"What?" Richard asked innocently with a shrug as she called his drinking methods a head start.
"I'm bigger than you." He said, as if that were the perfect excuse. Actually, as she had mentioned, she didn't drink much before this apparently.
Then Nae explained about the house, which was starting to make more sense, but Richard didn't really know what it would really look like if someone did live in it either...
"Oh. Weird. I was starting to wonder though, because I didn't think it looked normal, but then, I've never stepped into a house this small before either" he said with a laugh and a shrug.
And then they got the really interesting bit of information. Nae's room was down the hall from him. Convenient.
"Well you don't look like a Prince, soo duh" Richard said, bumping her back wit his arm.
"At least I don't need to go very far if I'd like some company during my stay then eh? Especially if the princess doesn't surface any time soon." he said, the last part sounding pretty moot point with the way he put it.
Richard listened as she talked about liking it out here away from everyone.
He shrugged.
"I guess it's alright if you're with good company. But I'm not much of a solitary man myself." Richard said, looking around the room. He couldn't imagine what he would want to do here if he wasn't with Nae right now. What the hell did she do when she came out here alone? Be bored? Seriously.
Richard drank more of his wine and looked to see how she was coming along and got distracted by her swinging legs. Slender, and... yes. She had a really nice body. Tiny enough to through around, but with curves.
'Cause I took that s**t out.

"I'm not a prince? Well, s**t." Nae laughed, sipping at her wine. "Here I was living my life thinkin' I was Prince Kanae ruler of this little cottage!" She shook her head, rolling her eyes. "But yes sir. I'll be nearby, usually..." Occasionally she had to return home, but her father hardly noticed her disappearing anymore. He had a whole kingdom to run after all.
"Hopefully she returns. I mean, I hope she isn't hurt..." Nae really was concerned. It had been a long time. Surely if she had returned they would have been found by now... Which could happen at any time. She really needed to make this time count. Who knew when she would get this alone time with him. Aruna would have to be around more when she returned. As long as she wasn't... dead.
No. No. She wasn't that dumb. Jeez.
Okay.
Kanae shook her head. "I've always been more on the solitary side. Too much attention, too much spotlight, I don't know. You don't ever just wanna hear yourself think?" Nae shrugged, realizing she was tip toeing some pretty serious ground. Maybe she needed to cool it.
She drank a few more sips of her wine before sliding off of the counter. Clearly, she was babying her foot as she walked over to the fridge. She knew it wasn't heavily stocked, but it had some odds and ends. Like her new favorite thing ever- Ice Cream. Aruna's face when she first had her ice cream freak out was priceless. Trying to play that one off was not easy. But she wasn't really hungry. Nae was picking through the stuff in the fridge, bending over, trying to think of something interesting to do here. It was obvious Prince snooty pants needed constant entertainment. She whipped around, shutting the doors to the fridge suddenly.
"Aruna showed me this thing.. uh, I don't remember what it's called. Some sort of box in there. It has games, you wanna maybe hold a wager," She wiggled her glass of wine, dancing over to him. "And play some sort of game they have?" Yeah! That was fun. Her and Aruna spent hours playing some sort of driving game with guns and... those streetwalker ladies. Hookers? Whatever they were called.
Nae snatched the bottle of wine and danced into the living room, expecting him to follow.
I've been so wrapped up in my warm cocoon.,
But somethings happening things are changing soon. I'm pushing the edge..
Feeling it crack and once I get out,There's no turning b a c k,
Watching the butterfly go towards the sun...

