Tika had listened to the story but had some trouble believing it. Which surprised her after all she had seen in halloween town and.. there was the matter of her own talking annoyance of a weapon. But still. She was left standing there a bit unsure what to believe. But she said nothing about her doubts.
Bixes comment about Robert shot her back to reality. Madisons defended him.. by calling him dumb? Was that really better? Tika smirked.
"Defending some one with an insult. Nice." Tika gave Madison a thumbs up. Really, Tika thought Madison was just being witty and appreciated that type of humor.

Madison's cheeks turned redder. "I, um... that came out wrong," she mumbled. "I mean, he... helped me when I needed it, and stuff. He's a good guy, even though... yeah." She gestured at the sword and the glowing barriers of light, feeling a bit like she wanted to crawl under the nearest protective piece of furniture and die. But there were greater concerns than if she'd just put her foot in her mouth or not. She had to keep that in mind...
"A-and it's okay, don't worry about it," she added, to Bix, after a moment.

Harrison waited impatiently through the History Lesson. This felt too much like school. What part of this was supposed to help them stay alive? They were fighting Big Foot and Casper, okay. Those guys fought each other too, big surprise. Then Dr. H. started talking weapons, and Harrison was all ears.
No one could bond with the legendary weapons? Harrison strained forward, seeing if he could hear something. A call, a chorus of angels.
He thought he heard something. But nothing from the sword or the staff. Deep from elsewhere, there was the creaking of a ship, straining wood and rope, the clack of a keyboard, and faraway ghostly laughter...
"I'm outta here," he said, goosebumps prickling up and down his arms. "...Anybody remember seeing an EXIT sign?"

As far as revelations went, Davey thought he shouldn't have been as surprised as he was. Azrael had told Davey about what he used to be, after all - most of the weapons seemed to have shared that information with their Hunters. Davey hadn't guessed that it would be quite so... dark a tale. Something begun by enslaving a living creature against its will, and no doubt still continuing. All the creatures and myths mentioned during Bix's party had been things Davey realised would normally live with the monsters that they were meant to hunt. There was no way that all of them had volunteered for this - more likely that none of them had.
"I'm surprised that more of the weapons aren't like the staff," Davey said, eyeing Robert where he crouched on the ground. "It seems like they should all hate us."
Well, all of them except Excalibur, perhaps. According the the doctor's tale, the legendary sword had been the one to create the Hunters, defecting to fight against the ones who had imprisoned it to begin with. And Excalibur was still helping them, according to the doctor, even if it was by powering various magical things rather than being held by human hands.
"I guess Merlin doesn't want anyone wielding it at all." Much like Azrael, who was uncommonly quiet in Davey's head right now. But even his Bitchblade had reached out to someone, much as he claimed to have not meant to.
Once again, Davey was unimpressed by Harrison. His reply was curt, tone flat. "Back up the stairs." To the others, especially those who'd spoken up in defense of Robert, like Madison, he asked, "Should we try moving him away?"
Could they, without being close enough to be affected themselves?

Jude had been listening to the instructor and when told to follow he got up and followed quite simply not really pausing to look down when met with an obstacle that was considered quite eye and with nothing to keep him from falling into it. He refused to look down or anywhere else but straight ahead though fear did clench at him. The youth didn't help the fellow Hunter that was captured up in fear over the fall not because he didn't feel sympathy for her but because others had come to her aid and helped push her along.
As long as there was no splattered mess at the bottom he assumed all was well.
The youth listened to the lecture given out staying quiet as he stared at his surroundings and eventually at the sword he felt curiosity well up within him almost straight away but he kept silent for the moment as he just listened to the lecturer go on about things like Arthur, Merlin, and Hunters seeding within his mind. He'd remembered the stories his mother used to tell him and his father used to scoff at saying they would only make Jude's 'overactive imagination' worse. His lips set in a thin annoyed line at the memory of his parents.
There was an interruption and suddenly a 'the end' drawing him back to reality and suddenly the instructor left. He drifted closer unable to really help himself - he wanted a better look and yet he didn't get too close he stayed just outside the outer shield staring quietly and thoughtfully, the buzzing of other trainees somewhere behind him.
'Do not getsss too close Pretty Jude.' Yom warned not really caring if he heeded her warning or not.
'I won't.'
He blinked a bit and looked over at Davey and down at Robert and then shifted his shoulders, "I can help." Jude offered, he'd been aware of Robert getting too close and collapsing but he'd thought someone would have come to his aid by now. Taking initiative he wandered cautiously closer toward Robert so he could try and help him up and get him away hoping others would also come help.

