Hi. My name is Blue but I perfare Bluie. whee
I never have been christen, I was rasied as a christen thou. I have always wanted to learn about many different reilgions but the school I went to had a basic class for learning it. So I have been looking up the net trying my best to understand each of them. I actual belive in a very old belief, I actual found out this after I had had it as my belief. It's a chinesse befief of ledgenary dragons of the elements, which appears to be only four of. Water, fire, earth and air but my belief expands on it and see these as the life elements. And the other would be death elements, consisting of lightening, lava, rocks and ice.
Sorry if it doesn't make much sense, I have never been able to fully explain it to people except one but I actual used a story to explain fully. I'll stop now, as I rather had it fully written down. So it would be easier to explain to you all.

Hello there everyone. My name is Andy. I'm also known as Mancoon. blaugh I aquired my name via... well, I'll just say sunglasses and sunburn don't mix well when you sit in the sun for 8+ hours stare .
A little about my spiritual side. I enjoy studying religion (In a world religions class with GameAngel64. Hi honey! *waves*) and learning more and more everyday. Not just religion, but the supernatural (even though it scares me to jebebus... if thats even a word) and even the more simple things in life, like myth and legend, fantasy and sci-fi. I believe that everyone here is connected somehow. A soul link if you will. I believe their are teachers here with us everyday. And not just human. Animals too. "Spirit guides" if you will. And not just in the physical(?) realm either.
This is my spiritual Xanga journal:
www.xanga.com/Silent_Black_Tiger
It will be a pleasure to work/learn/teach/play/speak to/with all of you.
Blessings to you friends. biggrin

Well I do! Welcome, Sniper! If you want to tell us a bit more about yourself, that'd be awesome, but if you don't, that's fine too. Though just about guaranteed, it'll wind up slipping out lol.
Well, you've probably gone over the rules already (which are made relatively straightforward by the name of the guild alone), so, I'll just leave it at that, shall I?
woot!

Hello. My name is Lin, and first I would like to say how pleased I am to have found a religious guild/forum that truly emphasizes tolerance.
Now, a little about me. I began my Roman Catholic education when I was in third grade, roughly nine years old. I received my sacraments like an obedient child, never questioning my upbringing. I thought that being Catholic was what I truly wanted, and it made my Grandmother happy.
This, however, did not prevent me from learning about other religions. I had two very good friends in high school whose beliefs were quite different from my own. One was of the Later Day Saints and the other was Jewish, though just how orthodox I am still not certain. I enjoyed discussing with them the differences between our beliefs. Religion and mythology have always facinated me.
It was not until I began my higher education at a Jesuit Catholic college that I began to rethink my 'choice' to be confirmed Catholic. I saw a wonderful person harrassed simply because he happened to be homosexual. Granted, there is no guarentee that the students who were harrassing him were, in fact, Catholic, but the majority of students here are, so it is likely.
For other reasons, including my own personal difficulties with patriarchal heirarchies and the realization that I am homosexual, I have decided that I can no longer, in good conscience, practice Catholicism. I do not yet know what I am. I would not really call myself atheistic. I am simply religiously undecided.

Good to have you, Lin! It's a shame about that poor man/woman who was being harassed - that's not fair. I personally have suffered a lot of that (I'm bi), and I applaud you for acknowledging and accepting it in yourself. It can be a hard thing to do, I know. I wish you the best of luck in your religious learning; it's a fascinating subject to study.
So welcome to the RTG.

I was raised a Latter Day Saint. But recently I found myself... disillusioned with the fact that Christianity taught and the typical follower were far apart... I kind sat and reworked my beliefs. I have always been more of a two as one believer, that the male and female should be equal. Not that that shows up too often in this life... Anyway... I'm currently claiming neopaganism, but really I'm a mix of beliefs... anything to make me a better person.

::huggles everyone:: I love religion, and might even minor in it in college. Hearing the variety here is wonderful!!! Granted...there could be more, but there are variations amoung people of the same religion. Its great that there is a guild like this, and though I haven't looked at all the topics yet, the titles sounded intruiging!! Okay, enough raving..
I am a Roman Catholic, and I have been confirmed. I believe that this is my religion, and it will always be. I know that that is my religion largely because I heard of wicca and got a book on it a few years ago. I loved it, and wanted very much to convert. However, it just did not mesh with my beliefs, and I learned that though what we do and think can change our beliefs, simply wanting them to change does not work. So, I guess I am where I am and won't be moving. Less to worry about that way. -_~. I still love other religions, and about those who said they were Christian and wiccan, don't take what I said personally, please. I couldn't follow both religions, but that doesn't mean I think you guys can't . I am a very liberal Roman Catholic (come on, my priest is gay! And we have a non violence group that only gets aggressively heated when talking about Bush. Sorry, prongs. Nothing against Bush here, but just trying to show how liberal my church is. If you think I'm a bad Catholic because of it....I'm sorry if you think that way.. (of course, being in this guild, I hope you don't. If you do, its okay. ^_^)But I won't change.) I love my church, even though I don't always agree with it. My best friend is a very pre-vatican two Catholic, and once admitted in that she believed I was going to Hell because of my beliefs. That was okay, and I was glad that she felt open to share that with me. Of course, when I mentioned it a few years later as an example of how open with each other we were, she said she wasn't so sure of that. We disagree on a lot, but I like it because it keeps me open to knowing that there are different sides to every issue. On the same line, I love discussing religon with two baptists and a methodist at my school, though I disagree with almost everything. I love my church because you can be so different and still be united under the same umbrella (kinda like paganism actually), and I won't switch religions because I disagree with some things. Why? During a sermon the priest read about a man who talked about why he didn't start a new religion. He said that it was because it would have the same faults he and all of mankind had, and it would therefore be no better than the one he had left. I believe in reforming my church, not leaving it.
If anyone disagrees with me, and I think there are probably several in here, please understand that I believe this FOR MYSELF. I didn't join this guild to inflict my beliefs on anyone else, or even to believe that I am right. I believe what I believe because I believe it. Simply put, its right for me.
Sorry for all of the rambling etc.
