Gan Ning watched Guan Yu leave for medications and Cai go with him, he saw that a soldier was clutching something to his chest as he inched closer to Ning himself. The soldier outstretched his arms and presented some trinket, molded into a necklace that shimmered of a jade sheen. Gan Ning knew this would be a nice gift for Cai, to show his allegience to Shu perhaps. He watched the stairs, watching a Xing Cai came back up the stairs, he observed her beauty, even if she had just been in battle she still looked beautiful. "Don'tcha worry about that Cai, I'll be here, this is where I belong for sure. My old pals, and of course new friends, like you. I couldn't leave this place, Shu has the supreme plan in this world. Peace will reign supreme, and I'd love to see Liu Bei be the Ruler of China. I'd like to make it so, yes, war is unfortunate, but I thrive in it. I don't really know what will happen when peace will reign, I'd probably get married and live happy ever-after or sumthin'. That's what we all will hope for. Peace." Gan Ning looked into the distance with her, admiring the beauty of the evening moon and the gentle breeze coming from the ocean only a couple miles out. "So is Guan Yu okay, Cai?"

The doctors worked around Guan Yu's hair and cleaned up his ear quite nicely. He could still hear rather well out of the ear, but there was a large part missing from the upper part of the ear. It was not only ripped off from the gun that Date had, but it was also burned slightly, so the wound only blead from a few small spots. Soon enough he was fixed up and ready to get going. He turned to the doctors and said, "Thank you. If all I have to give is this part of my ear then I will gladly pay that price for Brother's dream to come to pass." The doctors nodded to the God of War and he set off to be with Ning and Cai again. He climbed up the stairs again and smiled at the two warriors. He had just heard the last part of their conversation and said, "I am fine... it was just a small price to pay for a large amount of information on the enemy. That small warrior has a lot of potential and could come back to haunt us some day, but I wanted to let him go to show that we are not only powerful, but compassionate people here in Shu, and that we can forgive such a random attack if it will not occur in the future. It is a shame that these invaders had to come and add to an already chaotic world. It is a good thing we have people like the two of you to help keep things in order. I am glad that you will stay here with us, Ning." He paused for a moment and then said, "So, how about we celebrate this victory with a few drinks?"

"I think that Ning promised father that he'd have a drink with him." Cai told her uncle with one of his small smiles. She was happy to see that her uncle was alright. If anything too serious had happened she would have felt absolutely terrible. Even though her uncle hadn't seemed too bad, she didn't know if whatever was inside of those bizarre weapons also had poison. "Heading back home to drink and rest might be the best idea so my father wouldn't get jealous of you Uncle Yu." Xing Cai let out a small giggle at her last words before she looked over where Ning had previously been looking, at the sky that was half covered in stars while the other side was a sharp shade of red, burning like a raging fire. It looked like how China did. It was broken into pieces, and every piece was fighting against the other.
'The sky is beautiful.' Cai thought to herself quietly before she closed her ears as a soft wind pushed past her. Everything felt good now. She was comforted by the sound of her uncle's voice, even Ning's, and the feeling of the air around her. She would take in this moment of peace as much as she could. The wind moved past her ears, making a hollow whistle that only she could hear. It was as if it was singing to her. Cai had to wonder how many people took a moment to look around and take a few seconds to take notice of the gifts that the gods had given them.
Cai's eyes opened, and now her face was smooth and calm again. There wasn't a smile or a frown on her lips, and her eyes remained serene. Cai missed Guan Ping. But she would seen him again. All that she would have to do was wait.

Gan Ning turned at the sound of heavy footsteps, he knew it was his ol' pal Guan Yu instantly. "Glad to see you okay, man. I saw our pal Zhang Fei back at the city, gotta catch up on ol' times together sometime for sure. That little midget didn't look all too dangerous to me, he even tried to kill you with a shooting thing, no honor in that. Exactly, maybe he'll have a change of heart with us after your kindness. Happy to be here, Xing Cai has been really kind to me so far, I just know that Shu is the place for me." Ning turned back around, staring at where Cai was in the night sky. He admired it with her, but couldn't help but notice that Cai seemed a bit forlorn over something. He wouldn't press the issue, it would be rude to do as such. "So, are we leaving now?" Ning broke the silence a little.

Guan Yu smiled at Ning and Cai and nodded to both of their remarks. "Well if you have to be going I understand, however I cannot follow you for we don't know when the enemy might attack again and it is crucial that we keep Xia Pi." Yu turned around and stroked his long beard. He was so proud of Cai and glad to know that Gan Ning was going to be helping Shu's cause.

After her uncle finished speaking Cai opened her eyes again and looked over at him. "You should go back, uncle." She stated as she turned herself and took a step towards him. "I can stay here in your place. You, father and Ning should all be able to catch up together. And besides, you can't forget about Lu Bu. What happens if he really does go over to where father and Uncle Bei are and starts to act with violence? Even if I am stronger than I was before, I don't think that I would possibly have a chance against him. I would just get in everyone else's way. I think that everyone would agree that it would be better for you to go and have me stay. If anything troublesome happens I'll ask for help immediately. You won't have to worry about me Uncle Yu."
Xing Cai gave her uncle a smile before walking off, this way he wouldn't be able to try and change her mind. She moved down the stairs and walked outside where she started to check the damage the walls, taking notes inside of her mind about what needed to be fixed. She would also need to send for supplies and request for whatever men could be available so the forces here could be replenished. Those invaders had delt a serious blow to their numbers.

