Lol. I just came up with a few good scenarios in my mind for my characters as the story unfolds. And a little bit of a change-up for Saito's character, but it's a good change. You'll see what I mean when I post tomorrow.

Question: I'm not sure if it's a custom to the Japanese school system, but do they have school dances? I would really like to do a school dance event for Gekko at some point.

I don't think so, but then there are some abnormalities in this setting that aren't consistent with a Japanese school anyway. Isn't the school name Gakko, not Gekko?

closest thing to school dances in Japan is like.. the school fesitival. ya know, where each class does something special, either make some sort of food booth, or put on a play, or cafe, or haunted house ( ya get the idea). ppl who are excused from doing a class project are those belonging to large enough clubs who plan on putting on their own large scale activity, such as a band club to perform a few songs, or a theater club to do a skit.
Another school activity that all of the school does together is i think called.. field day? or well.. is similar tot he field days done in elementary school in the US. in all honesty, just go watch anime such as K-On or Azumanga Daioh. they'll teach you a good chunk of what to expect of stereotypical Japanese school life. lol.
In all honesty though, with the crazy rate of foreigners this school seems to get, I don't see why this school couldn't have some foreign concepts in it much like foreign transfer schools tend to do. -shrug- hope that helped alittle.

Wait, wait a second!
I thought Jacob was in 3-B, and Kairi and others were in 3-C. You guys are seriously confusing me, people keep switching classes.
Also a side note: Cherry blossoms bloom in late winter (January) till the beginning of April... Just so you know. And typically, Japanese schools start in April, not in the Fall months such as August or September. Yea, so. Went nerdy for a second. And if you want to get technical, Winter sakura bloom in the fall. (And continue until late winter.)