Richard smirked as Nae played along with him. Those that did usually got a lot farther with him in general.
But it was good to have her nearby... especially if she had one of those back decks that connected to the beach.
The Princess' safety and return was brought up. Well, this was Aruna's friend afterall... Richard did need to make sure he remembered that, particularly with how uncaring he had been so far. Although that hadn't been a problem either.
But while in depth thinking wasn't his strong suit, Richard did need to make sure that if he did try to make a move on Nae, that she wouldn't run away and straight to the princess telling her all about it.
"I'm sure she is fine. I've heard enough about the princess to know she is smart and determined, right?"
That should do it, eh?
The plain truth was he just... really didn't care. Maybe if he had met her and enjoyed her company that would be different, but as things stood, he didn't. And he didn't really care if this alliance went through either, as long as it wasn't his fault it fell through. If it was, he would never hear the end of it back home. Of course, he understood why the alliance was important, and how it would be beneficial, but his priorities were currently still more personal than practical.
Richard outright laughed when Nae explained her "solitary side."
He shook his head. "Nope. I don't get it. I prefer action."
It wasn't that he didn't think, but to be alone, just to think especially? Why?
When Nae finally came up with something to do, which was good, as Richard had been getting antsy, he gave her the weirdest look.
"Do you mean a game console?" he asked, eyebrow raised, as he followed her into the next room.
"Oh yeah, playstation." he said, nodding toward the PS3 near the TV.
"You really must be backwoods if this is new to you" he said, again not caring how rude that might sound... but seriously. Who hadn't heard of a playstation unless? Ya know, aside from some old people.... and and like underdeveloped people and s**t.
And uuuh, Nae was not underdeveloped by any means... he thought, as he checked her out again.
Okay, he knew that wasn't what that meant, but still.
"So this s**t is new to you and you want to wager?" he asked, then added, "Never mind, why am I questioning that. Name your terms and game girl. This is not new to me." he warned.
Now, Richard definitely was more about getting out and doing things than playing video games, but they had actually been his sanctuary when he had been forbidden from going outside, which had happened countless times while growing up. Usually... okay pretty much always, because he had been getting into trouble, including endangering his own life.
And then he played co-op with friends sometimes, which usually got really loud, courtesy of his custom speakers.

Nae shrugged. "If action is what you prefer, action is what you shall receive sir." Nae winked as the television lit up, brought to life by the... button thing that Richard was holding. "Backwoods?" Nae cocked her head to the side, looking at him strangely from her place on the couch. "I'm not sure what you mean by that but sure." She shrugged, not taking offense to it because she simply didn't understand what that meant. "It's not that its new..." What had she told Aruna? "I'm an only child. Gaming consoles were not my thing that's all." She shrugged again, sipping at her wine as she pointed to the screen. "The game we played before is already in." She patted the empty spot on the couch. "It may be new but I was doing really great when I played last time." She didn't have electronics... clearly, since she lived under the sea. It was a whole new world to her. Living under water was basically the equivalent to Richard's backwoods reference. "We can switch off and on. Whoever survives the longest in a round doesn't have to drink. I'm not sure how the drinking game rules go, so you can apply your knowledge there. But lets call a round two rounds each. Your turn ends if you die or if the police getcha." Nae handed the controller to him, "You're up!"

"I'm sure we can get him something he'll absolutely love. He was, in fact, one of my heros." She smiled. There was more city to go through, then they would hit coastline. That sounded good to Calli. Things looked a little better, home wise. The houses around here weren't as run down, a little bigger. But still nothing in comparison to the palace grounds. Then they were walking down a path, which was littered in trash. Calli stuck her nose up, smelling the muck. "This is horrific. How do people live here?" She watched each step, making sure she avoided anything that would mess her up flats. "No kidding," She replied in response to him telling her people weren't too keen on cleaning up.
Then they happened upon a homeless man. As if the broken beer bottles, bags rolling along, and trash in general wasn't bad enough. This man had a shopping cart and seemed to be passed out on a tattered blanket. "Why is he sleeping outside, Nic?" She questioned, having never seen a homeless person. Hell, she had learned about it... But she didn't know that existed in their kingdom. Why? If she could have such a lavish lifestyle why were her people suffering? The photos from before didn't picture this.
"He's homeless." Cal answered her own question with a sad look. "I've never even been without a bed. How sad." They continued on their way, as dusk was upon them.
Lost in thought about her city, Calli was brought back to reality as a strand of hair was pulled lose from her side braid. "Oh! Ow!" It didn't hurt so much, which she showed when she giggled afterwards. "Oh, Abu!" She shook her head, wiggled her finger at him, and smiled at Nic. "It's fine. My Thor likes to nuzzle his big ole head into my hair, it's always messing it up. They walked along the beach further. "The water doesn't even look too clear around here. That's simply unacceptable. I can't believe my father lets this go on. He mustn't know. There's no way he knows it's like this out here and allows it." Calli shook her head in disbelief. "This place used to be so pretty, I have my mothers old photos." Her mother enjoyed her life through a camera lens, which Cal was thankful for. It was like she had pieces of her mother all saved in albums. "How much further is the palace? I'm sure they're awfully worried, and I'm late for dinner. So late. Father is not going to be happy." Though, she knew she wouldn't be in too much trouble. Her plan was to simply tell him she wanted to see her city and ended up lost. That's when Nic swooped in and saved her, which meant he deserved a reward. Him and Abu both.
It would all work out beautifully. Surely the prince was entertained. And she was sure that Nae would explain they got split up, guards were probably swarming the area she had been at now. But this walk with Nic wasn't so bad either. After all, she was seeing what she wanted to see- Her city.
That's when her ballet flat slid a bit, causing her to stumble. The only problem was that the litter she tripped on, tore her shoe a bit. Not bad enough to cause her to be barefoot. But bad enough to complain about. "Oh hell! Now I'll have to throw these out." Calli cursed, shaking her head, and then shaking the gunk off her foot. "Gross." She scoffed, then muttered, "How do people live this way?" She'd need a shower and a change of clothes by the time they got to the palace, that was for sure.

