Hello, I'm Leeana. I'm 26 years old and I've been practicing witchcraft for about 13 years. These practices include herbal magics, trance, spirit work and more. I am also a Mesopotamian Reconstructionist. Basically that means I worship the Mesopotamian gods and work to revive their beliefs and practices in a modern way. The folk magic that I practice is derived from the Meso. culture as well. I'm very open/outspoken about my religion, but that's just how I've always been about pretty much everything. Right now I'm re-reading the translations of the Maqlu text.

I'm probably the most uninteresting member here. You can call me Cam or Camilo. I was raised Roman Catholic and attended a private Catholic school in Colombia. I lived there until age sixteen and moved in with my father to the States.
I'm a recent college graduate, I'm 25 and I am a journalist of sorts (I write online articles for this college news site) Currently searching for jobs and whatnot here in Orlando.

Though I'll admit I am familiar with Wicca and some similar practices, I am completely skeptical. Though I am a fan of watching shows on ghosts and cryptids and reading stories about hauntings, I simply lack that certain whatever that enables me to believe that any of that could be real. I entertain the notion that given enough evidence I could believe...I'd probably need to be slapped hard across the face by some entity to accept their existence, though probably I'd convince myself it was something else.
I consider myself an atheist in the complete sense of the word and sometimes even an anti-theist, but I am nowhere near as obnoxious as Richard Dawkins or Sam Harris.
I'm more like Stephen Fry.

I'm a full-time vegan and full-time homosexual. I have a boyfriend. I also like reading up on neurology, psychology and astronomy. I have an amateur paleontology license.

Suffice to say, I am quite fond of tangible reality and scientific facts.

'Ello!
I'm Kelsey, though I enjoy being called Kase or Rae.
I'm 23 and currently finishing my business degree.
A little about me, outside of witchy things: I'm a freelance writer, I love movies, and I'm a prime time tv-holic. I also love anime, learning, crafty things, reading fanfiction, being a guru, and playing video games. (There's more but these are my day-to-day).
I'm an "eclectic" witch, so to say. I'm not really one for sub labels - so let's just say I'm a witch and move on xD.
I identify close to both Celtic and Norse 'religions'.
I practice tarot. I also use Oracle and Karma cards. Besides cards, I also use a pendulum, runes, numerology, astrology, and even bibliomancy.
I love anything to do with crystals, herbs, chakras, and general correspondence stuff.
I have always been fascinated by the unknowns in life.
I'm Empathic, and have some third eye abilities, or "psychic" I guess, when it comes to the dead. (Not like "Your mom is here with me ... " Kind of stuff... It's really hard to explain and I just haven't explored it enough myself u_U)
I'm part of the vulture society, or "vulture culture."
Research is a hobby of mine, so I'm always a well of information. Useless and not.

If you would like to know anything more about me, subjects, etc feel free to message me!

&&Keep learning, always <3.

Welcome to the guild!!

Also, what is vulture culture??

Thankyou!
The practice of collecting bones and such from dead animals. Like, taxidermy.
Though, I refrain from a lot of the dirty work as I'd much rather not see an intact animal, dead, in person, much less rot it for it's bones in my own backyard. I'm sure my landlord is grateful for that..
I find my bones naturally. Usually when the rot has already passed, and clean them up. I like to do this as it gives the animal purpose after it's passing.
<3.

