Little did Elaine know that the branch she had settled on was very close to dying from the recent lack of rain. She heard a loud creaking and looked around.
SNAP!
The sudden lack of force keeping her in the air made Elaine yell in surprise. She wasn't too far from the ground but it still hurt her bottom. She groaned and saw that Dean had followed her. She swallowed afraid that Elenore would show herself or something. "Today is just not my day," she said to him and got to her feet with a grimace. She started to dust herself off and checked her butt for grass stains. She was clear. However, her nerves were still jumpy so she wasn't sure if she could handle a conversation with Dean properly.

Silver heard the crack of the branch, but, as she hadn't been paying attention, hadn't gotten quite far enough to catch Elaine, despite her superior reflexes and the fact that she started speeding towards the tree the moment she heard the branch start to break. She peered around Dean, who was about four feet away, and saw Elaine stand up and dust herself off. Satisfied that the girl was okay, Silver started to turn away, then turned back. She had the feeling that whatever this spirit was that was haunting Elaine, the girl wanted to tell Dean about it. And Silver was curious.
She wouldn't tell anyone anything she was about to overhear, because she knew the value of a secret. But she also knew the value of knowing someone else's secret. If she stood just so, she knew Dean wouldn't notice her. She just had to hope that Elaine wouldn't, either. If she did, then Silver would have to be quick on her feet for a good response.

Elaine saw Silver. When on edge her senses were sharper than usual, most likely from instincts. The sight of her put her more on edge and she turned and walked deeper into the woods hopping over underbrush here and there as she tried to avoid a potentially disastrous dilemma. Elenore appeared for a moment in front of them and waved as her image remained stable but moved in the direction Elaine went as if she only existed where her sister did. She's very unhappy with me, Elenore said before being yanked into the forest as if by an invisible cord.
A growl came from Elaine as Elenore returned again. You're a lot more attractive than I thought you would be Dean, Elenore commented with a smirk. "LENORE!" Elaine yelled and started to come back through the undergrowth. Do be polite Elaine. There's no need to be upset. We've met now. Hello Dean, I'm Elenore, Elaine's older sister.
Elaine came out of the forest and looked at the apparition of her sister. "I really don't want to do this right now," she murmured. It's now or never, Elenore pointed out. Don't you want me out of your head?
Pain ripped through Elaine's head. "Stop it," she cried out and held her head to her knees. We were supposed to stay together! Elenore shrieked. Elaine pulled at her hair. "You were never alive! You were still born. It isn't my fault that I didn't die," Elaine said trying to keep things together. Why else would I be here if you weren't supposed to die? Elenore pointed out with a sneer. "Just leave me alone," Elaine replied frightened and out of breath. "Please..."

Dean watched Elaine intently. He could hear something else, someone else. Dean was used to supernatural happenings but sometimes it still surprised him. " Your older sister?" he asked Elaine.
***** Emily turned to Sam who was still on the phone. She could hear him talking as well as thinking. "Okay, calm down. Where are you?" Sam asked. Dad.... Emily walked over to Sam and touched his shoulder. He jumped so it was obvious that he was very focused on both his thoughts and the conversation.

"She's technically not older since she was never ALIVE!!!" Elaine yelled at Elenore who was cackling now and appearing in one place then disappearing and appearing again all over the small clearing.
Elenore eventually appeared directly in front of Dean. I've never kissed a boy before you know, she said to him. A ghostly hand reached out towards his face. I've never been in love either. Never been with a man. It's not fair that my sister can live. That she can touch you.
A yell came up from out of Elaine's chest as she rushed to the apparition of her sister and drove what looked like a nail through her head down to the ground. The ghostly light became a flickering orb as Elaine panted heavily from exhaustion. Strange sounds like muffled yells came from the orb. Elaine stood up and looked at Dean and showed him another nail. "Spirit pin," she explained. "Keeps a ghost from moving for a certain amount of time. It's like a charm." She moved her hair back from her face and raised her eyebrows as she pocketed the pin. She made no comment on what her sister's ghost had said even though she always felt guilty about it.

Dean was speechless. He had noticed how shook up Elaine was about her "sister" and that she seemed pretty pissed. Dean smirked a bit and said,"Soooo.....you okay?" He put his hands in the pockets of his worn, dark jacket and raised his eyebrows. Dean exhaled a bit and looked back at Elaine.
********
Emily watched Sam curiously as he continued to talk to the woman on the other line. His face was contorted in a pained face of reminiscence. "Are you alright, Sam?" she asked.

The muscles in Elaine's jaw flexed several times as she looked down at the orb pinned to the earth and swallowed. "I'm okay for now," she replied. "But until she "passes on" she'll just keep coming back." She took a breath and then shook her head. "I've tried everything I can. Salting and burning her body, even surrounding myself with salt." She shrugged hopelessly. "She walks right through it." She clenched her teeth in thought for a moment. "It's almost like she's attached to me."
Elaine failed to hide her fear as she looked off into the woods. The question that burned forever in her: What if the only way for her to move on is for me to die? It was a crippling burning fear. By comparison she hid her fear quite well.

