Donny was appalled at the way he was treated on the island as soon as he arrived. They barely took a look at the two before they were declared possible rats by a man covered in chosen ink. The captain said they were more civilized than he thought. But so far they were proving the captain wrong. Two burly men hauled him off the boat, not without a fight, and soon they were in front of this man that gave off an air of authority. Though there seemed to be some tension between him and one of the men behind Cami. The way the inferior rolled his eyes when the superior spoke. He thought no one saw. But Donny was paying attention.
The leader asked them questions and treated them like prisoners. Cami was the first to step forward. Then he proceeded with his questioning and Cami passed it off to him. "I'm here for girl. Her name is Piper. Curly hair. Pretty smile. Nice eyes...." He trailed off and cleared his throat. "I've been looking for Piper everywhere and we got lead here by that boat guy." He gestured behind him only to see the black dot of the boat driving away. Donny rolled his eyes. "I'm just here to see her and my girlfriend Cami came with me."

Derrick had run all the way to the dock to stand at attention behind Grayson. Why the man insisted on not wearing a shirt was beyond Dare but he let it slide and mentally put it on the list of things that pissed him off about the boy. Derrick had never appreciated authority and this guy made it even worse. Nero was at least tolerable because he was caring and a friend as well as a leader. This sex crazed a** hat would never be Derrick's superior. Which is probably why he hadn't been officially invited into the military. Or even into the elite. Which was his ultimate goal.
When the boat arrived Derrick surged forward with the rest of the men. And stood behind the girl escorting her gently off. More gently than the male was being hustled off. When they stood before Gray he went into his speech. And flirted with the possible infiltrator. Derrick seethed until he heard the male speak. He jerked his head towards him. "What the hell do you want with Piper?" He growled perking the ears of the other men. They knew from the meetings the protective guard dog claim he had over the new girl. The young man whipped his head around. "Where is she? Is she okay? How is she? Can I see her?" Derrick turned back to Gray and stood at attention again. "Good ol stone face." Muttered Derrick's partner behind Cami's back.

Cami looked away from Donny as he went on about describing Piper. "I'm here for a girl. Her name is Piper. Curly hair. Pretty smile. Nice eyes..." Her stomach churned, but her face kept still. She knew she needed to go to her emotionless place and it happened naturally. He continued to explain that they looked everywhere, then introduced her as his girlfriend. She looked up again, making eye contact with the man named Grayson first. They weren't holding her back anymore as they were Donny. Apparently she wasn't a threat.
"We were concerned about our friend, that's all. She went missing, and we've searched everywhere for her." That's when the man behind her sneered, causing her to jump forward slightly.
"What the hell do you want with Piper?" He snapped.
Donny got excited at her recognition. So much so that she watched the man holding him, tighten his grip.
But the guy behind her remained silent. She heard someone call him stone face. Which was funny and she'd probably laugh if she wasn't so scared.
"Alright. Settle down. Obviously we know this Piper, thank you Dare." Grayson gave him a look, then refocused on Donny. "Nic you can loosen your grip. I think we will take them down, ask them a few standard questions, then determine where to go from there." He looked at Cami, stepping closer to her, even resting his hand on her shoulder. This caused her breathing to seize. "You will see your dear friend in due time, Derrick has taken excellent care of him." He directed the last bit to Donny, flashing him a smirk as he did so. Then he snapped, jerked his head, and lead the pack, Twitch, Nic, Derrick, and the other guards to the basement.
Cami followed silently, but they made sure that Donny and her kept distance, keeping Derrick and his friend from earlier in between the two, Cami walked in front of Donny. She turned her head, glancing back for him. But instead she came to look at Derrick. Their eyes caught just as her toe snagged the ground, causing her to stumble. But she quickly regained posture, without falling, and continued to walk forward, blushing a crimson.
The future that we hold is so unclear.,