Hi, everyone! My real name is Jen and I will be 23 in April.
heart I am Asian-American (Chinese)
heart I am an Aries-Taurus cusp.
heart I can speak English, and basic to intermediate Cantonese and Mandarin.
heart I will be getting my degree in biology with a minor in chemistry in May.
heart I am an introvert so that means I am more of an observer, listener, and thinker. I don't talk much because my I spend a lot of my time in my own inner world.
heart How did I get into occult? Well, about 4 years ago, I had a very powerful and profound connection with another human being. It was a moment that transformed me forever and made me believe that there's more to this physical plane. It was a very transformative and heart-breaking experience. I ended up doing some research on some odd things that people would not perceive as normal and I fell in love with the topics. I even took holistic health classes (they believe that all aspects - mind, body, and spirit - of health should be taken into consideration) at my university and I was surprised by the topics. They taught us about chakras, the 5 elements, meditation, acupuncture, qi, etc. That was when I decided that holistic health would become one of my favorite subjects.
heart I remember that when I was very young (elementary school days) my prayers were very specific and some of those prayers came true. I always shrugged them off as being coincidences. It wasn't until about 3 years ago that I realized that those weren't just simply coincidences. sweatdrop
heart One of my favorite Youtube channels is Spirit Science. I have learned so much about spirituality and the unknown from their videos.
heart I've learned so much about myself during these past few years and I hope to continue to grow and learn.

I hope we can get along! :3

Hello. I prefer to go by the name Kahra rather than my given name, but am perfectly comfortable simply being referred to as Wolf or Wolf-Girl as well, so feel free to take your pick.

I am 22 years old and presently work in the medical field, though it is not of much interest to me. I only started to seriously learn more in the area of magick a couple years ago, and still have a lot left to discover. As a child, my parents tried to raise me as Catholic, but by the age of 7 I decided I didn't believe in their religion. I call myself an Atheist for the general public because it's easier to explain than what I actually am. I am a practitioner of magick without the aspect of religion, I acknowledge that magick is real and that there are things in this world that we don't yet understand. But I don't believe in any form of all powerful god-type being that brought the universe into creation.

I've always had innate abilities that I can't explain, for as long as I can remember. I had dream premonitions for many years when I was younger, and later developed my other talents. As of this point in my life, I can almost always tell if someone is telling the truth, and I have a strong sense of empathy.

My experience with practical magic started 4 years ago when I bought my first set of Tarot cards. I bonded with them very quickly, and used them often. They have yet to let me down. About two years ago, I met a couple who were practitioners of Celtic magick. They had been in a functioning coven years back until it disbanded. The three of us formed a small group for the purpose of learning and teaching each other what we knew, but unfortunately that group fell apart when I moved out of the state last June.

Right now, I'm teaching myself more from a couple books I've managed to find after a great deal of searching for reliable material.

Sorry for rambling on, I'll leave it at that. I look forward to meeting you all.

Greetings all!

I'm going on 34 this month (guess that makes me an elder, based on reading other intros here). I have a masters degree in music composition (my degrees literally spell B.A.M.M.). I have a strong artistic streak for all forms of art. I spin fire (poi, rope dart, staff, and swords). I have over 8000 paper cranes, and I'm always making more. I have a grand piano and a nice sound system with Ableton for composing music. Here's my Soundcloud if you're interested.

For work, I work at a retreat center that hosts a variety of groups, including all manner of spiritualities. We've got about 350 acres, 210 of which are protected in a preserve easement (a legal protection on the deed, just in case my bosses ever sell). We have cabins, a private lake, a few miles of trails, horses, loads of wildlife. It's heaven, but I've been here so long sometimes I take it for granted. It's still definitely home. The land is my grandmother.

My spiritual background: In 2005 I started exploring spirituality after my academic career went south bigtime and I lost any remaining faith I had in a deist form of "God" (though I still had conversations with the wind like I did as a child). I read Joyce and River Higginbotham's "Introduction to Paganism and Earth-Centered Religions." That was pivotal and it led to an even more pivotal reading of "Condensed Chaos: An Introduction to Chaos Magick" by Phil Hine. That one really changed my life. It opened up the ability to set aside my disbelief (I'm a natural skeptic) and really engage things.

In 2006, I learned tarot from a woman who had been doing it for 50 years (a great method that allows you to read any deck). Shortly after, I had my first past life experience -- and many more in the future, all of which manifest randomly just like memories popping into my head. I later tried absinthe, then pot, then ecstasy (a mistake I highly recommend against), then acid, mushrooms, DMT, and finally Ayahuasca all with relatively spiritual contexts and definitely with positive effects (for the record I do not recommend any of these for people under 25). I also explored a variety of religions and practices in that time (astrology, yoga, numerology, runes, and so on and so on).

