Riyak Silver

Monsters don't sleep under the bed...
They sleep inside your head
User Image

As Riyak walked through the spires he looked up at the clouds, and began to wonder about the whole tournament situation, he had been given a bracelet to warp back when he was called, but that was the least of his problems as the tournament itself proved to have some sort of gem Riyak didn't know about, it was many times worse than gold, Riyak remembered it seemed to clasp around his mind like a steel trap as soon as he got near it, such a substance Riyak had to learn what it was, unfortunately he doubted they would just hand it over to him, however thats when an idea crossed his mind, the prize for victory in the tournament was fairly substantial, if he were to win Riyak figured he could probably use the victory to his advantage and perhaps figure out what type of gem was used on him, that and figure out how much they knew about lycanoids. However this plan had a fairly fatal flaw, Riyak had every chance to be forced to go up against Lyndis or Fanthrall. Riyak didn't want to fight either, against Fanthrall, he had every chance of killing the man on accident especially if he lost it mid battle, Lyndis however, Lyndis was a different story. Riyak figured Lyndis and him if they both went full bore, could level the city, with such a high chance of collateral damage Riyak hoped that Lyndis would be taken out in earlier rounds, and for his safety he hoped Fanthrall would lose early on as well.

As Riyak walked along he noticed a small group walking nearby, he wondered if perhaps they were heading to the city as well, there were several ways to go about getting back there, though with his old power returning, his stride was much further than what it had been once, he figured that if he put enough of his aura into it he could be back in the city in no more than a few minutes. Out of curiosity Riyak walked down towards the group waving one arm as he did "hello down there!" Riyak shouted as he walked down a small hill to the group, though he didn't walk right to them, he didn't know if any of them were carrying gold yet, and all he needed was another situation like the last time he was here, except this time it would be much worse as he was many times stronger than he was before. As he reached his spot roughly thirty feet from them, his gaze fell on the one that seemed part animal, an oddity, Riyak had never seen such a creature before, though he removed his gaze from the creature before he got called out for staring. "I assume your all heading for the city?" Riyak asked, it was a simple question really, no one really thrived out in the spires, it was pretty desolate, so unless this group were a small band of thieves, which Riyak hoped wasn't the case, the only destination had to be the city. "Sorry I failed to introduce myself, my name is Riyak, who are you three?" Riyak asked

「 Leorio Auburn
If you got food and a warm heart, you can't be all that bad

/|\--/|\--/|\--/|\--/|\--/|\--/|\--/|\--/|\

It was kind of cute that a big half-orc couldn't leave a little cat behind, "Scamp. Sounds appropriate. Cats have a habit of sticking near things they think will aid their survival." He would know, his own instincts told him similar. Looking over at Tarak he gave a smile, "Guess that's you." His eyes were teasing, saying "you like having her around though, don't you". Leo was glad Tarak also thought about some of the deeper things in life, mostly because it meant he wasn't the only one. "Makes you wonder how something like this started. Can't imagine anyone being keen to help start up a nation in a literal waste." It was nice to finally be able to talk to someone. His 'guide' hadn't been very sociable, not much of a surprise, but Leo was glad he wouldn't have to put up with the silence any longer. Then a strange sensation ran down Leos spine, not one of fear but rather his animal instincts telling him to be prepared for the worst, "Something.. odd's near."

After some time of walking he heard something from above. No, that wasn't quite right, he 'felt' it first, a strange mix of of anger and sorrow, "Calm yourself Leo." Turning to see where the voice came from he saw a young.. Man? A small, almost unnoticeable sigh escaped his lips, "Perfect.." As the man started to question their intent he stopped himself to address his manners, "Hmm, That's new. A pointless question though." From his experience humans had a habit of assuming the worst from Chimeras, especially carnivores. Leo turned his head to look at Tarak, trying to give a minor sign that he should be cautious, not that he wouldn't automatically but this felt like it could be a land mind. "My name's Leorio, a pleasure to meet you." He left space for Tarak to introduce himself, hoping he'd also introduce Scamp as the third in their party. Before he had a chance to answer Riyaks rhetorical question the bandit woke upon hearing the sound of a new person, "s**t, not now." It took almost no time for him to start trying to shake himself from Leos shoulder again, "Help me! They kidnapped me! I think the Lion's going to eat me! Don't trust them, they'll try and take your things!" It was becoming clockwork at this point, he didn't even have to think for his arm to grsp hold of his 'guide'. "Now how's he gonna react to that?" Leo stood tall, stern face watching for the slightest sign of conflict from Riyak. Tarak was the one who would determine how things would unfold should a fight start. He had no reason to help Leo, other than being batch together in the bandits words, then again he had just as little reason to help Riyak.