If Robert could think, he probably would have thought someone - anyone - would have come to his aid sooner, as well. Though, if he were to be honest with himself, he really would have only expected it from his friends. Who seemed too busy talking about how dumb he was to actually get him out of the shocking, debilitating pain that had him writhing in agony on the floor for the last - what was it now? Too long, that's what.
Jude, some guy Robert didn't even know, seemed to be the only person even a little interested in pulling Robert out of there. It wouldn't be forgotten, when Robert could actually manage to think of anything but the ridiculous pain that was jolting through his body.
He really couldn't say anything out loud, still curled up in the fetal position, but he looked like he was trying to reach out for Jude's leg. He wrapped an arm around it, ready to be pulled the hell out of harm's reach.
Had he just pissed his pants? He couldn't even tell.

He didn't get close enough to be put in the same state Robert was in but he was feeling rather sick just getting that close suddenly there was an arm wrapped around his leg and he stared down at it. The youth leaned grasped the arm and somewhat clumsily try and drag Robert out of the vicinity of the rather painful area that he was in.
Tug. Tug. TUG.
The last tug brought Jude to fall backwards onto his rump with a small grunt and panting a bit. Jude wasn't exactly the best or strongest but he at least tried to help.
"You going to be..alive?" Jude asked still sitting on the ground feeling the after affects still.

Really, the space was only a few inches, but it felt like miles until he was dragged out of the zone of pain. Merlin had certainly had his fun with him, all right. Now, he uncurled, and tried to catch his breath.
"s**t, yeah." His scratchy voice hacked out. He didn't open his eyes just yet, but he held his hand out to Jude, in a friendly gesture. "Thanks."

Jude just sat there regaining his sense of composure and he stared down at the hand before he awkwardly reached over and lightly slapped down on it like someone giving another person a high five only on the ground and very weakly.
"Uhh, yeah. No problem. Try to be more careful, okay?" Jude rubbed at his nose a little wondering what he should do, "Um, my name is Jude."
Just in case the other youth wanted to know his name or some..thing...Jude wasn't exactly the best when it came to other human beings.

Oh, good, somebody had managed to get Robert away from that creepy buzzing shield. "Um, 'scuse me," she said, sidling away from Bix and heading over to Robert and Jude.
"Are you okay?" she asked, not quite able to make herself meet Robert's eyes. "I, um... I... didn't..." Didn't even try to pull him away, because she was too busy (badly) defending his social dignity than actually aiding him? Pretty much. It hadn't even occurred to her to try. "I let you down. I didn't mean to, but I did. I'm sorry," she said, quietly, biting her lip.
"Um, thank you for helping," she added. That was for Jude, of course.

Robert didn't actually let Jude's hand go that easy. When it slapped his, the big paw gripped around Jude's hand and squeezed it, then used the support to help him sit up. "A'right, Jude. I'm Robert." He gave a pointed look at the apologizing Madison, before turning back to Jude. His voice sounded a little sour. "I'd probably still be lying in agony there all day, if it wasn't for you."
Ouch.

Madison's jaw tightened. A dozen different responses sizzled through her brain, all of them with teeth and claws... but no. She wasn't going to open her mouth here. Not with everyone else watching her. She could be professional, even if he wasn't going to be.
She turned precisely on one heel and strode away. ******** the stairs. She could take them all by herself.
((Maddie is exiting~!))

Jude nodded a bit at Madison when she thanked him for helping but otherwise he sat a bit uneasily in the tension that built due to the situation. When he felt Robert suddenly grip his hand he blinked but then also tugged at the larger male to help him sit up. "Not a problem, want help up the steps?" Jude offered quietly. If the other Hunter needed it he would gladly give the help.
He was aware of Madison leaving though he wasn't sure what this meant for the relationship between the two.
Quietly he moved to get to his feet again while still tugging at Robert's hand to help him get up in general. Enough time was spent down here, "C'mon you might be better off if I helped you up the steps."

Marcus had had his mind blown quite a few times since he’d signed up for this place. One mind blowing experience was just that. Getting head blown off. Or was it stabbed? In any case, Marcus died. And it has sucked. Then he was told to fight a war on spooky things. Awesome. Get stuck in a golem and almost get killed in that? Also awesome. Marcus would forever hate dragons, mostly red but to him dragons could go suck a diamond d**k. Now what he was being told was the sword of myth? Excalibur? Bull. s**t. Sure it made sense in some weird twisted ******** up way but just- Really? The sword. A Sword known all over the world in the classic myth and it was not only real, but right in front of him?
Mind Blown. Well played Dr. H, well played. Cassandra was all bust vibrating with excitement. Marcus? He was just wondering about the very gravity of all this. If what the good doctor said was true… then other weapons existed. And- then Dr. H was gone. “Well ********.” Marcus shrugged, looking at Cass. “And no.” He motioned over to Robert. “You can’t try touching it. I may like being a romantic, but carrying you out bridal style because you went and got your s**t kicked in.”