 Nic watched as the Princess observed the homeless man and actually asked him why he was laying out there at first. But then she seemed to get it so Nic said nothing.
At least Calli didn't totally freak out when Abu started picking at her hair, but Nic moved a little further away, and made Abu switch shoulders at least for now.
As expected, there was a lot more commenting on the dirty beach. He shrugged. "I don't know, it's always been like this while I've been around. But I think some things have gotten worse lately."
He didn't know what the king did or didn't allow, but Nic also figured it didn't matter much to someone so powerful and comfy all up in the big palace. But of course he wouldn't say such aloud.
She wanted to know how quickly they were going to get to the palace, well... this was going to take less time than going through, the city but... "This is the fastest way, but it's still maybe 2 hours at least." Probably more.
Things were not easy around here though, which is what the Princess was clearly seeing for the first time.
"It's not easy sometimes, but if you're smart and you find a way to work you can make it." he said, shrugging. Hey, at least he had a simple story already if she got around to asking what he did.
Out of nowhere, the Princess went tumbling and Nic ran over to try and catch her with a hand to her back and caught her arm. He steadied her, and then let go, not wanting to.... He didn't even know... dirty her with his touch? She was already so pissed off anyway. And yet, she was also so... easy to look at.
She went on about having to throw her shoes out and Nic glanced down at his. They were not in good shape at all, but still holding together. Yeah he had no comment there either.
"Ow" Nic mouthed, turning toward Abu, who had poked him almost in the ear with.... Holy hell.
"Abu!" he yell-whispered, and grabbed something out of his little hands and peaked at it again. It was a ******** diamond-encrusted hair pin. Briefly he seriously considered pocketing it, because he didn't think Calli had seen what he had yet, and it's not like it would really affect her anyway! <******** um.... Princess uh, Calliope, I am so sorry. Abu.... he likes shiny things." Nic said after making sure no one was too close to them on the beach, holding the hairpin in the palm of his hand out to the ******** hell. Why? The only thing that's been on my mind

"Action is what I prefer." Richard confirmed, though he was thinking about something else entirely as he looked back at her as things got turned on.
Nae explained why he wasn't used to these things, and Richard really just did like a mental shrug, though he still found it strange. Only child or not.
"Alright, well let's go cap some hookers then eh?" Richard said, taking the controller and sitting back on the couch... directly in the middle of it, legs all spread out, so that there was only just room for Nae to slide in on either side.
"You know this isn't going to be as much fun if I don't drink" he teased as the game got started up.
"I've never played a drinking game with this game before, but... I mean I've gotten drunk and played it sure, but let's see... Pour two glasses of wine, and if one person get's an achievement, or takes out an online ********, drink - it's just wine, one drink. And then whoever loses on surviving like you said can down a glass... that should work right?" he wanted them both to be drinking the whole time really. Yeah, that sounded like a plan. He guessed he didn't want to be too drunk for the dinner they had going on, but kind of drunk sounded nice. But especially the before part when him and Nae were both drunk here....
Richard got the game going and started out guns blazing. He had a somewhat risky and confrontational style... meaning he killed a lot of people, including nailing a number of online people trying to kill him... before he got blown up in a helicopter by one, most likely bent on revenge.
"Aaaah!" Richard threw the controller... at a misplaced couch pillow... and then was ********. Well. It was about time. Go girl." he said, stretching out to reach the controller for her first.
She should have a good buzz going after all those sips... so he refilled her glass, though he was the one that was on the pyre next.