Silvia Dreamweaver
╚══════════════╝

Level 0ChimeraTailor/Blacksmith

It was the screaming that caught Silvia's attention, a desperate sort of voice that claimed he would be eaten by a lion. A fellow Chimera like herself it seemed, thought perhaps not to friendly if they truly did plan to eat the owner of the voice. While a fully carnivorous breed of Chimera herself she frowned upon consuming anything with a certain level of intelligence. What could she do though? Silvia was an escape artiest not a fighter. Besides it really wasn't any of her business. Any of the bandits here would kill her and leave her to rot if given the opportunity, so why should she waste her time trying to save one? Still....

Okay, she would just take a quick look. Curiosity had won out. After all was she not traveling to experience the world? It was with caution that she set off in the direction of the voice screaming for help. Even with the scant cover the terrain provided the spider hybrid made the most of it to remain unseen while she moved in prefect silence until she could see and hear the group. Honestly the Lion Hybrid was a behemoth compared to Silvia's small stature, as was the half-orc. A third male stood some thirty feet away. Friend? Enemy? Maybe it was best she slipped away quietly before they had a chance to notice her, yet curiosity compelled her to see how things would play out.

Aid their survival. Tarak thought about that a moment as he heard the cat's little purring engine near his ear. It did make sense he supposed. Feeding the animal and protecting it from assorted wildlife had been accidental 'can't stand by and watch it happen' moments but it had given the cat reason to stick by him. So really he had done this to himself and he'd likely not be rid of the small animal anytime soon. On the one hand he was glad for it, the other asked him if he could continue to care for the cat. It wasn't like he had a place to return to or a home to give the animal. Thankfully Leorio started talking about the Skaglands again and he could shake off the rabbit hole his thoughts had disappeared down. At this point there was really no worrying about it.

"I believe at one point it was not such a wasteland. Drought and lack of rain have caused the lands to dry and lead the herding animals away." Nature had abandoned this place but for the few animals who had either adapted or migrated here. Still it was a wonder as to what had happened to cause this land to be so barren. Something that had obviously occurred well before any of their times. Which led him to wonder what this land would have looked like with proper water resources and rain. Green, he supposed, like the lands north of here. Lush with life perhaps. A good deal better for the people here. Sadly that was just speculation as there was nothing that would make the changes immediate aside from magic. Magic was something he steered clear of as a general rule and always set his skin prickling.

The voice made his left hand grip the sword at his waist and his eyes snapped up to where it had originated from. A kid? A young man? He wasn't sure really. Humans could be insanely hard to age despite their more mortal status. Elves he had never even bothered trying, mostly because they didn't seem to like his kind let alone be willing to speak to him. Warily he eyed the newcomer as he approached, not quite sure where he had come from or what he wanted. There were a lot of people out here and he assumed it was likely because of the tournament. Events like that had a tendency to draw in a certain crowd, however, and he had to wonder where this one stood in it all. "Tarak." He eventually managed after Leorio had introduced himself.

When the bandit started up again he admitted to actually being startled. Great timing, this one, and he had to grit his teeth a little. It was pathetic that he would try to incite people to fight for him. The bandit was more of a hassle than anything and he wasn't sure why Leorio was keeping him around at this point. The city couldn't be much further and this 'shortcut' the bandit spoke of could just lead them into a trap rather than their destination. There would be less hassle in just letting the bandit run off to wherever he called home and be done with it. He supposed it could be worse, he could have just used his lousy map and ended up lost. "If you believe him then I have a wonderful patch of land to sell you." Gesturing at their surroundings in a gruff joke.