Piper made it just in time to listen in to the part involving her. Donny admitted that he was here for her. And that his girlfriend had come to. As if she didn't feel sick enough...
He came looking for her, with his new girlfriend? She was actually angry. Then she heard Derrick's voice snap back, asking what he wanted with Piper. She almost smiled at that. He seemed to really care, and it sounded like it pissed him off a little too. Was that protectiveness? Did he care?
She shrugged, continuing to listen as Donny quickly asked where she was and such.
Then Grayson was stepping in, talking in his soft soothing voice, as always. He was telling them she was fine, they'd see her. But they had the standard talk to do. He even told Nic to lay off, so that meant he at least somewhat trusted Donny. That was good.
But who was this girl? Why were they here, together? Nothing made sense anymore.
But Piper had to follow, she'd do her best to observe as much as possible without getting caught. Which wasn't going to be easy. The five were hardcore and she knew Nicolette wouldn't be far away for the conversation, she was really the scariest of them all. Screw the tough boys, Nicolette was crazy and everyone knew it. But she was beautiful and talented, smart, and the right hand girl. She held the power, she earned it from what Piper knew.
So, she followed the group as loosely as possible, losing them once they disappeared underground. She wouldn't know more until she found Derrick, who went in with them...
Now what? What the hell was she to do? Piper stayed close to Nero's place, which was where they took the people. Though she only knew that from snooping through Derricks things...
Like she wasn't supposed to.
She decided to wander to the beach nearby, she'd know if they were being let into the group here. They had a dinner, a feast, when new people were welcomed. It was a huge party, it was the most fun she'd ever had. Though her shyness kicked in hardcore... People centering in on her and all.

This stone faced man that stood so close to Cami knew Piper. But he refused to give away any information about her. After Derrick had shouted so suddenly at him he was sure this man was his ticket to Piper. But he didn't like him already. He was rude and hot headed. Piper didn't need that in her life at all.
Donny was so wrapped in his thoughts that he barely missed Grayson's innuendo about how Derrick had taken "good care" or Piper. But he didn't and his heart twinged. Did that seriously mean what he thought it meant? Did this pig touch her in anyway. If he did Donny didn't care how passive he lived his life he was going to go apeshit on him. Was this statue of a man Piper's boyfriend? Where was she?
They were in the process of walking at a pretty decent pace, one where Donny had to use his big boy strides to keep up. The two behind him were pretty ******** intimidating. Especially the one the leader called Nic. He looked like he could bite your ear off without thinking twice about it. After a little bit of walking they rolled up to this very normal looking house with an older man sitting on the front of it reading a magazine.
All the men around him greeted the old man with respect and treated him in almost higher regard than they did Grayson. Donny took heavy note of what he saw the interactions to be to assess the power dynamic.

Grayson immediately got on his case about his outburst. Its not like Derrick was going to apologize to the man but he did feel sorry. If these guys turned out to be skunks then they knew he knew where Piper was. He was just pissed because they dragged her into it. She would be scrutinized again if anything came up bad and he didn't want that for Piper.
When Gray hinted that he had ******** Piper there was a bubbling sense of smug satisfaction in the pit of his stomach. But also sickness hearing it come from the mouth of such a pig. Derrick loved string free sex as much as the next guy but Gray took it to a completely different level and Gray knew it. Its almost like he reveled in it and thats what made it so unbearably sickening. Though all of this was going on in his head Derrick stayed stoney faced as Twitch quickly pulled up information and looked through the databases he needed. It was nice to be prepared so they could get the interrogation over with as fast as possible.
Twitch was amazing at the walking and searching. It seemed like he never ran into anything or fell though his nose was on that tablet or a computer of some kind 24/7.
Derrick was the only one who noticed the stumble that occurred. He reached out to gently catch her elbow and set her right before ushering her up the stairs of Nero's house greeting the actual boss with a nod of the head. Everyone had their own way interacting with the old man. It was based on their levels of familiarity. Derrick would love to become closer to the man but the closest he got was becoming muscle man #3. Nero talked to him occasionally after meetings but never in depth, not like he did with the other four of the elites.
They walked the four down the stairs but not before he leaned in to whisper in Cami's ear. "100% honesty and you'll be fine. You don't look like you have a lying bone in your body anyway, perfect republic princess gone wild." Twitch chuckled, "Hey! I think I have that magazine stashed under my bed for the lonely nights." He whispered to Derrick and Cami both.