Call's mouth dropped at the words- two hours. She held up her leg to check out the shoe again, hobbling a bit to keep up. Then he stopped her to give her her hairpin back. Oh! "Why thank you Abu." She started to take it, then shook her head. "I only have about a billion of those back at home. Why doesn't little Abu hold onto it, since he likes it so much." She shrugged. What was another lost bobby pin anyways? "And call me Calli, really. Calliope is so..." She shrugged then closed his hand back around the pin, nodding to hand it to his pet. "Lets keep moving, then." She sighed heavily, continuing to walk along the beach. If it wasn't so freaking disgusting she would probably take her shoes off, squish her toes in the sand, and enjoy the walk. But this wasn't a beach. This was a landfill.
For a while they were silent, Calli mulled over her surroundings in her mind. Her mother had painted a very different world for her, a time no one seemed to remember here. A long lost history. She wished she had grown up with her mother, been able to see this world when it was still beautiful. Maybe things would have been different.
"Tell me something, Nic." Calli knew no real boundaries. "Are you seeing anybody?" She glanced sideways at him as they walked along, admiring Abu as he fingered her diamond pin, then turning back to walk as if she twisted her ankle or something, when really it was just a messed up shoe.

"Way to not leave me any room!" She rolled her eyes.
Nae squeezed into the spot on the couch, which ended in her resting one leg by hanging it over Richards. The other was propped up at the knee.
Kanae laughed, cap some hookers? She shook her head, then took another sip of her wine, which was starting to get low. She was proud, she still felt okay. A little tipsy, but okay enough. Hopefully.
"Oh shut up. I think with those rules you'll be singing and dancing kind of drunk, mister prince." She stuck her tongue out at him, raising her glass towards the television. He began to play, taking out a good number of people and online people. Nae was drinking the majority of her wine away...
And then he got blown up. Kanae laughed out loud, then allowed him to refill her glass before she set it down.
Her fingers barely brushed his as she took the controller, and yet her heart still raced. "You're alright, I mean I guess." She shrugged as she respawned near the area he died at.
"Get ready to drink, baby." Kanae had learned her best shot at kills was to find a good alleyway, or balcony to shoot down her enemies. Nae wasn't very good at multitasking anyways. But running or driving while shooting people down just wasn't in her cards. She nailed three online people as soon as she perched in her balcony. "HA! Drink drink it up!" Yes, she was doing just as well as she had the last time she came out here to play alone a couple days ago.
For fun, she shot down a few bystanders, then ducked down. A little dot wandered along her map, nearing her location. Then a couple more dots popped up... Then a couple more. The game was clearly a full set. s**t.
Nae's heart raced, she leaned forward. They gained on her street, she stood, and starting firing them down. It was a suicide mission, that was for sure.
However, she managed to take down four more guys before getting nailed. This ended with her lifeless body tumbling off the balcony. "That was sick!" She cried out, laughing and tossing the controller towards Richard.
"I went out fighting man! Respect." The curly brunette flashed a cute smile at Richard before taking another good drink of wine. "Fill me up!"