Riyak Silver

Monsters don't sleep under the bed...

Riyak smiled as the animal like one introduced himself as Leorio and the other one just said, what Riyak presumed to be, his name Tarak. Riyak looked the small group over, he searched for any gold as he did want to actually walk over and greet them properly, however just because he didn't see any gold upfront didn't mean there was none. As Riyak took a breath to ask the question the third man woke up and began crying for help. He accused the two of kidnapping him and that he thought the lion was going to eat him, before telling Riyak not to trust him. Riyak sighed as he saw the two men tense up a little in response. "Great... now I've got to deal with this" Riyak mumbled as he looked them over. Tarak was the first to speak after the man who was kidnapped,he told Riyak that if he believed the man then he had a wonderful patch of land to sell him. Riyak raised an eyebrow at the statement, unsure of how to proceed, mainly because he didn't quite get the what Tarak had just said. Riyak stood there wondering if it was meant as a threat, or possibly something else, there was no way it was meant literally, so most likely it was some form of threat. That in itself was odd, why would they threaten Riyak right after being accused, he assumed they would try to counter what the man had said with some form of excuse, all of this pointed to the man's innocence, in any case he was being held against his will. Riyak was now at an impasse, he didn't want to fight, but he did want to free the man being held, perhaps a small show of power was an order? No Riyak knew that would only lead to violence and probably bodies, then again there was always the possibility that the man was lying which lead to a whole bunch more problems. Riyak sighed he figured he'd have to negotiate this one out though a small display of power may be needed as well, all of which would be a headache.

"So you deliver a threat... well I assume that patch of land thing was a threat... rather than a excuse for why your carrying this man here, which to me doesn't help your case, so do you have anything to say in your defense? Cause I'm unsure why two men would hold someone against their will out here, unless they were bandits" Riyak said bbefore he looked at the man being held "don't worry sir I'd like to figure out whats going on first then I'll get you out of this mess, just hold tight for now and everything will be okay" Riyak said as he looked at the others, it was a battle for Riyak's decision now, as he was unsure on how to act and he wanted to get both sides of the story first. "Just so we are all clear, I'm not one to be trifled with, I want the truth and the truth only and all will be good" Riyak's aura flared to life as a large pillar of energy enveloped him and tore up the ground around him as a show of force "so lets get this negotiation over with then" Riyak said as he walked closer, though his gaze didn't fall on any of the three as he walked forwards. When he had let his power flare a moment ago he felt a fourth presence, while he didn't see whatever it was yet he kept an eye open for it as he approached the three before him

Watching Riyak look about the group, Leos left hand reached into his pocket forming a tight grip on the knuckle duster resting within. Fortunately for him it appeared Tarak was going to aid him should things go south and based off his choice of words, it was already heading in that direction, "Not the best answer Tarak, humans are tricky things to deal with." As Ryak started of his speech and got ever closer Leo wondered what the best course of action would be should words fail to alleviate this tension, "Humans, constantly thinking their the top of the world." A part of Leo wanted to snap this kids neck in his jaw but then he really would be nothing more than an animal, "Ok, incapacitate the guide. I worked to hard to keep him leading me in the right direction, I'll choose when he gets to go. Then... A hearty kick to this kids chest should give me a chance to garner his strength." It was at this point Riyaks aura made itself known, Leo didn't event flinch as the ground buckled under its pressure, "Hmmm... Kids got spunk at least. Does he think that's enough to make us fear him though?" Problem was this show of force did nothing but get Leos blood to surge, begging for the thrill of battle. "Well.. I wonder that myself. Then again. I see no reason anyone would kidnap this guy."