I went to Burning Man twice, first co-creating a Goddess Temple in 2007 with a variety of goddess altars from around the world, and in 2008 co-founding a 10,000 square foot temple that was more holistic and dual-gendered (which caused a mental breakdown for me, because the Divine Genders never stop acting like children). We even got a scathing review in the Washington Post (conservative paper), which was surprising and delightful.

In 2008, I moved to the retreat center where I now work, and changed tack. Now I focused on native studies mostly. I apprenticed under an Arapaho ceremonial man, I worked for a Shawnee (not registered) elder, and I regularly did ceremonies with ayahuasca. A man, a woman, and a plant. It worked well. I did many sweat lodges and Aya ceremonies, and had many everyday spiritual experiences here at the retreat center with my boss. It's magic every day here.

I pulled out of my second vision quest early in 2011 and haven't been back to more than a couple sweat lodges since then. I was told by the plant to stop ayahuasca ceremonies in 2013, and in 2013 I broke my ankle, had pulmonary emboli in my lungs, and nearly died. Crow and valkyrie/Morrigan energy have been watching over me lately, and more pagan stuff has been calling me. Maybe now that I know how to speak to my ancestors (which I learned from the natives), I'm feeling that draw to my European roots (Frisian, Dutch, and Bohemian).

Lately I've been trying to focus more on my music and my art. Conceptually my music, art, and spirituality have been converging into a unifying concept I call liminalism (on the edge of things). Taking photos of the ice on Lake Michigan this time of year is AMAZING. Playing piano is amazing and healing for me (I do meditations with neat tonal color play).

And I'm always on the lookout for other financial options to help me afford medically necessary surgery that insurance companies won't insure despite the restrictions of the student loans that prevent me from saving money (it's really complicated).

Oh yeah, and my spirituality leans to a kind of animist zen buddhist kind of thing, but more like a populist Alan Watts zen buddhist, rather than traditional stuffy monk style. The animism is just believing that things have a spirit. That allows most religions to be compatible. And underneath the foundation of that I'm an athiest and rare chaos magickian. Rare as in, I rarely cast spells, because MP in real life exists, and people regularly tap themselves for all their mana for meaningless stuff. Save it up. Use it well. Be good. Do good always. And the Wiccan rede and the Discordian catma, all the other good things.

Also, as an aside I'm fond of Discordianism, because no one should take themselves too seriously.

Sorry that was a novel, but it's useful info. If you have questions about just about anything I have answers and experiences that might aid you, or I can direct you to someone who might have answers. I know a lot of people on the coasts (more west than east), but I'm also just here to help anyone who needs it. I rarely had that when I was younger, and I think it's hugely important to offer that.

Wishing you all fond blessings,
Ora

P.S. I forgot to mention, I'm transgender (mtf) so I've got a lot of background on the gender stuff. I've been a woman for 10 years so sometimes I forget to even mention that, but it has definitely affected my background experiences. I'm still pre-op due to financial issues (as stated above). I had a relationship for 3 years with a lesbian woman, but she and I realized I'm really just a straight woman, and that's been 3 years since we broke up.

P.P.S. If you need help with achievements on Gaia, I can help. If you're questing something feel free to let me know (not sure if I'll be able to help, but I'm not poor in Gaia terms). Been on Gaia since 2005, but was MIA 2009-2014.

Figment says "hi."

Hi guys! I practice a bit of everything, but primarily I work with qabalah, the enochian system, and goetia. I'm a reiki healer and also utilize ayurveda and astrology. My belief system is rather varied and I don't necessarily consider it either RHP or LHP but a combination of the two, as I use what works.

