Devana stood up straight and cracked her neck. "You see, that's not an option." Walls of strong light energy erupted from the ground around Raine, making a hexagon. Then a roof was formed so she couldn't get out and Raine was trapped in this light energy cage. One thing was for sure, Devana wasn't as strong as Mari, but she was at least five times stronger than this girl. "Your mother ruined my life... And with you in my grasp, I can ruin hers easily. If she almost lost her life to save a child that wasn't hers, she'll surely give her life to save her own child." She grinned maliciously and it seemed that she didn't have any sanity left. It was frightening. The walls of the cage she had her in started to close in and trap her tightly. Not crushing her, but holding her still.

She made the energy walls form into bonds and tie her from her upper arms to her legs so she had no chance of escaping. Devana then went over and grabbed the child by the back of her jacket and picked her up, taking her sword. She then shook her a bit and grinned. "You look like that stupid human. I knew your mother had low standards, but I never knew they were that low."

By this time Mari and Matt had returned to the house and she shouted for the kids. "Garreth, Raine, Cyan! We're home!" Garreth and Cyan came down the steps and Mari was wondering where Raine was. "Where's your sister?" Cyan shrugged and Garreth looked up at her. "She grabbed her sword and went out. You didn't see her outside?"

Devana gave an evil little laugh and looked at her. "Such a dirty mouth for a small girl. I guess your parents didn't raise you that well." Her head then shot up as she sensed them coming and she grinned. She unsheathed the sword and put her back against the tree. She knew how Mari could plane shift and how Smash could teleport, so she wasn't going to leave her back open. She placed the sword against the girl's neck and had a grin while waiting for them to show up.

Mari seemed shocked and ended up running faster and ahead of him. Her eyes were a silver color and she seemed to have more energy than what Matt did at this point. It was true that a mother's strength increased when her child was in danger. They got to the spot where Devana was and Mari seen her. She was about to rip the b***h's throat out, but the sight made her freeze. Devana held the sword towards her daughter's neck and had a grin along her face. "Mari! So nice of you to join us! Will the husband be joining us tonight?" The blade was pressed tightly against the child's neck and one wrong move would have it slice across her jugular.

Devana let out a laugh at his words and grinned madly. "You're not in the position to be making orders, human." Mari was glaring at her and tears were running down her face. "You're a coward!" Devana broke her off and spoke up. "I know! I know it all! I'm a coward, but I do what needs to be done to win in the end! You ruined my life! I could have been a queen by now!" Mari shook her head and glared. "You did it to yourself, you b***h!" The woman laughed and grinned wider. "No! It would have worked if you weren't around and sticking your nose into everything!"

Devana just let out a laugh. "You're still as stupid as ever! You would think that all these years would make you smarter, but that didn't happen! All I need to do is ruin that woman's life and the key is in my hands! She took away my life and I can take away hers in one quick second! A mother's life is her children... Isn't that right, Mari?" She leaned her head down and kissed the top of Raine's head to provoke Mari's anger even more. Mari's eyes were getting whiter, but she wasn't turning to her beserker form. If she did, then she would act on first instinct and Raine would surely die. Mari dropped to her knees and put her head down on the ground. Her voice was shaking. "What do you want..?"

Devana had a energy pillar appear from the ground under Mari and hit her in the stomach hard enough to send her into the air and back down to the ground, landing on her back. Mari let out a painful scream and Devana laughed madly. She then continued to have energy forms come from the ground and throw her about. Some were even spikes.