He lifted the man off his shoulder with his right arm, allowing the fingers on his left slide into the knuckle duster. The man was a decent size although a little underweight, the simple act of being able to throw the bandit up a little to quickly snap his grasp so he held the back of the bandits head should go to show Leos apparent strength. "No need to go overboard, we're probably matched physically anyway. I doubt the kid has much more strength than that." As the wind changed direction Leo got a wiff of a new scent, for now he cast that out his mind to focus on the problem at hand. "Doesn't exactly look like he's made of money." Smiling he locked his gaze on Riyak, "But if you want the truth, then yes. I did kidnap this man. Although. I did so after he tried to steal my food a few nights back, if that makes my actions any more tolerable to you." Riyak gave the slightest sign that someone else was nearby, this only seemed to make Leos muscles bulge, "Guess my nose didn't lie to me. Let's hope this isn't another pretentious human. Doesn't smell like it." Right now Leos intentions were clear, "Fight me or don't." Riyaks reasoning meant nothing to him, whether he was fighting to save this bandit or he himself was a bandit.

It occurred to him that neither of his companions had any sort of humor in them. It was insanely frustrating that people saw him as a half-orc and assumed he meant everything as a threat. Nose crumpling in disgruntled irritation he snorted. "What cause do I have to threaten you, human? It was meant in jest. Or as a joke, whichever explanation suits your fancy. The bandit is in no danger." And yeah maybe he didn't have to talk to him like he was an idiot, but honestly how could he assume a threat from that? It was a lot of assumptions for one approaching complete strangers in the Skaglands of all places. What sort of person would come up to a group of others and start trouble? Tarak had stopped to see about these two, but he hadn't been at all thrown by the chimera's captive. Bandits were rife in the area after all, and he wasn't hurting him.

The grip on his sword tightened further as the little child decided he would be the one to start negotiations. Who did he think he was? The sheer arrogance of this human was mind blowing. How dare he think he had any say in this? Hell not even he had much say as it was Leorio's guide and not his. When the little human showed his hand it only made him want to fight him all the more. It may not have been a long fight, but he didn't care. Humans with their holier-than-thou mentality and their ridiculous notion that they were somehow a superior race. Made his calm evaporate quicker than anything else. How dare he act as if he and he alone had the power to dictate what they did. They were free men and had no need to ask his permission to go about their lives.

"Negotiation? What gives you the right, child? You walk into a situation you know nothing of and decide you are to be judge and jury?" His contempt was practically dripping from his words. Little got him riled up like this, patience and calm had been instilled in him by the monks after all. But bigotry like this. How could one ignore such an insult? As if this little boy could make the decision for them and they'd have to do as he said. It struck a raw nerve in him as it always did. "And you side with the bandit on the matter? You have promised to help him and why?" The closer he got the more tense he became. There was a voice in the back of his head that said he should have just kept walking. Scamp seemed to sense his state and had made herself known, tail all bushy and hair standing up as she hissed.

Riyak sighed as he noted his little show of force did nothing to intimidate the people before him. I guess I was too gentle then, a pain in the neck I really don't want to fight Riyak thought to himself as he walked forwards. Leorio was the first to speak up to Riyak, saying that he didn't see any reason anyone would kidnap the man, Riyak sighed this was already going down hill fast, he could see desire in Leorio's eyes to fight, especially when the chimera tossed the captive man with little effort, Riyak shook his head a little, he guessed that was a show of strength, not that it was that impressive. Riyak's attention soon shifted to Tarak as he explained what he said was meant as a joke and that the bandit was in no danger. Riyak sighed a little, he was too young, even if he appeared older, he wasn't used to all the sayings of people and what all was humor. "Okay then my bad, sorry about that" Riyak said, though he wanted to speak a little more of his mind, telling this Tarak fellow not to speak down to him as he was, but in the interest of resolving all of this peacefully Riyak bit his tongue instead. Leorio soon spoke up again saying that it didn't look like the man was made of money, before going on to explain that he did kidnap the man, but only after the man tried to steal his food. As Riyak was about to respond Tarak soon spoke up poking at Riyaks attempt to negotiate, asking what right Riyak held to be judge and jury in this situation. Riyak thought of several good reasons, one being that if this got him too riled up bodies would stack up, most likely the three of them here. Tarak continued on accusing Riyak of instantly siding with the bandit by promising help to him. Riyak took a deep breath, he was in a mine field here, each of his potential opponents seemed to be chomping at the bit to fight, the lion fellow even adopted a look that told Riyak that word were going to be ineffective, yet he had to try, the last thing he wanted was a all out brawl here "I just want to settle this in a civil manner, Tarak I promised help to the man being held here, to try and ease his nerves a little, trying to get a grasp of a situation is always more difficult when some one is panicked. I just want to understand the situation before acting here, I'm not on the 'bandits' side, as you call it, or your side yet, I want to determine who is right and who is wrong here first" Riyak said in a calm voice though he was getting increasingly irritated.

