to turn you?"
(I do have to point out that Aurora had ordered everyone into environmental gear to prevent them from catching anything that might be present in the air. She was essentially treating it like a biohazard zone. But I guess we can let that slide. )

(( That would mean Boda Misha Gin Sonja and Aleron would have been exposed Boda and Gin and Sonja is obvious Aleron would be from taking his heltmet/mask off after being attacked and Misha from having her visor open to be able to see beter in low light... me thinks ))

Misha raises an eyebrow, "In all actuality it would be Myself, Aleron, Gin, Sonja and Boda that were exposed unless you count any of that junk on board the ship..." Misha would inject that thought since she figure the Captain might not be thinking straight with an apparent headache. She would stand slowly, "But if death is all they need, then if we feel like dieing then go out with a big bang and take as many of them with you as possible right?" trying to make small light of the s**t storm that they have walked into...

((Sorry about vanishing. I really wasn't feeling well last night, and still kinda feel like s**t, but...I can't just vanish.))
Aleron took all comments, then replied. "Mio, you're right. It's only a shaky theory with the quantum, but it's the only even minor resemblance. As for the doors, that would be perfect. It should work unless someone basically falls into goo or a creature blows up all over them." he said, nodding again. "Misha, rivet gun, you're likely right. As for helping, I've no problem with that. Honestly my process will only take a few minutes, and the rest is yours for taking it apart and such. Thank you for the cooperation." he said, smiling to her a bit.
"Now, for those of you saying about the infection...Misha, you're likely right, but until we know for sure we should assume the worst. As for going out with a bang, unless you utterly decimate your body in the process, and are able to do so without any possibility of error, I would advise against it. Honestly, seeing your body infected would scare me far more then that thing that wanted my face, considering you have armor, and we aren't sure how the infection affects races other then human." he replied. Looking the the captain, he nodded. "All in all, yes Captain. But as for it being death...I think that's only part of it. I think death is very well what causes the final stages of it's progression, but there must be something in between. Something that needs to speed up the death and prep the host for mutation. If we figure that out, we'll be drastically closer to a cure." he said.
Then, he turned to Gin. "There's a lab? That...very well could play an extremely significant role in all this..! It could contain an isolated form of the pathogen, far more data on it's progression, digression, forms of mutation...it may even have the cure already manufactured, if not at least contain the data to make it..!! Captain, I advise we find a way to first secure a path to the lab, and launch a breech to that location. If I can get in that lab, I'm sure I can find something to help or...at least how it all started. Something useful..." he said, turning to her. It was a lab, after all. There's ALWAYS something in the lab.

((S'alright))
"The lab might have answers we need," Mio agres, "Though I was already going to propose a trip down into the station anyway. None of the ships left on the hangar deck have a Kolvanski quantum converter that will fit the Walkurst's engines, and without that, this ship won't be going very far since it's crucial component of the star drive. It also makes fuel expenditure for basic impulse flight more efficient. I'm hoping that the Maintenance area would have one of the right size, otherwise I'm going to have to kludge a replacement out of the ones from the ships out on the deck, and that will take more time."
Sonja looks up at Miya, then tries to follow who she pointed at, then rests her head down. "Oh, okay..." she says, sounding more out of it again and passing out.
"Anyway, I'm going to go get started on dealing with getting the airlock modified," the Cathan continues, standing up and finishing off his coffee. They would all feel a rumble underneath them, followed by multiple metallic booms. Mio's fingers would fly over the board of his data-com, using it's synch with the ship to determine what the hell the noise was.
"Oh, wonderful..." he mutters, "The hangar doors just shut. All of them."

Gin twiched slightly. That .. man.. drove.. her crazy. Didn't she just say that it was likely where the catalist was and now he was all hyped up to go to it!?!? She groaned quietly effing stupid people, seriously WHY did they have to be the ones to rescue her again?
Gin jumped at the sound of booms, her heart racing rapidly in her chest.
"What?!?!" she asked startled. Closed? Why would they have closed? There shoudln't be any reason for them to have shut. Cource there wasn't any particular reason for them to be open anymore either. She swollowed hard. Well.. ********..
