Luke smirks, closing his eyes, " naa, you see... second squad of our platoon aren't just riflemen and snipers... the snipers are actually, well, the technical term is scout snipers... their main purpose is to scout and recon, not always sniper. If that makes sense." Luke explained, turning to the side and looking out at the horizon. Then looks back to Evelyn, his face a little more stern, " Don't worry, nothin is gonna happen... besides, your little sister will protect you~" Luke said serious at first, but then jokingly, holding his hands together up to his chest. Taking the opportunity to haggle the corporal some.

Evelyn suddenly glares at Luke, then Tarlotte, frustrated and annoyed. "YOU know that's not what I meant, Luke, so there's no excuse for you. And besides, she's my co-worker and comrade-in-arms, nothing more." She crosses her arms and stares sternly at Tarlotte, sympathetic yet serious. "I didn't mean I was concerned about dying, I meant that it would be difficult and we would probably suffer a lot of losses if we were attacked with so few men."

Sgt. Damewood, Luke. 2/5 Fox Co.'BlackHearts' Plt. Sgt. Luke laughs some, knowing what she meant, but seeing that he has to try and be the 'encouragement' in this situation. Now just crossing his arms, " I know I know... but ... heh, I suppose so... but still, we won't loose anyone, because we won't... rather, can't be attacked, I think you forgot what happened when we first flew in here, remember, the AICompany turret defence systems that nearly shot us down." Luke says with a small snicker, remembering their near death encounter when first landing at the island. Offering a smile, " So it'll be fine... all we need to do is hurry up and wait for the rest to arrive."

Tarlotte tilts her head slightly and listens to Luke and Evelyn's responses to her "Evelyn...how would us suffer lot of losses if only three of us at here?"her statements are not to be rude...but because she is used to things being logical...and as such she 'calls it out' so to say, if something seems illogical or doesn't seem to make sense she walks over towards Luke, then leans down and looks him in the eyes "How hurry and wait...?"Tarlotte then walks slowly into the shallower area of the water, to about ankle-depth and looks at them both and attempts a reassuring smile with her eyes** "If attack happen...Tarlotte will fight"she attempts to reassure them that she will be enough to stop them from losing if something were to attack, she is aware that she has strength and speed rather beyond a human...however...she does not realize that Luke and Evelyn may not even be aware of how strong she is ((**for reference, the expression she is attempting resembles this))

Evelyn shrugs exasperatedly and rolls her eyes at the two of them, then puts her hands on her hips. "I meant that we might lose other people. And 'hurry up an wait' is just an expression. It doesn't mean explicitly what it says."

Sgt. Damewood, Luke. 2/5 Fox Co.'BlackHearts' Plt. Sgt. Luke laughed a little to himself at the conversation.... " Well... sometimes higher ups will ask you to hurry up somewhere, cause you're needed... but once you get there, usually you weren't needed right away, so you end up hurrying up to wait... ... but it'll all be good, and if something does happen, we'd be able to handle any musket firing spear throwin natives right?" Luke said, then flopping back into the water again with his arms out to the side making a splash. Luke disappearing under the water for a while... then resurfacing once again, but no sound coming form him, like an alligator, only the top of his head and barely his nose showing.

Tarlotte nods in response to Evelyn, but a bit distantly, still not understanding how they anticipated losses that weren't one of them if they were attacked while they were the only ones there really.
she turns towards Luke and has an expression that seems a little serious
"so what luke do if lot of spear throwing at him at once?"
Tarlotte was aware that the island was more advanced than just a bunch of people throwing spears, but nonetheless, her analytic half urged her to call him out on the confidence that was likely unprepared for fighting an opponent outside of human 'normality'...yet her question would be more applicable to a group of primitive humans from a continent elsewhere in the world

it almost seemed as if her analytic half refused to comment in her mind, perhaps it found her question too invalid to bother processing
Tarlotte looks around a bit then rubs her head, she felt confused by herself right now, and tries to figure out if she should say something else to try to change the topic now, but she was at a loss due to her human half being left alone without an advisory of what to say