Riyak took a deep breath, letting some of his irritation fade, he knew he couldn't let his emotions get carried away, if his eyes went scarlet everything was over. "I don't mean to act as the judge and jury here, but there is the possibility that a man could be in serious danger, he already expressed a desire for help, so if it is justified I'm willing to help the man. Leorio, if he just stole food why would you kidnap him, I think thats a tad too far, I mean I would have maybe roughed him up a little then let him go, I'm guessing that there is a part of this I'm not hearing, if you could refrain from knocking this man unconscious, I'd like to hear his side of the story if its not too much trouble" Riyak said, trying to keep his tone kind, knowing he was on thin ice already "please lets just talk this out there is no need to fight"

Taking a moment Leo thought on his response, "Seems like he's avoiding a fight all of a sudden. Need to save his energy for something? Or is that new scent not with him?" Smile unfading Leo answered, "Because he knows the way into town. I'd been wondering aimlessly before he found me, I wasn't about to let the opportunity pass me by... As for his safety.." In all honesty Leo had been feeding the bandit whilst they travelled, but he doubted anyone would believe that. A dying guide is no good to anyone, even if it meant he got through his supplies twice as fast. Leos face returned to its natural stern self, "He's alive." Leo had no reason to carry out Riyaks requests, as far as he cared this man was his captee, meaning it was Leos choice what happened to him until the man was the captee of someone else. "I've kept him this long and, as I've told him multiple times, I'm gonna let him go when we reach the city. So, Riyak, if you want me to release him any sooner I have two suggestions for you. First." His grip tightened on the back of the bandits head, causing the bandit to regret all his life choices up to this moment. "Stop your advance. We can talk perfectly fine without you getting any closer and showing off. Makes you seem like some kind of high and mighty judge as my friend stated. A bit of distance can go a long way when negotiating." The bandit did his best to nod his head upon hearing this, too afraid to say Leos grip was close to crushing his skull.

The slight pause between the two sentence seemed to go on longer than possible, although in actuality they were but a few seconds long. The breeze gently whipped by, caressing Leos face as it went, carrying with them the scent of earth and death. The eerie towering mountains felt twice as tall as before almost as if they had sat up to oversee what would happen. They were the only visible signs of life as far Leo could tell, "I guess this is as good as a grave yard as any. Although I always hoped there'd be at least one cutie nearby to cry for my departure. But I must know." No physical change took place but there was something very different about Leo, somehow his presence was far more noticeable than before, and for a place with hardly anyone around it was strange someone could stand out even more. "Second... Take him from me. If you listen to my first bit of advice then, maybe, I'll consider it. But the second will be treated as an act of aggression on your part. Don't think I'm one to be trifled with either." His body was ready to respond to Riyaks answer before his mind would have a chance to process it. A step back was good, conversation could continue. Stopping was ok, chances were they'd find themselves at an impasse, but who could really say for sure. Any motion forward and the bandit would find himself six feet under, while Riyak might be surprised to find Leo inches from his face, left arm ready for a punch square across his chin.