Nero had heard of the boat coming in early this morning. He was going to make a special trip down to the docks to see these people but when he rolled out of bed his joints killed him. They were all stiff and locked up. So he decided Gray could do it without him and he could be here to greet them as they came in. So he poured himself a cup of coffee and sat on the porch in wait for their arrival.
When he finally saw them coming down the street he noticed something odd. A straggler following close but not to close behind. He tried to contain a smirk as the men approached. He can't believe at least one of his best didn't notice the girl and at the same time he was impressed. The men approached and he greeted each one individually by name and then smiled at the two newcomers. "Welcome to my island paradise. Please don't take this act of caution personally. Once you're cleared, which I'm sure you will be, the fun can really begin. Let my trusted guys get started and I will meet you down there soon. I have a meeting that I have to attend quick."
When the guys were out of sight he slowly and steadily walked over to Piper. "You know. I could tell you were nosey from the second you stepped onto my island." He teased. "But I didn't peg you as one that could sneak around the best and the brightest without getting caught." Nero smiled. "Why is it I haven't seen you in meetings again?"

Just as Piper's butt fell into the sand, a voice snuck up behind her. She jumped out of her skin, thinking she was in trouble.
"Oh-- I-- Sorry..." She mumbled, straightening herself. Nero was bent over, in a crouch to come face to face with her. But his face was light, he didn't seem angry with her. "Derrick, Uhm. He said you have to be formally invited and I'm still pretty new. Guess I've been trying to lay low. It's sort of what I've always done, you know?" She shrugged. Piper smiled. "It's always been sort of my thing, just fading into the background. My mother said it was strange I could go unnoticed so easily with such a pretty face. But I think she just said that to be motherly." She laughed, amazed at her social skills right now, and also thankful for them.
"I would very much like to attend sir." She stood up as Nero did the same. "But I have to tell you, I was out at the docks, and I know the guy. I'm not familiar with the girl but if she's with him, she's clear. I'm not sure how much my opinion matters, and I'm also not sure why he's here at all. Or how. But we went to school together in the republic." She absently twirled a curl around her finger, trying to keep eye contact as best as possible with minimal stuttering.

Cami's skin still felt hot from where Derrick had touched her. She was trembling from nerves as is, then they were joking, at her expense. She scowled, rolling her eyes before turning to look at them.
"I have nothing to hide. But if I'm here I clearly mustn't be the perfect republic princess, right?" With that they approached the porch where an older guy stood to greet everyone around them. He explained that this was a formality and things would be fine. They'd be welcomed. It was the first warmth she had felt since their arrival.
"Thank you sir." Cami smiled then allowed the rest of them to usher her and Donny to a basement. The basement was clearly unfinished, going through transformations. It was kind of scary, with a black leather couch and a few matching chairs in a circle in the center of the backroom. Grayson clicked on one light and motioned for them to sit in the center of the couch. Cami did, sitting as close to Donny as she possibly could. She folded her hands in her lap as the others sat around them, leaving the biggest chair directly across from Cami and Donny for the older guy, she assumed. Grayson was unsure of how he felt about the guy, but the girl he knew would crack if necessary. She seemed so innocent, though quick to step forward. She wasn't fearful, just wanted to calm everything. Violence clearly made her uncomfortable. He lead the group back, approaching Nero first. They shook hands, met eyes, and smiled at one another. He looked him over, making sure he looked alright. Lately he worried him with his health. Then he greeted the girl and guy. He was always so cheerful, ready to trust and add to their clan. It was a good thing Grayson wasn't quite so easy. He had to be won over. And he could think of so many ways the girl could do that.
They took them downstairs, which was a side door right inside the front of the house. He directed the pair to sit in the center of the unfinished basement on the leather couch.
"Nero will be down soon." He took his seat to the right of Nero's chair, then was joined by Nicolette.
"Hey sweet thing." She breathed into his ear, then turned to glance at the new pair. "Sorry I'm late, really wanted to go to the docks but I was a little tied up." She laughed, then her brother sat beside her and she cooled it, instead just checking out the new people. "What are your thoughts, Gray?"
He shrugged, "I think they'll check out. No red flags from Twitchy, so I'm assuming it'll go smoothly." He chewed on his bottom lip, running his hand over his mostly-bald head. "How much do you know of Piper?"
Nicolette shrugged. "Seems to have that one around her finger." She pointed to where Derrick was sitting, on the opposite side, near to Cami and next to Twitch.