Nic's mouth almost dropped at the Princess' response. He had been half expecting her to get angry or, or something.
Instead she gave it to Abu. She had a 'billion' of those back home.
Why the ******** had he tried giving it back to her in the first place?
And yet... there was just something weird, but almost nice, about the fact that he had tried to give it back to her and he still had it. Even as Nic had opened his hand, holding it out to her, he had felt a tightness in his chest, as his body and mind seemed to work separately. He supposed it was just wrong to steal from someone he had saved and was trying to help... wrong even for him, but it had still been going against his nature. His instinct!
Nic gave the hairpin back to Abu for appearances sake, but he was thinking, sorry buddy, you are not keeping that.
But he wasn't too worried it would disappear. No, and if it did, Nic knew where the little brat would stash it. It had to be worth at least a couple hundred dollars alone.
"Thank you..." Nic said absently, looking at the princess out of the corner of his as they walked. He stumbled a little bit at her next question, cleared his throat briefly and kept walking, trying to act like nothing had happened.
"Um. No. Not... right now. A-" He almost said, 'are you?' back before he realized what an incredibly dumb question that would be.
Yeah you know.... the princess who was kept under tight guard within the castle grounds and was now betrothed to the Prince of Andor across the sea.... are you seeing anyone?
Instead he just clamped his mouth shut, hoping he didn't look like as much of an idiot as he felt, and avoided her eyes.
Yeah, that same prince which was surely here by now... getting ready for the fancy dinner the princess had mentioned, no doubt. Where he would meet the same Princess walking next to Nic here right now, trudging through the beach in her poor messed up shoe.
Why was that frustrating?
He still had at least two more hours to go of this weird s**t and then he would dump her, get this reward she promised, and get back to his life. And never see her again.
That was fine.
As they walked, the beach very gradually started getting slightly cleaner and there was a couple more people out still, though it would be unsurprising if the Princess didn't notice the difference yet. But the closer you got to the castle, the nicer... everything got, really, the beach included. The only thing that's been on my mind

"It's been awhile" Richard jokingly excused himself when Nae backhand complimented him.
By the time Richard had died, Nae's glass had been down again, and he had lasted pretty long.
But now it was his turn to drink as much as she could make him, and he didn't mind.
"I'm always ready to drink." he said, pouring himself more wine to prove his point.
It wasn't long before Richard just held the glass in his hand - sip, sip.... sip... okay well he wasn't very good at "sipping" so he had to refill again and was down once more by the time she was done.
"Damn girl!" he laughed, smacking her leg which was propped over his, as she cried out excitedly over her final loss.
Man, she was funny. Richard had been watching her facial expressions and reactions more than the game itself.
Richard downed the rest of his glass, rather than trying to count out the last several guys she killed before dying.
"With pleasure. You're going to need it!" he said, pouring more wine into her glass, and then his.
"You ready for this?" he asked, looking at her with one eyebrow raised, before turning back to the game and respawning.
His next plan was purely intended for destructive purposes.
Keeping an eye on the map, Richard briefly avoided any of the red dots, only having to kill a couple of people that charged at him, while he looted mainly for explosives until he found a rocket launcher. That hadn't taken very long because he had focused his efforts, and was quickly driving along the street in a car he'd just jacked - near a police car which was now tailing him, shooting anyone and everyone he saw, players and AI's alike.
He especially focused on going after each red dot, shooting (or throwing grenades) just enough to get them pissed off into following him when he drove away.
Before long, he had a trail of cop cars and players trying to murder the s**t out of him, while he zigzagged his way along, health getting lower and lower... He had had to switch cars before it blew up on him and almost died in the process.
And then he started throwing explosive after explosive behind him when his second car was so ******** up he knew it would blow up any second, and then jumped out, hiding behind whatever s**t he could find.
Oooooh god, if they had been playing with voice chat, he would have had soooo many people pissed off and screaming at him with the way he had gone about things.
There was more people coming at him from all sides by then, so he set off the rocket launcher on a path with the most people (and cops) to destroy, and let the explosives rain around him until he got blown up himself.
SWEET. Richard had seriously been hoping he wouldn't just go down to the end of his health and die, which had been getting seriously ******** YEAH!" Richard yelled, the controller flying out of his hand and into the wall, but it didn't break.
"So I think I lost the time battle thing. But DRINK THAT s**t." he said, with a humorous intensity, pointing at her drink, before swiping up his own and chugging it. There was no way Nae would have been able to keep track of every person he killed once he got to his version of GTA Armageddon.
Yeah, the whole thing had really not lasted that long, but that hadn't been his intention... Richard used to see how many people he could piss off, and massacre all at once, because he found it endlessly more amusing than almost anything else in this game.
It was Nae's turn again, but the controller was not within reach, and Richard was still way too amused with himself to notice.
'Cause I took that s**t out.