Panicked. Seriously? The stupid bandit had been asleep just moments before this arrogant child had shown up. Real 'panicked'. "Opportunistic, not panicked." He snorted. Of all the humans he had met he could honestly say none of them had impressed him thus far. The sense of entitlement really did grate at his entire being. Tarak was older than this little punk, though more than he knew, and was insulted that he thought his decision would be followed. If only it was the human 'royalty' that act this way he'd make exceptions for the rest of humanity, but it seemed to be a trait they all shared. "Again. Who are you to say either way? What we do is none of your concern, and even less in your hands to decide. These are not your lands and we are certainly not your people." In fact the 'laws' of Skaglands were almost nonexistent, differing based on where you were and who currently decided what went and what didn't.

What a naive little human he was. Serious danger? Even Tarak could see the bandit was not harmed, and the way he belly-ached let him assume he wasn't going unfed or watered. He was paying for trying to steal by being a guide. And yet this boy said Leorio should have just 'roughed him up'. Seriously? "Is that how you solve your problems, boy? Roughing people up? I think the bandit got off easily with Leorio then, heaven forbid he had run into you." The kid wanted the bandits side of the story? The lying, conniving little pustule of a man would likely only do what he needed to get free. Mark his words if this human child decided that the bandit was more trustworthy than either of them he'd be more than justifiably angry. He had been warned, of course, that he would not be treated the same as he had been at the monastery. And a certain part of him had been young and naive back then. The world, however, had quickly showed him just how cruel it could be.

Leorio went on to explain himself again and Tarak hated that he did. I mean sure someone had to be more level headed than himself at the moment. Years of prejudice and mistreatment kind of made him snappy when it reared its head. A bit of relief did go through him as Leorio told Riyak to stop getting closer to them. If it ended in a fight he would take chimera's side without question. And whatever power the kid had was irrelevant. Tarak had fought monsters bigger than the brat, had been doing mercenary work when the kid was likely still learning to walk. If he had known the kid was only ten he would have laughed, long and hard until his breath wheezed out. At thirty one that gave him the upper hand in experience alone. As it stood now he thought he was an adult at least in his twenties. With that said and Leorio's statement for the other to stop his advance there was not anything more to be said. His hand was wrapped around the hilt of his sword and he was just waiting for the boy to not heed the warning.

Riyak nodded as Leorio explained the situation a little more, saying that he knew the way into town and before he found the man he had just been wandering around aimlessly, after he told Riyak that he went onto say that the victims safety was that he was alive. "Alive isn't exactly safe" Riyak responded quickly before Tarak chimed in, once again stating the pointing out that Riyak should but out and that he had no say in the matter. Riyak stood there for a minute without answering, he didn't really have an answer, it was true he had no say in the matter, he had zero legal power, not that it really mattered in the wasteland they were standing in. Still, Riyak hated seeing people getting hurt like this, from what he gathered from the two he faced, there was every chance that the man would die if nothing was done, Riyak couldn't tolerate that, after killing so many himself he had zero taste for any sense of the act. Leorio soon spoke up, snapping Riyak out of his thoughts, stating that there were two ways to go about this to ensure the man's release, the first part Riyak listen to, it was a simple request to stop his approach, the justification was that it made him seem like a high and mighty judge. Riyak watched as he tightened his grip on the man's head, causing the man to nod slowly agreeing with Leorio. The second option was to take the man from Leorio. Riyak clenched his teeth, he didn't know why these people wanted a battle so badly, it didn't make sense, normal people didn't just fight each other, then again normal was a stretch, Riyak remembered he was in the wastelands, normal was abnormal here. Tarak soon spoke to Riyak again, though his words seemed to fall on deaf ears as Riyak's attention was on Leorio and the man who was in danger of having his skull crushed.