Yu smiled at his young niece. "You have grown strong, Cai. I will trust Xia Pi to you, but only for a short while. Your father will have a fit if you are left alone for too long. I will stay in Xiao Pei until I get word from you or until Lu Bu leaves. It will be nice to drink with Fei and Ning for once, perhaps this time Bei will join us also." Guan Yu gave a happy sigh and walked over to Gan Ning. "So, what do you say? Shall we head off to Xia Pi?"

"Just a sec, Guan Yu. I have to give Cai something, then we'll be off." Gan Ning rushed down the stairs after Cai, and noticed her taking notes on the walls, and stuff like that. "Hey Cai, I wanted to give you something, I thought you might want it. I found it after the battle, and it's a way you can remember me when we're not together. Just to give you strength because you know even if I'm not there at the moment, I'll still be there in spirit." Gan Ning outstretched his hands and presented Cai the jade green necklace he had found. "Hope yah like it."

Cai turned her head when she heard Ning's voice, and smiled when he approached. She listened to what he said, then looked down at the gift that had been presented to her. Her eyes grew a bit wider and she reached out and gingerly picked up the necklace. She held it up and looked at it while running a finger against the side of it. Xing Cai removed her eyes from it and then looked over at Gan Ning, smiling widely and also lightly blushing.
"Thank you very much, it's beautiful Ning." Cai told him before she placed it around her neck. Once that was done she gave him a deep bow of thanks. "I don't get many gifts like this often, so it means a lot to me." Cai straitened her back, one hand going up and laying itself on the jade necklace. "I'll be sure to wear it. You should probably get going now. I know that my father is going to be very nervous over me."
Cai would have to find some way to pay Gan Ning back. She wasn't quite sure how, but she would. The necklace really was very pretty, and from what Cai had seen when she'd held it up it matched perfectly with the golden leaf brooch she wore around her neck. Once she was able to go back home she would be sure to show father. Hopefully he would like it, but who knew. He might even get a little jealous, knowing him. She was after all "Daddy's little girl".

"I'm so happy you like it, just remember all I said about it. But Cai, you don't have to bow to me, don't do it any more. We can be casual, I hate being formal all the time." Ning knew she liekd it alot, because she had blushed and bowed deeply. "I'm sure I can get you some more gifts on our travels, dontcha worry about that." he winked in his pirate way. "See yah later, Cai." Ning turned around and rushed back up where he had left him waiting. "Sorry to keep yah, Guan Yu. Whaddya say we get going, big guy?" he playfully slugged Yu's shoulder.

Guan Yu watched the event between Ning and Cai unfold and smiled as it did so. Yu had hoped that Cai would find some friends, if not something more than that, and Ning looked as though he could fill at least part of that hope. "Right, let's get going." Guan Yu waved to Xing Cai before exiting the castle gate and mounting the horse that he had ridden out there to meet Date. He waited there for Ning to lead the way to Xiao Pei.

"Well, whaddya we waiting for then! See-yah Xing Cai!" he waved and blew her a fake kiss, just for a little bit of fun. He ran behind the mighty form of Guan Yu, and mounted one of the horses he and Cai they had brought here. "Lets go then!" Ning spurred his horse along the dusty road, looking back at Guan Yu keeping pace right behind him.

Musashi wandered toward Xia Pi and as he got closer he noticed that it seemed as though a battle had taken place here not too long ago. He quickened his pace and noticed that the banners that lay on the ground near the dead samurai read "Date." "Date, huh? What was he doing attacking so soon? I know that Oda didn't come this far south..." He continued forward and looked at the masses of dead samurai, many of which had been dismembered to extreme detail. It must have taken a hell of a strong man and a sharp weapon to do this much damage... he thought, There are no soldiers out here that are not Japanese so someone of great strength must have done this. I would like to see what kind of weapon he wields.
He continued toward the city and approached the gate. "Shu..." He said as he read the banners on the walls of the city. They were a green tapestry, elegantly painted with the character. He came to the gate and suddenly a guard shot an arrow at him. He quickly turned his left shoulder back and caught the arrow with his right hand. He looked up with fierce eyes and said, "I'm no enemy... I wish to enter." He said in broken Chinese. He placed his hand on the hilt of his wakizashi in case the guard decided to shoot another arrow.
The guard marveled in the fact that he was quick enough to catch the arrow. He heard what Musashi had to say and with a little difficulty understanding the accent he understood that he was not an enemy. He put his bow down and ran away from view. The guard quickly located Xing Cai and began to shout, "Lady Cai! Lady Cai! There is a man outside the gates! He looks like a foreigner but he spoke our language and said he isn't an enemy. It could be a trap, Lady Cai. He had a large bag on his back. It could be one of those new weapons! What should we do?"