Sgt. Damewood, Luke. 2/5 Fox Co.'BlackHearts' Plt. Sgt. Luke furrowed his brows, but kept just barely sticking out of the water only enough for his nose to breath. Luke looks up at Tarlotte again, and he knew she had a point, but he was trying to keep from thinking about the task at hand and relax, if for but only a little. Luke raised out just enough for only his head to be out of the water. " Tarlotte... I realize that they have more technology than what we're led on to believe, but i have to think about how I will say things, especially when the troops show up... the last colonization we partook in, wasn't quite a colonization of natives or nothin.... we kind of, made disappear, an entire race that honestly was a step ahead of us... ... to be honest, I'd rather not have to go through another colonization, ... invade, occupy, then police the entire thing while contractors come in and start building up industry, while we slowly flush out the natives... that how it works." Luke found himself almost ranting, but he just sunk back down in the water to just below his nose.

Evelyn became quiet, staring off in the distance and lost in thought about something or other. I swore to myself that I wouldn't take part in such atrocities again... But I also have a family to provide for back home so I can't just desert if that happens either... She sighs internally, ignoring everything around her for the moment.

Tarlotte nods, understanding the way the situation may seem unfortunate to both sides
she begins walking deeper into the water, suppressing her breath, she walks until she is about 10 feet below the surface of the water and looks at Luke from there
hmm...I wonder how they act if...
she takes her sword from her waist and holds it in one hand and begins processing a location
she swings the sword forcefully, causing a jet of water to surge from the water beside Luke
the surge of water was thin and long like the path of her swing, basically like a wall of water before it stopped at about four feet above the water and then the water fell, pouring down over Luke. this was of course Tarlotte attempting to play around with them

'Kyoka' watched them from a distance for a bit longer before she walked back towards the building, increasing the distance between them to the point where even if they turn to her direction, it would be hard to make out the appearance of her
she was simply bored, but had no intention of being seen by them or of approaching Tarlotte right now

Sgt. Damewood, Luke. 2/5 Fox Co.'BlackHearts' Plt. Sgt. Luke just floated, and watched, his eyes just following Tarlotte as she walked and disappeared under the water. Two seconds went by before Luke finally raised up some and looked down trying to see where Tarlotte went. "HOLY S***!--" Luke was turned over and spun one time in the water before he surfaced. raising up quickly, and looking to Evelyn making sure she was ok. "What was that!?!"

Evelyn's contemplation is interrupted by a loud splash from behind her, and when she turns to look at it, she witnesses a wall of water nearly drown Luke. She smiles at his overreaction, but isn't in the mood to laugh very hard. "I believe that was Tarlotte messing with you," she says matter-of-factly and looks down to where Tarlotte was. "You'd think you'd be able to take a joke by now."

Tarlotte, still under the water, moves her arms around a bit, she is too dense to float, but at the same time, if you don't float, you can move on the bottom of the water more easily.
she looks at Luke and Evelyn from her position underwater, given the water made them wavy silhouettes
but she was able to pick up their words from underwater, after all, sound travels well through water, human ears just aren't made to pick up on it as well underwater, but she could. Tarlotte smiled faintly at Luke's seeming over-reaction compared to Evelyn being calm and assuming Tarlotte did it.
she began walking back towards the shore, and continues until she reaches a depth where it it up to her waist after she sits down in the water and she looks at Luke and Evelyn again, wondering what they thought.

Luke turned quickly to Tarlotte who surfaced and looked to them. "Tarlotte... how'd you do that hun... you nearly launched me outta the water~" He stated smiling and rubbing the back of his head.

Evelyn giggles at Luke's cluelessness and smiles at him uncharacteristically warmly. "Isn't it obvious? She did it with her robotic strength and stuff. Are you really that thick?"