"Stop that... get your hand off of his head and put him aside" Riyak said, his body posture changed, he was growing tired of trying to reason with those who had no reason, or at least that was how it seemed. The air seemed to grow thick as a sense of danger emitted from Riyak. "look we could have settled this like civilized people, but it seems for some unnatural reason you people want a fight, you've made no indication of just being fine with talking, heck if we could just talk these things out we might have come to some sort of way to resolve all of this, but I see that's not possible" Riyak felt his eyes change colour with his anger, turning a blood red hue. As they did the aura he emitted didn't radiate with a sense of danger, Riyak's body seemed to glow with unrelenting violence "Korusei... Korusei... KORUSEI" Riyak began yelling as his body began to shift, yet half way through he grabbed the sides of his head as he visibly began struggling, and for once he slowly brought himself back"No... not again, just calm down" Riyak muttered to himself. The murderous aura he was emitting calmed down, though there was still a general aura of danger wrapped around his body. "look... town is about a mile or so from here, I'm competing in a tournament there, I'll show you the way there, just release that man while I'm still in control, I don't know if either of you have ever heard of a Lycanoid, but thats what I am and things will get messy here if we continue like this so here is your two options" Riyak took a deep breath letting himself calm down, he couldn't let his anger grow any more "Either release that man and come with me, or attack me and fight like you two seem to desire, the choice is yours" Riyak said hoping that Leorio and Tarak would choose the smart option

Silvia was honestly worried for the little human. The half-orc Tarak and the Chimera Leorio seemed to tower over Riyak, yet he didn't back down. It wasn't until Riyak preformed the display of power that she understood why. Light so bright it hurt her eyes to look at shot up to the sky and the ground rumbled in protest. Tremors she could feel even from her little hiding spot.

Yet the other two seemed unconcerned. It was hard for her not to laugh. Honestly she kind of liked Tarak, his comments and his sort of nonchalant attitude towards the situation. How powerful were the other two that they were so unconcerned about the humans powers? Riyak was an interesting character, one second seeming to try to make peace, yet at the same time threatening and acting aggressively towards the other two. Not that Leorio was helping, but she found herself sympathizing with the two as the exchange continued, despite her wanting the captive to be freed.

The second use of Riyak's aura was frightening. Every instinct told to her run, yet at the same time she found herself unable to do so. If she moved he'd see her, if she stayed maybe he'd find her. She should go now while he was busy with the other two. No she should stay hidden. Then all the sudden it was pulled back and some sense of rational thought returned to Slivia. She cocked her head to the side slightly as the human seemed to struggle with himself for a minute. Then cautiously she stepped out of her hiding place and took a few tentative steps towards the group. “It sounds like the problem is resolved then. You have a new guide.” She offered while releasing some of her pheromones into the air, the kind that were meant to create a general feeling of calmness among those who breathed them in. Unfortunately at present she wasn't sure how effective they would be given the apparent rage of Riyak and how far away she was standing from all of them. Either way she didn't want things to lead to bloodshed.

「 Leorio Auburn
If you got food and a warm heart, you can't be all that bad

/|--/|--/|--/|--/|--/|--/|--/|--/|

Leo was unsure what to make of the strangeness of Riyaks motion along with the sudden personality switch. Riyak seemed to keep control of himself stopping Leo from pushing his already exhausted body any further. "A Lycanoid huh? Can't say I've ever heard of one" All of the animosity left Leo as Ryiak explained how close the town was. Without any idea how far he still had to go his hunger was starting to get to him after having to share his food with this thief. As a new face revealed itself to be non-hostile Leo began to give a hearty laugh, for some reason the situation seemed far more hilarious than anything else. "Hey guide. Is he right about ther only being a mile left?" Leo was already annoyed that the guide never gave an idea of how much further there was, but to hear that there was only a mile left annoyed him all the more. "Well.. Uuh, well.. Back to town? I guess. Yeh, yeh sounds bout right from ere" Placing the man back on his shoulder he looked back at Riyak, "Well then, Riyak. Kindly show us the way, and before you start. I'm taking this guy with me. If you're worried for his safety then by all means keep an eye on us, but he's free to go when we get to town. That's the promise I made to him and the promise I'm going to keep." Leo began to walk towards Riyak, close enough that Riyak could attack him as he went to walk past him. Should no one stop him from walking past Riyak he Leo would turn back to get a good look at then new person, "Sorry, where are my manners. Are you coming with us? I find travelling with ladies helps to keep groups of men from killing each other, but feel free to do as you please.. Uh.. What was your name again?" From this distance Riyak would be able to see just how hungry Leo was and when compared with the thief it would be evidently clear that Leo had been feeding him better than himself for quite some time now.