Well, I'm Molly, I'm 20, and I grew up in the US. I went to a public school in a small town that is primarily christian as far as religious views go. My family isn't what I would call 'churchy' in fact I can count on one hand the number of times that we attended a Sunday service. In junior high I really started to question christianity as a whole and found that I didn't agree with it at all. My parents embraced me doing my own thing and that's what I did. As far as what I am I'm not really sure how to categorize myself as I am very eclectic in my tastes and ideologies.
I look to the earth most of the time because sometimes to ground myself it literally requires me to shuck my shoes and stand in the mud. I also feel a connection with thunderstorms, then again living in the midwest kinda tends to do that to you in general.
I know basic 'keep that dark s**t away' type of wards or preventatives, partially from just reading and partially from practical application during a bit of a nasty in college where I got into the middle of a mess between an empath and a psychic vampire that was leaching off of her.
I also deal in answering questions with pendulums, mine is home made with a tear drop shaped glass pendant. His name is Bubba and he is very temperamental as to whether he wants to cooperate with people other than me.
I have a Ride Waite tarot deck. I've done some readings for people and they get all shocked when it makes sense to them. I don't let them tell me what their question is, I make them keep it in their head so they can't accuse me of manipulating my answers. It's a clean deck and suits my purposes.
I have two sets of Norse runes, one is wood, elm, and I made it myself. The other is a red jasper set that I bought. Runes aren't my strong suit at all.
I've tried to use dowsing rods to witch water and I have no luck, I can't even find buried water lines (I lament this fact because I am a water well professional and finding buried pvc water lines is part of the job). I know a couple of older guys that are wicked water witchers. I also have a friend that can use dowsing rods to tell you if a particular cow of yours is bred or not, and she's never been wrong.
Outside of the realm of the occult I grew up on the family ranch and when that all went to hell my dad started a water well business. I've been working for him since the start, which was about seven years ago. I spend most of my work days covered in grease and/or mud. I've done the college thing, two and a half years of it and I got bored. I have yet to find any subject that can keep my attention for long enough to make me want to do it for the rest of my life. I did a stint in an equine management/science program and all it made me want to do was bash my head against the nearest wall and cuss out 'horse people' everywhere (note, I grew up old school, have been riding since I was 3, I don't tolerate horses with bad manners or people that baby said horses. I also don't tolerate the whole 'horses are stupid' idea either). After that I went into pre-vet and didn't want to do that either, that was more of a 'my ma wants me to do it so I shall' and I wasn't very impressed with that either (not to mention that my adviser sucked). After two years piddling around doing that I changed majors to geo-science (I became a rock nerd), and changed colleges. Once again I became bored and at semester I left and headed home to work. So here I am four months later, still working for my dad and now a licensed professional (yay me). I'm always up for a good discussion over just about anything. I'm notorious for playing the devil's advocate, so to speak, sometimes I'll stand on the opposing side just for fun, so if I do so it's because it's in my nature, not because I'm trolling you.
Most of the rest of my knowledge refers to random fact and just things I've picked up in my reading over the years (I read a lot, you can't keep good books in front of me).
On another note, I collect rocks and windchimes. I like rocks, I went into geo-science because I've always been a bit of a rock nerd. I collect windchimes because I just like them, they're pretty. I have all types and varieties of windchimes and I believe the current count is up to 22 and I'm starting to run out of ceiling space around the edges of my room. I love nothing quite so well as I love a well tuned chime.
I don't have any particular branch or sect of any religion that I follow, I just find things that make sense and roll with it.
In the past I have had some empathic abilities but in the past half a year I have allowed them to lapse, living in a college dorm with over 1000 others in the building was torture, I can raise a mean shield but not if I'm asleep, I haven't quite nailed that down yet. Let me rephrase, they didn't so much lapse as I buried them under a pile of random junk I found floating in my head, I just haven't dug it out yet.
I love learning new things and styles and practices but alas, where I live is not conducive to this kind of teaching, hence the internet. The only reason I honed the empathy was because I happened to meet one when I was in college and she saw potential in me.
Well, I think I've rambled enough, there is absolutely no order in this post, hmm, sounds like my mind as of late, so I'm going to stop there, if you have questions just ask, I normally don't bite.