Calli really thought nothing of giving away her bobby pin, it seemed like the thing to do after all. If she wanted to change things around here, she would have to start small anyways.
"That's unfortunate. You are a nice guy." Calli smiled a bit before side stepping around more garbage. Things were getting better, but she didn't notice. It was still disgusting in her mind. "I have a good friend, the one I was with earlier, Nae. She isn't seeing anyone either." Calli made a disgusted noise as she observed a man walking along smoking. It wasn't as subtle as it needed to be, but the man didn't seem to notice. "Smoking makes absolutely no sense to me what so ever. It's a peasants thing to do." Calli thought aloud, looking back over her shoulder at the cloud of smoke coming from the man. Calli was hardly allowed to drink, even at her twenty first birthday party she was expected to be proper. A lot of important people were there after all. It was her duty as princess to provide a certain appearance. She knew that. It grew old after awhile, but it was her job.
"You and Abu will stay for dinner. I'm sure the cooks can whip him up something he'll enjoy. But you'll be starved after a hike like this. I couldn't imagine walking this much every day." Little did she know what she was really saying. "Then daddy will reward you and get a car to take you to your home."
As they continued along the beach something started to smell awful. Dreadful. "What in heavens is that smell? It's god awful!" She cried out, covering her mouth and nose with her wristlet. That's when they came upon a washed up carcass of a medium sized sea animal. It looked like it could be a shark, but it was so picked apart by savages that it was hard to tell what the mangled thing was. It just wreaked. "Oh my god!" Calli squealed then jumped, knocking Nic off the trail a bit. "How horrible! Why hasn't someone taken care of that?" She choked, then rushed Nic along, trying to flee the stench.

Kanae sipped at her drink absently while he ran about collecting things. It only took a couple of minutes for him to have a trail of cars behind him. She had kept up with his first few kills, then refilled her glass. Just in time too!
Nae didn't take one single drink a** the trail of people behind him lengthened and thickened. Her heart was racing, she actually leaned into him... towards the television. It was so intense! Just like watching those pictures on the television that Calli had shown her before... moves or something like that. It was intense!
He was so focused, every time she pulled her eyes from the screen to glance at him. His smirk rested on his face as he shot with precision. She watched his health level decrease as he barrel rolled out of his car just as it exploded, and switched cars. Nae was muttering words of encouragement, clearly interested in the situation. "C'mon!" Even though he was the enemy in this situation, it was too exciting. She wanted him to nail these guys. Or at least die a cool death. Those were always fun.
That's when a launcher sent an explosive into the mass of people. "NO WAY!" She shook her head, then cheered. "That was amazing!" Nae obliged to his request to 'drink that s**t' by downing her entire glass of wine, then she tossed the empty glass to the carpet floor. It didn't shatter, just rolled away.
Nae laughed as he chugged a full glass as well. Then she jumped onto her knees and excitedly wiggled in a sort of dancing way. "That was so cool!" She shook her head in disbelief. "Hand me the bottle!" She reached over him anyway, grabbing it from beside him on the floor. Which involved her body pressing against his... And she had never felt that surge in her body before. Her breath hitched, she slowly moved back to her place on her knees with the half empty bottle in hand. Nae's eyes met Richards before she lifted the glass to her lips and took a swig from the bottle.
Her heart was racing, her cheeks were lightly flushed from the alcohol... and the brushing up against Richard. Nae cleared her throat, doing her best to avoid his eyes now as she handed the bottle back. The controller laid, forgotten, on the floor across the room.
I've been so wrapped up in my warm cocoon.,
But somethings happening things are changing soon. I'm pushing the edge..

Nae seriously was a great audience/cheerleader for GTA.
After his triumph, Richard set his wine glass down and cracked his knuckles. "I always love doing that." he said, smirking at Nae. Then she was leaning over him to grab the wine bottle. He took this opportunity to lean his face in slightly, smelling her hair and almost brushing her face with his as she backed up with the bottle in hand.
He had been close enough to hear the hitch in her breath, knowing he was having an effect on her... and she was having one on him. Richard was having a great time actually, even though they weren't even doing much right now. And he could feel the buzz.
Richard locked eyes with Nae, taking the bottle back without breaking eye contact right up until he took a swig himself, closing his eyes as he did so.
He set the bottle down, as far away from them as he could reach, and then moved closer to Nae, swiped a piece of hair back from her cheek- and hand still cupping the side of her face, he kissed her.
Richard had already known he wanted to have sex with her. But that he needed to be careful all things considered. And maybe this was too soon. But what the hell?
Not that he expected to get sex out of this kiss, but well, in that exact moment he hadn't really thought beyond wanting to kiss her right then.
'Cause I took that s**t out.