"You are the one who threatened violence, boy!" Tarak felt as if he might explode from the sheer audacity of this boy. Walking up to strangers, deciding he was going to 'fix' a situation he should have kept his nose out of, and then showing his 'power' to try and intimidate them. What sort of manipulative little s**t had they the unfortunate pleasure of meeting? It was certain he thought himself above them. Why else would a child disrespect absolute strangers this way? The boys solution had been to beat the guy up. Leorio hadn't harmed the bandit, and was only making a point to stop the arrogant little brat's approach. Tarak had not been ready for a fight when he had approached the lion chimera, and in fact still didn't want to. There was just simply no way he was going to be spoken to the way he was, or threatened into bowing down to this little humans demands.

When he began shouting he grit his teeth and slowly started to unsheathe his weapon. If the boy wanted a fight then there would be one. Even as he noticed the shifting he was not afraid of him. If this child did kill them it would be ironic to be sure. The brat who had wanted to 'talk it out' killing them instead. "Lycanoid, who cares boy? You still seem to think your say goes here. If you think intimidation is going to work against us you are severely wrong. The only one instigating a fight is you." And possibly Leorio, but he didn't know if he was doing it on purpose or in response to this child's irritating presence. The kid's presence had invoked a strong need to fight in Tarak and he wasn't usually one to resort to violence straight out of the gate. Unless, of course, said person was being insulting or, in this case, pretending he was better than them.

The appearance of another person made Tarak wonder just how many eyes were on this little confrontation. For a large area mostly devoid of anything but bandits there was certainly a strange concentration of people here. Did either of these two newcomers live in the Skaglands? For obvious reasons the boy did not. If he had the stupid child would have avoided them completely rather than shove his opinion and presence on them. There was a feeling of calm steeling over him and he wondered about that a moment, knowing he was still angry at the boy, but seemingly relaxing anyway. The hand on his sword loosened its tight grip and let it slid back firmly into its sheath. Was it something she was doing? Would that even work on the lycanoid brat? There was really only one way to know, letting his gaze flicker back to the child. If this would not end in a fight he'd be fine with it, it all, at this point, rested on the child's shoulders.

Riyak looked at Leorio as he said he never seen a Lycanoid before, Riyak nodded slightly "Most people never hear of my breed, we're an abomination of a race" Riyak said, before looking at Tarak who scoffed at his remark, for some reason that man made Riyak's blood boil, but for now he just had to keep it all under control "Yes I'm trying intimidation, I'm trying everything here, sorry I have bad people skills, mainly because I tend to kill people against my will, it doesn't help my speech skills" Riyak said as his fists balled up yet he let out a deep breath and tried to relax a little before speaking again "All I wanted to know was why you had a man against his will, he asked for help and I wanted to help. Am I not allowed to try and help people? To be honest, though I may not look it, I'm only ten years old and I've spent most my life forced against my will, so someone be held against their will strikes a little close to home, sorry for trying to help someone" Riyak retorted, yet he kept his breathing constant and deep, his focus stayed sharp, he was mad, but he wasn't letting it run away with him, though little did he know there was another party releasing pheromones keeping Riyak in check. Riyaks anger seemed to melt away, leaving him in an almost lucid state for a moment before he shook his head as Leorio walked past him, returning to his senses. It was then that Riyak saw the other person a spider like woman, she spoke the situation to them saying it looked like they had a new guide, Riyak nodded, they already knew that, he was the new guide after all. Riyak shook his head again, his mind was feeling a little cloudy almost, Riyak was no fan of the feeling, the calming feeling made him put up his guard a little, though he didn't make any outward notions, he didn't want any more conflict what just happened was enough, it was a miracle that he hadn't torn them apart. "Come on towns this way" Riyak said as he started walking before he noticed Leorio compared to the man he was holding, Riyak felt stupid, he owed the lion man an apology, though Tarak he still felt needed a beating, still he would hold his tongue for now the less talking the better