"I'm in Stillman Valley Illinois. I...i...in the Holiday Inn hotel room 312. Please hurry. I'm so scared." Anne's words were only stumbling out of her mouth. She was crying hysterically. The pain she felt was so overwhelming, too much. "Please help me!" She cried out while talking to Sam on the phone. She never felt so open and vulnerable. Like a raw nerve.

"Okay, okay. calm down. We will be there soon. Just..uh...stay put," Sam said. Emily looked at him curiously. "Are you okay, Sam?"she asked. He looked over at her and his eyes looked sad and urgent. "We have to go. Do you want to get Dean or should I do it?" Sam asked.Emily was momentarily confused before responding,"Umm...I'll go get him I guess..." Emily walked in the direction that Dean had went. Sam watched her walk away and realized she wasn't what he originally thought she was. Emily seemed to be hiding something else. ****** Dean looked at Elaine and smirked a bit. He liked her, too. There was something interesting about her besides the fact that she was being haunted by her still-born sister. Plus, she was hot. Dean heard a twig snap behind them and spun around quickly, shoving Elaine behind him. Emily appeared from the foliage and smirked a bit. Dean exhaled and smiled. "Oh hey. I thought you were something else," Dean said, trying to act like he wasn't a bit startled. Emily smirked again and said,"Come on, Dean. Sam just got a hunt and I guess I'm going with. Elaine, do you want to come, too?"

Silver was at a rather advantageous spot; she was close enough to hear Elaine and Dean talking, but also close enough to hear Sam talking to Emily. She gathered what was going on: they were leaving to go on a hunt, Sam was shaken up about something, Dean was a little freaked out by ghost-sister, Emily was rather nonchalant about ghost-sister, and Elaine was terrified that Dean wouldn't help her.
Meh. Humans....
Silver called out to Sam. "I'm gonna get my baby started up again, okay? You know where to go, so I'll follow behind. Emily and Elaine can follow us, too." She laughed as she looked at the four old muscle cars. "We're gonna look like we're on our way to a car show."
She got into her car, stroking the steering wheel and whispering, "Hello, sweetheart." She shrugged off the memory of the car's previous owner, then suddenly realized that she was surrounded by hunters. Shuddering, she hoped none of them recognized the car.

Sam looked over at Silver and nodded before saying,"Emily went off to find Dean....and Elaine I guess. So it's going to be a bit. So I guess we should just wait untill they all show up then. I think I see Emily." Sam squinted his eyes as he looked into the trees.
******* Emily didn't wait for a response and turned back towards the road. Her '67 Firebird was shining in the bright sunlight. She smiled as she looked over her baby. "Just one of the perks of being a Hunter, right Sam?"she said. Sam looked up at her as he leaned against the driver's side of the Impala. He smirked a bit and replied,"Dean would definately agree with you there. Speak of the devil..." Dean emerged from the forest and looked at the two of them. "Damn right it is," he said.

As the cars pulled back onto the road, Silver smiled at the music pouring out of each of them. She could hardly hear it for the wind rushing around her face as she drove with the top down. She turned on her own music and blasted Black Veil Brides, not caring if someone judged her for it - it was what she liked, and everyone else could just deal with it.
Since the road was deserted, Silver pulled up next to the Impala. After making eye contact with Dean, she revved her engine in a clear challenge. She waited for a second, until she could see the temptation take hold in the man's eyes and knew he would join the race, then put the pedal to the metal and began to speed away. She heard the Impala right behind her, and she laughed with the pure exhilaration that came only with fast cars and flying.

Dean smiled naughtily and Sam sighed. The Impala drafted behind the Corvette for a few seconds before overtaking it and speeding ahead. Emily smiled as she realized what the others were doing. The Firebird was probably by far the fastest car in the group. It was born to race. She revved her engine and sped up to the Corvette and Impala. She shouted in triumph as she passed both the Impala and Corvette in one swoop. A Metallica song blasted from her souped up speaker system and rang into the surrounding area. This was going to be a fun hunt.

Silver gunned her engine. She pushed the Vette to its limits, but the hunter before her had focused more on looks than speed, and she hadn't had enough money to make any upgrades. She edged up so that she was nose-to-nose with the Impala, and held that position as they both went full speed. Neither car could gain an advantage, and never mind the Firebird, which was just ahead of them, Emily's triumphant whoop barely audible over the music and the revving engines.

Elaine rolled her eyes as everyone seemed to be racing. Fords have awesome rear wheel drive. So she actually had the friction to take to the dirt on the side of the road and curve around the Vette and the Impala. Dirt flew against the windshield of the Impala as Elaine drove back up on the road. She pushed the gear into overdrive and drifted around the Firebird as easy as a fork through pie.
She smirked as she looked back in the rear view mirror at the others. "Know your cars and they'll work well," she said aloud to herself. "No one outdoes my Mustang. No one." She lifted up her chin and started to lead the way to Stillman Valley, Illinois. Of course eventually she'd have to let the others get in front of her again. She knew at least half the way though.
